Beppu, Kankaiji 3 (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Additionally, regarding the dinner and breakfast plan (one night, two meals), as it features traditional Japanese cuisine, it might not suit all foreign palates. However, for the cultural experience, it's excellent
The staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, proactively helping with our luggage. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the private onsens offer a high degree of privacy
The food is incredibly tasty, the service is excellent, and the rooms are spotless. There are various private hot springs available for guests. Overall, it’s a great experience.
Very good onsen hotel with great food and hospitality. We have enjoyed the stay and plan to go back soon.
Dinner is Japanese cuisine, beautiful and delicious, with fresh ingredients. Prices have increased significantly during the National Day holiday; the usual price of around 3000 RMB is quite good
It's best to book a room with a private hot spring, as the other rooms are quite basic and not as refined as those around Mount Fuji. The cleanliness is also just average; the tables were dusty

The large public bath on the basement level was much better. The special kaiseki dinner was light and healthy. The meal took about an hour and 10 minutes. It served all kinds of food, including land, sea, and air
It felt more like a business ryokan hotel and I don’t mean it in a bad way. The onsens were very very beautiful, and I absolutely loved my stay in Kunisakisou
The hot spring water felt a little lacking compared to the Kinosaki Onsen I visited before, but the hot spring water was fine
It was my first time trying pork shabu-shabu, and it was surprisingly delicious, even with a raw egg
Beppu ryokan with a great value for money. Offers onsen and Japanese style breakfast and dinner.
At night, there are hot mists surrounding the ryokan and town, which made me understand why Beppu was called the town/onsen of hell

Overall a great place to stay; excellent food, beautiful architecture, nice views, private onsen in room.  Some suggestions on what we would have liked: more pillows, thicker towels, some welcome snacks
The location is pretty good because it’s private. It’s suit for guest comes with the car. About 15 mins drive to downtown. The room was big with private onsen, clean and simple
I stayed here in 2024 and had a great experience! This time, however, it was a bit disappointing. The facilities are starting to show their age. The food quality is excellent (half-board with dinner and breakfast)
The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, so it's more convenient if you're driving. We booked breakfast and dinner, and the food was absolutely amazing; you definitely have to try it if you stay here
The facility is only the public onsen, which is indoor with no view. The breakfast is quite basic, the taste could be more outstanding
My favorite part was the private hot spring in the room. I'd come back again if I get the chance

Good service, delicious food, convenient location
The best hotel I’ve ever been too! It was so relaxing, the plus is definitely the private onsen bath
Nice hotel with private onsen in room . We didn’t book dinner but have breakfast. Breakfast is very delicious. Service is very good . No complaints.
location is not ideal without personal transport, have to arrange private pick up or taxi from train station. Room has private onsen but it's not comfortable or inviting as it's a bath tub
The hotel location is chosen to be less beautiful on the residential side, the room lighting and layout is darker and old not beautiful enough, one night two meals is very good, if you can bring your own alcoholic beverages is even better, service attitude is good but can still have greater room for improvement,
The hotel is located between Beppu University Station and Beppu Station. It's 3 kilometers from various hellish tourist spots and 1. 6 kilometers from Kourō Onsen (Gourd Hot Spring), both within walking distance

Beppu, Myoban 4 Kumi (6 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel took the initiative to take the luggage, communicated in English, and the food was good. The most important thing is that the hot spring ♨️ pool is large and it is convenient for self-driving and taking photos.
The whole meal was quite filling for us, two girls. You get the entire thing in the picture to yourself. Breakfast was so good as well. The soup was called Dango-jiru and is famous there
Dinner was veg, fish, and pork steamed by hot spring. Came with several different sauces. I highly recommend using Yuzu kosho since they provide the best one I’ve ever had in my life
While the facilities are a bit dated, it seems to be well-maintained, and the service is even friendlier compared to the hot spring hotels near Beppu Station (which are also very friendly)
There is an open-air bath on the first floor and an indoor bath on the second floor, both of which were spacious and comfortable. The hotel has two private hot springs: a milky sulfur spring and a clear simple spring
This is the perfect inn where you can fully enjoy Myoban Onsen. It is a bit of a walk to get to the inn and the hot spring facilities, but there is a roof and the atmosphere is nice so it's not a problem

Good location Staff can speck English
It was nice experience of old-fashioned Japanese’s room one night stay.
Overall, it was an okay stay mainly for the location and local experience, but the condition of the rooms and onsens, along with the lack of warm service, made it feel below the standard of other Japanese inns we’ve visited
There are vending machines on each floor, plus free water, coffee, and tea machines, which were convenient for our family of four. Breakfast was included and was one of the highlights
good value for money! would definitely stay again location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk
However, compared to other traditional inns (ryokan) we’ve stayed in around Japan, the service here felt minimal. We didn’t get the warm or inviting welcome typical of Japanese hospitality

Pricey ryokan, good service, family run feels. Private on send in your room. Best food in Japan for our trip.
Lovely ryokan in Beppu, room is very spacious with western or japanese style beds to choose as sleeping option in the room. Sound of waterfall from room terrace is very relaxing. Onsen is very soothing
The staff were attentive and attentive. The room was a private Japanese-style garden room, fully and meticulously furnished. The hot spring water (described as originating from a gold vein) felt wonderful
Breakfast is also very authentic Japanese cuisine, very high quality and delicious! I definitely recommend this hotel. Regardless of the service, environment, facilities, and food, it is also very satisfying
There is a shuttle bus to and from Beppu Station (reservations required), the journey takes about five minutes, which is very convenient
The environment and service are very good, but the hardware facilities are really not good. The public hot spring is outdoors and looks like a wild hot spring. The private hot spring is outdoors

Upscale Ryokan with excellent food, service and facilities! Each chalet has a lounge and a bedroom, an outdoor area with private bath, veranda , heated changing room. ! We extended our stay, which rarely happened before!
The onsen resort offers 5 private baths on top of public bath, giving very good privacy and allowing me to enjoy quality time with my fam
The accommodation is old and worn out, and the hot spring is small and the water is not good compared to other ryokans
Every corner of the hotel exudes warmth and significance, urging you to savor its beauty. The open-air hot springs are truly unforgettable, allowing you to relax while surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery
They offer a selection of local dishes that are both delicate and delicious, providing a true taste of the region's flavours. My only regret is not booking three consecutive nights at this extraordinary hotel
This hot spring hotel has been the highlight of my entire trip. The rooms and buildings are designed with a strong infusion of Japanese culture, immersing guests in an authentic ambience

Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good so I didn’t have a chance to see the sunrise in the room. I might come back and try the private onsen next time!
Very good traditional japanese style rooms. We had Japanese dinner and breakfast in the hotel which was a great experience. The service was smooth and beds made while we were away having dinner
Hotel was about 15 mins walk from Beepu station. Hotel style and amenities was very old school japanese. Good breakfast was individually served. Extra bed was a futon which was not comfy
This hotel is amazing - the staff are friendly, the room is big and the view is beautiful. They also provide shuttle bus service which is really helpful
That’s really splendid view at the room and private hot spring is extremely great too.
The sea view was amazing and beautiful. Room amenities is typically japanese style. English speaking reception and breakfast staff was very courteous, efficient and attentive. Had a ensuite onsen which we liked very much

Great friendly place in the middle of Beppu. Breakfast is excellent!!
All the facilities are excellent and very clean. There is free water to drink at the onsen entrance. All the hotel staff were extremely friendly
The rooms were very small and the windows were so cloudy you couldn't see through them. However, their breakfast was very good quality and the open air onsen on the roof gave a great night time view
Beautiful view towards the main street and the mountains. The indoor tub has higher temperature than the outdoor ones. At the male spa there is also a sauna, small but really nice, can have maximum three people inside
ONSEN review: for non guests entrance fee ¥500, pay at the reception where you can also get the onsen stamp. Take the elevator to the 7th floor and the walk up the stairs to the 8th floor where the onsen is
Free lockers, shampoos are provided. Bring your own towel, otherwise you can rent from the hotel. There is a big indoor tub, two outdoor tubs, one normal and one shallow for you to be able to lay down

The room is equipped with an open-air hot spring ♨️, overlooking the Oita city view; the staff (including cats) provide excellent service
Retro traditional style with no changing room, as soon as you enter you are in the bathing area. A small piece of wood on the floor and two baskets for your clothes is the changing place
The room was clean and nice, but it was too dry. The breakfast was very delicious Japanese food, and different foods were served for 3 days, so I could eat a variety of foods.
The good hot spring with a kind Okami (Lady Owner)..... must try.
Measured the water temperature flowing in and it was 90. 2°C, of course you can add cold water to cool down the tub. Even though the whole area is small there is a big window which allows plenty of natural light
It's a pity we couldn't try breakfast and dinner, there was no such option when booking, and we couldn't order it on the spot. There's a delicious cafe for breakfast nearby

new hotel with great service. rooms are spacious and hot springs are well maintained. nice breakfast. very good cp ratio
The whole hotel is peaceful ground covered with tatami. We reserved the private onsen and was satisfied with the amenities. Bfast was a set meal with refillable sides and rice
Clean, very good service, breakfast with limited food choices, staff are polite and attend to details. The lady greeter took every effort to get a good picture for you in front of the hotel.
Overall, it was a very good inn. To put it bluntly, it is a pity that the room door would be half open if it was not locked. I would like to use it if I go to Oita again
The hotel’s staff is very nice, good service and hospitality. Good location and well equipped. Recommend for this hotel

This is a good hotel. It was a good hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and nice. The parking lot was spacious and easy to park in.
Dinner was very good. I was satisfied. The foreigners were noisy in the bath.
I stayed in a single room for one night. There was a sofa, but I wish there was a table to use with it. The large public bath was the best, as you'd expect in Beppu.
Our room was on the third floor, so there was no view, but the room was spacious, and the large communal bath and open-air bath were very comfortable, so we were very satisfied.
The hot springs were very pleasant and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff were friendly, and the food was clean and delicious. I don't speak Japanese well, so I used English, Korean, and gestures, but they understood me well and provided excellent guidance
There's a pick-up service from Beppu Station, so it's easy to get there. The onsen is the best. It's definitely an open-air bath. You can enjoy a sand bath. It's generally clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly.
Lovely hidden gem in the Kannawa area of Beppu. It is walking distance to 5 of the 7 hells of Beppu. The ryokan has indoor and outdoor baths as well as private baths that can be reserved. There's also free parking onsite
Good location, a couple minute walk to tram station. I forgot shampoo in the bathroom but the housekeeper kept it for me and the reception help me a lot for check it. Recommend.
The accommodations were nice, the kaiseki was delicious, and the breakfast was also great! I think it would be easier if I could speak a little Japanese! Even if it's just listening! The staff were always smiling and friendly! I only used the hot springs for a short time, but the parking was available until 2 PM the next day at the checkout counter, so I could park and go to nearby Jigoku or Hyotan...
What was funny was that when I asked, "What should I do about the hot spring water in the room? It's too hot?", they said it was hard to adjust the temperature because it was hot spring water

Good location in this small town, easy to access other sightseeing spots. Dinner time and breakfast time are strict, feel a little rush during my stay
I stayed here for the first time alone at Beppu Onsen. It has a great, old-fashioned inn feel. When I checked in, a waitress (or was she the proprietress?) showed me to my room with tea and sweets
Excellent ryokan to stay and enjoy private onsen bath. The ryokan is super clean, neat and tidy. Dinner and breakfast meals were excellent and delicious. Onsen bath facilities are excellent, clean and very quiet
Clean room, great service, good food.
All the baths, of course, are fed by natural hot spring water, and there are two private indoor baths and one open-air bath. Both were just the right temperature, around 40°C
It included hell-steamed eggs, grilled fish, chilled tofu, frankfurters, and more. This is a ryokan I'd definitely stay at again if I go to Oita again

It was a pleasure stay Nice service and food was good. It was our fist ryokan experience. Thanks a lot Greeting from switzerland
They then felt the need to re-iterate to me that we would not be allowed to check in after 6pm, but they already had our bags and had placed them in our room! We hastily hopped on a bus, and told them that the bus will arrive at 5:45pm and we would do our best to arrive before 6pm
Of course we booked last-minute, and refunds to cancel were not allowed, so we almost ended up paying a lot of money without a place to stay! Because our bus was running a few minutes late, this rule caused us to have to run on foot from the station in hot humid weather to arrive just in the nick of time at 5:59pm
As we were re-loading our luggage into the car, a man came outside and spoke with us, and allowed us to drag our bags back to the entrance, where they took them for us. But, we were still not allowed to check in
He kindly gave us directions to Beppu station and told us how to get to the Jigoku pools tourist site. We began exploring around Beppu with a plan to return to the inn by 5:30, one hour before dinner
We were sweaty and stressed out when we checked in, but we were just barely “on time. ” ROOM: The room was clean, but the decor is outdated. The interior could really use a renovation

The room was excellent, clean, spacious, and beautiful. It was conveniently located with a supermarket nearby.
The room as a whole was clean and nice. I think it would be good for family trips with small children. However, the bathroom isn't very spacious, so it might get crowded
There were plenty of towels and other amenities provided, which was great. The location is also good as it's in the city center
The room was spotless. Check-in and check-out were both seamless.
The place I located 10 minute walk from Beppu station. The checkin is done through a tablet on the reception. Make sure you have the entrance pin code. The walls in the bathroom are dusty, the AC too
There was a note saying "I will contact you if there is a noise complaint even at night", and I was worried that the noise next to me would be mistaken for me and I would not contact you when I was sleeping at night 💦 It's a great hotel, so could you just improve the soundproofing? Then I would like to use it every time 🙇‍♀️

Cozy atmosphere with good food and nice private bath that family can use. All the stuff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Very convenient to get to local day onsen like Suji-yu, Mushi-yu and Hyoutan
The inn is child-friendly and offers a reasonable price. Although I’m not sure whether the water is 100% natural hot spring, it is not very fresh. The food is good, and the staff are kind to small kids
There are only 5 rooms, but the hot springs were very pleasant, the futons were very comfortable to sleep on, and the breakfast was very delicious. I think this is the perfect accommodation to stay with small children
Other hotels require you to buy and prepare everything, so this is perfect for family trips for moms who are always busy with housework. They have diapers and a place to dispose of them, which is really great
This inn has a very homey feel. They have lots of toys for kids, including Anpanman DVDs. The hot springs are private, so you can adjust the temperature, and there are plenty of hot spring toys for kids
