My husband and I stayed overnight at a hot spring inn in Yobuko, Karatsu City.
Dinner was served in our room and included the famous Yobuko squid, as well as a selection of fresh Yobuko seafood dishes. Everything was delicious and we were very satisfied. The sweetness and firmness of the squid was particularly exceptional.
The hot spring also had a calming atmosphere, allowing us to relax and soothe our daily fatigue.
The squid shumai at breakfast was memorable, and we were able to enjoy the essence of Yobuko right from the morning.
We were very satisfied with both the food and the hot spring, and this inn is recommended for couples looking to spend a relaxing time.

On the second day of my Kyushu trip on a weekday in late February, I stayed overnight after playing a round at Karatsu Golf Club. I was able to park my rental car next to the carp pond at the entrance.
I checked in without waiting at 4 PM, decided on dinner time, and the landlady escorted me to my room.
I immediately went to the large public bath. She said it was okay to change towels as many times as I wanted. Amenities were also provided.
The open-air bath was a little cold and the wind was strong, so I couldn't stay in for long.
The sauna was about 85 degrees, and I got into a lively conversation with a lady visiting from Tokyo, so I went in three times, taking a break in the cold bath.
When I returned to my room, I took some beer I'd bought at a convenience store out of the fridge and lingered until dinner.
Dinner was served in my room, and staff began bringing out dishes one after another starting at 6:40 PM.
The main dish was local spear squid (sasai-ka)—I was expecting it to be transparent, but it was only semi-transparent. The tempura was delicious, but there were plenty of other dishes and the portions were generous.
The sea was so rough that a gale warning was issued that day, so I was grateful just to be able to eat squid. The proprietress said that this inn never runs out of squid, so it's reassuring for people traveling for squid.
Breakfast is average, but they did have squid shumai. Overall, the seasoning was on the sweet side.
I booked through Jalan, and I was glad I got a good deal on my stay as they had a Saga discount.

This hotel's high reviews are certainly understandable. Everything, from pickles to desserts, squid shumai, and more, is homemade by the chef. Everything was absolutely delicious! It's been a while since I've had such a satisfying hotel meal. Lately, I've found hotels where the rooms are clean but the food is disappointing, even though the prices are high, so I was incredibly impressed. I can see why some customers said they wanted to return. Just a little advice: I think they should increase the temperature of the open-air bath in winter. It was too warm and cold. However, the large open-air bath was a perfect temperature, which I thought was great. Also, the bathroom door in our room didn't lock. The room was cleaned thoroughly, so there were no issues. Finally, I'd like to thank the elderly person who served breakfast for her genuine smile and heartfelt service. I'd definitely like to stay here again. Thank you.

It was great. The ocean was close by, and the public bath was nice. I had a luxurious time. However, it would have been nice if the price had been a little more reasonable.

This is a Japanese-style hotel with OK service. The hot spring is very good.
The downside is that we ate dinner in the room, and the smell of roast beef lingered for a long time, which didn't feel good.

Staying in a hot spring hotel with two meals, there is a language barrier, but the waiters are very kind and sincere and keep smiling. The dinner is squid sashimi and tempura, which are very delicious and there are a lot of them. The breakfast is Japanese style, both are very good. eat. Worth recommending.

The food was great (better than more expensive Ryokan we have been to), especially the squid. First, you can eat raw squid sashimi, then they will take what's left back and make tempura with the tentacles. With salt these are delicious.

I stayed at this hotel with my college friends.
We arrived late at 5:30 pm, so we took a bath immediately after arriving and had dinner together.
After all, we were friends in the Aikido club at university, and although we were in completely different faculties and departments, the moment we met for the first time in 52 years, the memories of our university days immediately came back to me.
I stopped drinking alcohol for about 20 years, but it's a meal with my friends.
Coco decided to have a drink as well.
After all, even if I get drunk, I'll be fine if I just sleep in this room, so it was the first time I drank alcohol in 20 years.
Good one, isn't it?
In addition, you can eat and drink while smacking your lips over squid somen noodles and fish sashimi. And above all, the topic at the time of college is wonderful.
The club at that time was a very big club, with about 200 members. With a class size of 50 students per grade, there is no limit to the topics that can be talked about by friends at that time.
Sake is good, fish is good too.
And I was able to spend a very enjoyable time because there were plenty of topics to talk about.
Only, this hotel has a wonderful view overlooking the Yobuko Ohashi Bridge, but from the time I took a bath until I went to bed, I couldn't see the scenery at all because the flowers bloomed in my memories of Zutto.
Yobuko Ohashi is a wonderful cable-stayed bridge.
I am an architect and civil engineering engineer, so I regret that I was not able to see this wonderful Yobuko Bridge in person.
Now I enjoy looking at it on Google Maps.
I went to the hotel in a very good location, but I'm very sorry.
However, I was so absorbed in talking about my friends' memories of the university's Aikido club that I forgot about it.

Old but good inn. The design is unique here and there, but the food is delicious and the service is friendly.
It seems that the strange (almost meaningless) lack of focus on corona countermeasures is the correct answer, and the cleaning is thorough.
On a sunny day, I think you should check in before dusk (it was a pity that I arrived after dusk).

I was very satisfied because I could eat a very delicious dinner with a wide variety of items in the room!
Sea fishing can also be done at the nearby beach (for a fee)
Except for pufferfish, the fish they catch will be cooked (for a fee) and served at dinner, so children can enjoy the fish they caught themselves.
They gave me the best experience of eating.
In particular, the squid sashimi that was served at dinner, the tempura of the remaining legs, and the sea urchin rice were very delicious. It's a pity that the amount was too much and I was quite full by the time I ate sea urchin rice. The flat udon noodles that came out on the way were delicious, but I wondered if there was no sea urchin rice.
The hot spring was small, but the hot water was not too hot.
The dressing room seemed to have been renovated and was very clean and new.
Overall, I am satisfied with the staff
Perhaps because it was summer, the futon was quite thin and I felt a little uneasy.
It was also nice that there were plenty of towels in the room, including spare ones!
