Hotel Gobankan in Kumamoto

I shifted from the city area to a place near the Kumamoto station so i could travel to the outskirt of Kumamoto city. It takes me about 7mins to walk to the hotel from the station. Although it's a bit of walk, but the hotel is situated near the residential area so you can see the locals in the morning!^^ Kokutei and 埼陽軒 ramen is about 4 mins walk from the hotel!

The public bath, laundry area and dining room is at the first floor.
The room is spacious and what i am really thankful was the staff shifted my backpack for me up to my room when i store it there earlier in the day before the checkin time! Overall i had a pleasant stay in Hotel Gobankan and i will be back again! (:

I stayed for two nights.
It's about an eight-minute walk from Kumamoto Station, and since the plan didn't include meals, I thought the price was reasonable and good.
However, the large public bath is not separated by gender, so women who want to use the bath have to contact the front desk.
That was the only disappointing thing.

I used the hotel for work.
There is a large public bath on the first floor. I didn't use it so I don't know how big it is.
There is also a coin laundry. I think the prices are reasonable.
It's very convenient as it's only a 10-minute walk from Kumamoto Station.

The reviews said she was kind and friendly, but she didn't greet me at all and just looked down when she realized a guest had arrived.

I wonder if she was a part-timer who wasn't used to serving customers? She seemed more like a dorm mother than a hotel hostess. There was no explanation about the welcome drink. When I asked, she told me where it was.

The hotel entrance is like a training camp, and is narrow, with the reception desk right at the entrance.

I was a little worried, but when I got up the elevator and saw the corridors leading to the rooms, I was relieved to see that the hotel had returned to its former glory. What's more, the hotel was very clean overall. The room seemed to have been recently renovated and was very nice. When I opened the curtains, I could see the river flowing in front of me, with the tram running along the river. If I turned my eyes slightly towards the station, I could see Kumamoto Station. It was very close.
