Kagoshima, 19-14 Horiecho (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The location is perfect for a Kagoshima trip, you can walk to the ferries. The rooms are a bit old but clean.
The hotel is excellent, with great service and comfortable, well-designed rooms. It's affordable and in a good location, with plenty of dining options nearby. Although the hotel is small, it has everything you need. It's a bit of a walk to Kagoshima-Chuo Station, but you can take the tram. Plus, there are lots of great places to eat right around the hotel.
This hotel has been my favorite place to stay whenever I travel.
There is a onsite parking but you need to pay. The parking is just beside the hotel. This hotel nearby eatery places, walking distance. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. I will definitely stay this hotel again if I visit this place :)
Good location. Doesnt offer room cleaning, small room but reasonable for the price.
Good location, within walking distance to jet foil port to Yakushima. Not far from bus stop from Kagoshima airport.  Very nice service from Hotel staffs, we came early(10am) and left our bags at the hotel, at check in time (3pm) they’ve already brought all our bags to the room.  Standard size of Japanese hotel with all amenities you need. Comfy bed.

The size of the TV did not match the size of the room. I couldn't see the TV at all from the bed. The hot water heater was an old-fashioned unit bath type that couldn't be stopped, making it very difficult to adjust the temperature. Although the room was spacious, there was little lighting and what few lights there were was very dim. I felt there were many areas that could be improved.
I wish the lighting was a little brighter
The hotel is in a very good location, close to the Tenmonkan shopping street, and there are electricity, buses and other transportation options at the door, making it convenient to travel. The room was clean, the service staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious.
Cheap price, but the Internet is really slow during evening...

Great Service, great room, great price, one of the best hotels ever.
The staff is very nice. I like a lot this small hotel. The room was very comfy with a lot of amenities. Well located, nlvery close to Tenmonkan, and next to the ferry terminals, I will definitely stay here again when I come in Kagoshima.
For a business hotel it’s good if that js what you’re looking for
Great location with lots of shopping and food. Hotel is new and nice. Parking of cars are convenient too. Just leave it at the entrance unload stuff and check in while the staff do the rest.
For the price i paid i kinda feel guilty, small but beautiful room, the terrace bathtub was like a cherry on top of a cake🥰
The room and the bed were a bit small for us, but the in room bathtub at the terrace was a plus and a rare find at this price. However, there was constantly some smell in the bathroom (probably due to the shower curtain being always damp) and you could see dust visibly accumulated and stains on the wall next to the bed.

It was a nice stay overall, but the walls and door to the room were very thin and I could hear everything in the hallway at all times so sometimes I would wake up to the noise. The onsen was also quite crowded throughout my multi-night stay, but the café/bar was very nice. The staff were very warm and friendly.
This is a hotel I frequent. ◆About the location It's very convenient, close to my favorite shops in Tenmonkan. It's also right next to the arcade, so even bad weather doesn't affect me much. ◆About the facilities The on-site natural hot spring and sauna (men's only) are incredibly relaxing and I always find them useful. I heard it's known as the "holy land of saunas." The room I stayed in this time...
Because the hotel had no water or electricity, we arranged to stay at Nakahara Villa, a Japanese-style tatami room. The room has 2 beds, has a hot spring, is also located very close to the planetarium, and includes Japanese breakfast. Everything is pretty good. Accept the arrangement.
It's convenient and the bath is clean!
Located in the city center, convenient for city transportation, shopping, and restaurants. You can relieve the fatigue of the day in the natural hot springs (mainly men's baths). The facilities are old but clean. The room size is small, but not inconvenient to use.
Please check the opening days and hours of the hot springs and sauna before booking your stay. The hot springs and saunas are generally open to men, but there are also ladies' days. My visit overlapped with a ladies' day. Also, perhaps due to the pandemic schedule, the hot springs are not open late at night. As a result, the hours available for use of the hot springs were shorter than expected. If...

Great service even during the busy golden week. Very cleanly too. Comfortable bed and everything you need provided. Only complaint is that the laundry space is limited. Only two washers and two driers. And parking is limited. Great location.
The facilities were great, but the receptionist was wearing a mask and her voice was so quiet it was really hard to hear. The amenities were all there and I was very satisfied. The price was reasonable and I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in the new wing for one night. Everything was within our expectation . Room typically small but it is clean. We were assigned a room on high floor so the view was good too .
Excellent location, comfortable and clean. Amazing eating and drinking all around. I drove into Kagoshima for the first time and confirmed address of non-hotel carpark with hotel being 2-8 Gofukumachi, Kagoshima City. I was booking last minute so missed out on the small amount of hotel car parks. I went straight to the car park before checkin ( from north there’s barriers on the road preventing access...
Typical APA, decent room though the TV entertainment wasn't free at this particular APA unfortunately . Not the best location for transport as I had to walk 20 min from kagoshimachuo with luggage. Though it's quite close to the ferry if you need it.
Very reasonable price and good location. Place is new and staff is helpful. I stayed in a single room n is very spacious.

The room is incredibly spacious. The shower in the room never gets warm.
The rooms were indeed more spacious than those in a business hotel, but the facilities were rather outdated, and there were no toiletries provided at the hot spring area. At breakfast, I saw other tables had hot pot beef or salmon, but why didn't I have any? There was only a piece of tofu in the pot... and a large fly even flew out. It's best to just experience it once in a while.
Hotel is near shopping district. Accessible by tram and bus.. hotel is very clean and well maintained. Reception staff are helpful and friendly.

I stayed in a Japanese-style room. I think it would have been even more satisfying if the toilet and bath had been separate.

I was glad that the breakfast price was reasonable. The breakfast curry was delicious. I'd like to stay here again when I visit Kagoshima.
The problem is that the room is too cold.
Great and warm service, and super convenient pain drive off the main road. The hotel does not look like the pictures and reminds me a bit of a prison block from the outside... very interesting architectural design... but the rooms themselves are very well decorated and comfortable.
The bathroom was like a home, so I was able to relax. The bathroom and toilet space was large, but the living area was small, so it was a bit unbalanced, but I didn't dislike it.
I stayed here for business! The front desk staff were kind and helpful! The room was also nicely cleaned! The location of the power outlets was a little inconvenient, but other than that there were no other issues.
It was better than I expected. I plan to visit again!

There are convenient parking spaces right outside the hotel, but we were told that parking spaces are limited and it's best not to move the car before leaving the hotel, otherwise you'll have to park in the public parking lot outside once all the spaces are used up. The room was small and smelly, and the hotel was a bit too old. The service was very warm and the location was good, with the most famous...
The location is fantastic! It's very convenient for visiting Shiroyama Observatory, Terukuni Shrine, the planetarium, Kagoshima Castle, and Sakurajima. The surrounding area is also very quiet, so you won't be disturbed at night. The hotel staff are very friendly and help make your beds every day. So I booked 3 nights for this short trip. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Kagoshima next...
This is a hotel with history. That is, old. There is a slight smell when you first enter the room, but you can ventilate by opening the window. It is very attractive that parking is free at a hotel located downtown, and since there were not many guests, we were able to rent out the large public bathhouse. The sauna was not operating. The view from the large bath located on the top floor is also quite...
The young hostess was very responsive. thank you very much.
Very nice hotel, if a bit dated. The restaurant has wonderful teishoku (set meals). It's also very close to the port if you are headed to Yakushima. The front desk was kind enough to call a cab for us the morning we checked out, it was only a few minutes drive from there.

The bathhouse's hot spring water was very slippery and clean, which was nice. The location was also convenient, just 200 meters from the airport bus stop and near the station, making it convenient for everything, including restaurants, shopping, and even a supermarket.
Breakfast is neat and tasty, but lacks variety. There are too many smoking rooms, and noise between floors is a problem. The front desk staff is friendly, but the parking facilities and location are satisfactory.
The hotel's location was excellent, about a 5-minute walk from the station, with a food stall village and numerous restaurants nearby. It was perfect for a business trip. Although the breakfast selection wasn't huge, I really enjoyed the Kagoshima local dishes like Satsuma-age and Keihan, so I'd say it offers great value for money. I was also incredibly impressed to discover that the hot spring was...
The hot spring water was thick and creamy, and my makeup went on really well. The breakfast was mainly Japanese food, but they also had bread. The staff were always smiling and I was able to get there on foot from the central station. I was very satisfied.

As a business hotel, the bathroom area was also renovated, which was really nice. If I had to mention some negative points, 1. The clock's second hand was noisy. 2. The staff are very friendly but limited English. The room a good size, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great! The restaurant is also pretty good for meals at night and the shabu shabu was awesome. They also make their own ramen noodles. the facility seems old, but it locates great access to the train station, with good hospitality of the staff
The parking lot was small, so we had to use the paid parking lot behind the hotel, which was expensive. The hotel staff's customer service was not good.

The facilities are old, but it's fine for just sleeping. There's a convenience store nearby, which is nice. However, it's a little far from the downtown area, so it's not easy to get to the city.
Location on the harbor. A room with a sea view as described was only available after a complaint. But even this was only a modest one, across the corner. The most important thing, actually, was the mattress, which was defective and outdated. Otherwise, parking is available for a fee. And breakfast is also more expensive than advertised. Parking is convenient right outside the hotel. Staff is very friendly. Room is big but a bit old. Only the 6th floor is a non-smoking floor, so the whole hotel also has a strong smell of cigarettes.
The location was a bit inconvenient for foreigners to visit.
Great staff. Late check-in, late breakfast, and luggage storage are possible. The hotel is far from the station and the ferry, the location is not very good.
The reason for staying here is that it is within walking distance of the Kawasho Hall, you can stay in a twin room, it has breakfast, it is in a cheap and quiet location, you can eat after the concert, and you can take a leisurely stroll. It meets all of these criteria. You can't expect a great view from the window, but there is a spot where you can walk to and see the ocean and Sakurajima up close...

Interesting Japanese onsen experience. For western travellers is a nice way to get insight in traditional onsen culture. Food was so interesting at the restaurant downstairs. Recommend for anyone wanting onsen bath experience, peaceful stay by the water, great views. Really enjoyed cycling around the island using the hotel bikes.
Dinner was awesome, view was nice with quiet streets. Onsen is available but definitely not as nice as the others we had been to.

Ghe building looked quite old. Room is spacious but doesn’t have private bathroom. The staffs are super friendly and polite. It takes a little bit of walk to reach the town center. However there is a small park and lighthouse right next to it. A walk there is magical.
Enjoyed our stay. Building is old and could benefit from updating. Lovely location. Staff excellent.
The owner is involved in cat rescue activities, and there were lots of cats around. When I entered the room, the air conditioning was on and I was very grateful for the consideration. The front desk staff were also very friendly. Although it was raining, I enjoyed my stay. Thank you very much.
The hotel was set back from the main road. It was clean and tidy from the outside. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. The room surprised us, it was large and had a good view of the harbour. Beds were large and comfy. We only stayed 1 night but would stay again if we pass by.
The room has a retro feel, but the hotel was kind enough to give us an ocean view room as there was one available. The view was great and it felt great! And it was also nice that the bathroom and toilet were separate!

The price was quite reasonable, but the room was larger and cleaner than I expected, probably because it had been renovated. The location was also great. 🙆‍♀️ However, the walls seemed quite thin, so it might be difficult if you miss a spot with someone on your floor (I could hear people talking in front of the elevator through the wall).

A budget hotel. Stayed after night out.
Nice small cheap place. 45 mins from the airport so dont take a taxi. Check out is 10am and 1000 every hr after that. My room had two windows with no view but made the room very cold. Breakfast is self serve with a very small menu. Located very close to the shopping and entertainment.

We stayed at Aqua Garden Hotel Fukumaru for our school trip! We stayed in room 408, which was a Japanese-style room! Sakurajima couldn't be seen from our room, but it looked so beautiful when we went outside🌸🏝
We had a wonderful stay at the Aqua! The staff and owner were incredibly kind and helpful and the tatami room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed one of the best made Japanese/western breakfasts ever at the hotel’s restaurant. We hope to return soon.
Good location with magnificent view of Sukurajima. That lady attended to us is super helpful. Highly recommended if you are there. Me lucky to be here.
I felt it was an old inn. The taps made annoying noises and the indoor slippers were not new. However, the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and parking was cheap. It would have been even better if there were bottled water in the rooms.

A classic Showa-era business class hotel with a beautiful lobby. Features and amenities were standard for this class. The room was quiet and with careful management of the window curtains and heat pump comfortable enough on winter nights. Wifi/Internet was fast. There was a noticable odor behind the toilet where it's hard to clean, and though it was hard to see while standing, sitting in the bath revealed...

We stayed here 7Feb2025. The dinner is good , the hot spring is pretty hot and good. But the room is strange, i think it was a dinning room and renovated to a bed room, I will not recommend you to choose this room because no toilet in the room.
