Located near Songyuan, the rooms are quite spacious, and the service was good. Complimentary afternoon snacks are provided, and a free lounge is available after 9 PM

Excellent breakfast buffet. The room is spacious and staff are very friendly. If you drive by car, there is ample parking space here.

Nice view of the river from our room. Nice view of both the ocean and the river from the breakfast restaurant on the top floor. Breakfast is good. Sauna is good. Hot pool is average.

Good free lounge at night with drinks and snacks. Room a bit dated and old, can open windows.

Reasonable price and good service

We booked a Japanese-style room with a sea view balcony. I really like the bike rental, shuttle service and refreshments! They agreed to book the shuttle for me via email because I cannot phone calls

It is probably the best hotel in Karatsu city with beautiful sea view. This hotel has various facilities, including SPA, onsen and warm swimming tools etc. which is good for family taking the vocation

Great location, excellent service, and delicious breakfast and afternoon tea.

This was a truly beautiful and wonderful hotel. The moment I entered the lobby, I was immediately struck by the breathtaking view. The harmony between the ocean view and the pristine white hotel was truly impressive

The facilities are fantastic here, it is cleaner than any other place I've been to and the views are unbeatable. Most importantly, the night staff working the front desk made it such a wonderful experience

Breakfast with a sea view was absolutely fantastic, and dinner included hairy crabs. The sea view room had a large balcony with a small bar, which I also really liked.

Karatsu Daiichi Hotel Riviere

It was a comfortable one night stay. The breakfast spread is good!

If you mind, you can ask them. The day before, I stayed at the Mercure across the street, but the sea view wasn't as good as this one's river view (including Karatsu Castle view), which is very beautiful

There's also a light show at night, and there's a small public bath on the first floor—so relaxing! Excellent value for money! The room was cozy and had everything you needed

It seems this hotel cleans every three days, and you can leave your trash in the hallway, which is common in many Japanese hotels. There are fast food restaurants nearby, and the JR station is within walking distance

The room has its own massage chair and the view of the river makes you feel calm and relax. 30 pm so you can enjoy a hot bath after dinner. For those who drives, it is free parking

A very nice hotel. You can even soak in the hot springs at night. It's about a 17-minute walk to Karatsu Castle. I would definitely stay here again next time.

Yobuko Guesthouse

The dinner is squid sashimi and tempura, which are very delicious and there are a lot of them. The breakfast is Japanese style, both are very good

On the second day of my Kyushu trip on a weekday in late February, I stayed overnight after playing a round at Karatsu Golf Club. I was able to park my rental car next to the carp pond at the entrance

The sea was so rough that a gale warning was issued that day, so I was grateful just to be able to eat squid. The proprietress said that this inn never runs out of squid, so it's reassuring for people traveling for squid

Breakfast is average, but they did have squid shumai. Overall, the seasoning was on the sweet side. I booked through Jalan, and I was glad I got a good deal on my stay as they had a Saga discount

The main dish was local spear squid (sasai-ka)—I was expecting it to be transparent, but it was only semi-transparent. The tempura was delicious, but there were plenty of other dishes and the portions were generous

I checked in without waiting at 4 PM, decided on dinner time, and the landlady escorted me to my room. I immediately went to the large public bath. She said it was okay to change towels as many times as I wanted

Karatsu Daiichi Hotel

There's not much to do in Karatsu, so don't come here if you can. This hotel is pretty good, except that it's a bit awkward to get in early. It's clean and hygienic and you can smoke. The price is not expensive either

GOOD ☆The rooms are not large, but they are clean and functional. The laundromat is a drum type, so there is no need to refill the dryer. Breakfast (service) is quite high quality

I regretted passing it up on the first day of my stay. Close to the bus center Convenience stores nearby (F-mart and Seijo-Ishii in the bus center) Vending machines in the hotel are not expensive

Good response from the front desk, etc. bad (When I actually visited Karatsu, I found that buses are more convenient than trains for transportation in Karatsu

The price is very good, the service attitude is very good, and the location is very convenient for me, because Very close to the bus terminal, and there are many photo spots nearby

I requested a room with a good view and got a very nice room on the 9th floor. Breakfast was just bread and rice balls, but it was delicious

ONCRI-KARATSU

The service was excellent, and any inquiries were addressed promptly. The ocean view was stunning. The first floor was connected to the breakfast, dinner, and smoking rooms. A very comfortable and quiet place to stay.

This was my family's second visit after 6 years ago, and it was just as good. In particular, the free 45-minute use of the outdoor hot spring with a sea view was the best in terms of satisfaction and healing.

The service is good. Sauna in private and public area also stunning. Shall go again if have chance.

However, if your purpose is to tour Karatsu, not just spend a leisurely trip at your accommodation or walking around the town, it's a bit far from the tourist attractions, so please think carefully about your schedule

The bath is facing the beach so bath with cautious (tested and yes, passerby can see ya if you stand up to move from the tub). Since it’s open air, the shower curtain tends to get into your face when the wind blows

The ocean view bathtub room was so nice, and the private open-air bath was even better. I couldn't use the large bath because I missed the time check, but that's a shame. The staff were also very kind

Awsome hotel. Low price, good environment, good room and good breakfast. I am very satisfied all of them.

We had a superb sea view from our hotel room. The service could be better as there’s nobody at the front desk most of the time

Perfect location, the hotel is sanwiched between the beach and the Niji no Matsubara Pine Grove

We were so impressed by how strong and energetic she was, serving us so many delicious courses of food with such a warm smile every time! Speaking of food, both breakfast and dinner were highlights of our trip—absolutely delicious

But the place has been kept in its traditional Japanese style. The dinner is served in the room. I find that this hotel is in several collections of fine Japanese traditional hotels. This is some kind of reputation

The location is also excellent for sightseeing, as it's just a short walk to Karatsu Castle. The atmosphere here is so friendly and welcoming. Thank you to everyone at Yōyōkaku for making our visit so memorable

He is a very kind man who stays right there on the property, which adds such a personal and authentic touch to the experience. A very special thank you to the wonderful lady who looked after us

The hotel is right at the end of the rainbow pine forest. With a few steps, you can see Maizuru Castle. The city of Karatsu is not very large. We can easily walk to the castle or dining places

We were lucky enough to meet the owner and he very kindly shared his knowledge of local potters and places to visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Sea Style Resort Ocean

This is a place I'd definitely visit during the summer season

Good accommodation with nice sea breezes, rent is cheap, with free parking, would be perfect if they’ve got a elevator.

The store is directly facing the seaside, with beautiful sea views, and is also close to the historical windbreak pine forest of Niji no Matsubara. The interior decoration is simple and tidy

Best part of the hotel was probably the bath salts, jacuzzi, soft and big bed, and that you could hear the waves crashing on the shore at night and when waking up too

The public activity area can be used for cooking, laundry, and clothes drying rods. The waiters are very friendly. A small hotel that is comfortable to stay in all the time

Nice quiet little spot. Not so many tourists around. Right on the beach. There's also freebies such as the cold drinks in the fridge and a cup of noodles.

Mizuno Ryokan

The most attractive feature of this inn is the spectacular view of Karatsu Bay, with small islands such as Takashima floating in it, but the cuisine, centered around seasonal fish and prepared by the owner himself, is also excellent

The hotel is in a very good location, by the sea, with Karatsu Castle right in front of us. The service is very good, and the food is very, very good, but the public bath is too small

We visited Karatsu in early spring. We stayed in the Bamboo Room on the first floor, facing the sandy beach of Nishinohama. It is close to the Takatori Residence and has the atmosphere of a quiet villa area

Our waitress didn't speak much English and we didn't speak any Japanese but I think we all managed to have a good time, supplemented by a gigantic encyclopedia of japanese food in English with color pictures

Great food with careful and hearty preparation, both dinner and breakfast, impressive to eat in a 2nd floor room with sea view and super spacious

Every disjes were very very good.Location is also good.

The hot spring water wasn't hot, so I was able to enjoy it just fine The service was good, but I'm not good at speaking Japanese or English, so I had a bit of trouble, but if you take Papago, you can communicate! It was a cozy place

Very considerate and caring services Dinner was exceptionally nice. A very nice outlook. It would have been a good sleep if the pillows were softer and not so high.

Best Ryokan in Karatsu The western style room was AMAZING. The ryokan has it's own bathing facilities which are also awesome.

It felt like there was a shower room, toilet, and sink on the veranda It was really cold in the morning, but thankfully there was a bidet It didn't feel old or worn out. It was well-maintained and clean

It has a very high-end feel; the old-fashioned European-style rooms are rare in Japan. The hotel is small but very comfortable.
