The Rescape in Miyako Island

The hotel is generally okay. The staff only speaks Japanese and English, which can be a bit difficult to communicate with, but their service attitude is very good. Breakfast is different every day; if you need it delivered to your room, you need to make a reservation in advance. The hotel doesn't seem to provide lunch, but there's a coffee shop for afternoon tea. Only breakfast and dinner are served; you also need to make a reservation for dinner, and the prices are higher than outside. There are some free activities in the evenings that you can check out if you're interested. The unique long beach is also nice, but there's a lot of plastic trash on it. I looked it up and found it's related to its geographical location. The southwest coast of Miyako Island is affected by the Kuroshio Current and monsoons, making it prone to washing upboard trash from overseas during winter to spring. The hotel said they have staff and volunteers to clean it up, but the trash collection speed might not be able to keep up with the rate at which it washes ashore 😂. However, the seawater is still very clean, and the photos are beautiful. Walking outside the hotel is almost impossible; you might consider renting a car or taking a taxi. I calculated that taking a taxi plus going out shopping would cost much less than staying at the hotel and eating there.

Solid snorkeling experience at the beach. In-room dining is okay but obviously can’t beat the convenience.

Amazing place, above expectations. Nice clean rooms with a private pool. Very friendly and professional staff. Many special thanks to Sonya and Mie Inage. Also there are great restaurant with professional chef who cook good european and japanese food. A lot of board games and other small entertainments for kids and adults. Wild beach with crabs near by the hotel. Recommended!
