The hot spring is so great. And The staff at the hotel was very helpful and courteous. We enjoyed pingpong for an hour.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and I enjoyed it
Except for the inconvenience of travel, everything else is good
The facilities are old but seemed to be well-cleaned. We were able to walk to the park and had a lot of fun. The buffet didn't have a huge selection, but our family enjoyed it and it was delicious. The hot spring was nice and refreshing, but the deterioration and mold in the shower hose was a concern. The noise of the golf carts outside bothered me and I couldn't get a good night's sleep. Although...

The service is very good, you can book a private bath, the room is very large and clean in Japanese style
This hotel offers hot spring baths. Located in the heart of Beppu Onsen.
The overall room and facilities are relatively old. But very clean. The customer service attitude is very good. The beef dinner is so rich that you can’t finish it all.
The facilities are old, the waiter's attitude is very good, but you have to add a 1050 yen entrance fee
Comfortable, clean rooms. Friendly service, location within short walking distance to Beppu central area.
Very comfort with ryokan style with king bed , very clean and easy to walk to main street

Great value for money, and the location in the city center is perfect if you're just looking for a place to sleep. The ryokan itself was spacious, and the room and bath were also very nice.
Great value for money, and it's not far from both the bus station and JR station.
Good location Staff can speck English
Nogami Honkan has a convenient location—an easy walk downhill from Beppu Station and surrounded by plenty of food options. It’s also within walking distance to Beppu Tower, where you can enjoy nice views of the city and the sea. We went during the day, but I imagine the night view would be beautiful too. Staying here gave us a feel of the quieter, local side of Beppu. While the town itself is calm...
It was nice experience of old-fashioned Japanese’s room one night stay.
Nice hongan. Nice and easy set breakfast. Promotion price for private onsen. Not daily housekeeping.

It's very clean considering the price. When the person next to me started watching TV without earphones, it was really noisy and annoying. I wonder what I should do next time I see them...
It's located in front of Oita Station, so it's very convenient. Plus, there's a convenience store right outside the hotel's first-floor entrance. Soft drinks are available all you can drink. There's no staff at night, so that might be a bit worrying, but... When I stayed, everyone was quiet, so I was able to sleep soundly without earplugs. Good news for (young) men! You can watch XXX videos for free...
It's good that it's close to the station, has all-you-can-drink juice, and offers unlimited manga reading. ...But the biggest drawback is that you can't lock the door to your room. There is a safe in the room, and you can lock your valuables there, but it's frustrating when you think, "Hmm, I'd like to lock the door here 😓." I can understand this if you're thinking, "I can't find any other hotels close...
It should be called a hostel rather than a hotel. Clean, good design and the location are positive points. However, the service doesn't run well: I arrived at 2.15pm, nobody is at the reception desk even though I pushed the call button (like instructions) many times, so finally I could not leave my luggage here and have to wait until check-in time (17h00)!
It is very clean and the staff is very accomodating❣️😍 The location is near in any amenities and rides

Lovely ryokan in Beppu, room is very spacious with western or japanese style beds to choose as sleeping option in the room. Sound of waterfall from room terrace is very relaxing. Onsen is very soothing
The staff were attentive and attentive. The room was a private Japanese-style garden room, fully and meticulously furnished. The hot spring water (described as originating from a gold vein) felt wonderful. There is a shuttle bus to and from Beppu Station (reservations required), the journey takes about five minutes, which is very convenient.
The environment and service are very good, but the hardware facilities are really not good. The public hot spring is outdoors and looks like a wild hot spring. The private hot spring is outdoors. There is no heating in the changing area, and there is not even a hair dryer. One person fell ill after taking a hot spring bath on the first day. He caught a cold and had a fever. On the second day, another...
The service staff are very polite, the shuttle bus is great, the meals are delicious, and the tableside service is excellent!
The room is big, the breakfast is good, the location is also good, the service is good, and the guests are greeted with a smile. It is a recommended hotel with good hygiene and good facilities. I give it a thumbs up manually. It is the best experience
The JR Fukuoka Limited Express Sonic takes about 2 hours to JR Beppu Station. After exiting the station, you will be directed to the Tourist Information Center at the east exit. You can ask the lady to contact the hotel for pick-up service. The hotel's shuttle buses are all at the west exit, and the receptionist can look for them according to the advertisement on the bus. Amazing experience ! I enjoy the room and onsen so much . The room is so big, tidy and cozy, with two private hot baths, one indoor and one outdoor. The onsen resort offers 5 private baths on top of public bath, giving very good privacy and allowing me to enjoy quality time with my fam.
The staff were so friendly and the people were nice!! However, it is difficult to communicate in anything other than Japanese, so if you are not a local, you may not be satisfied. The accommodation is old and worn out, and the hot spring is small and the water is not good compared to other ryokans.
This hot spring hotel has been the highlight of my entire trip. The rooms and buildings are designed with a strong infusion of Japanese culture, immersing guests in an authentic ambience. This guesthouse was one of the most touching experiences of my journey in Japan. From the moment I arrived, I felt a rare sense of warmth and calm. The fact that it is run by elderly hosts gives the place a unique soul — everything feels slower, more genuine, and deeply human. It truly feels like stepping into a traditional Japanese home. The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive, always present...
Great location near Kannawa. It feels more like a guesthouse, very Japanese in style. Hyotan Onsen is very close by, but after 9 PM, there's hardly anyone on the streets, and it's quite dark, which felt a bit scary. Check-in was quite casual; no registration needed, but there was a 250 tax to pay. The host didn't speak English, so communication was difficult. As soon as I arrived, they offered a...
Even the location is good but it difficult to go to and there is no sign of the ryokan at all. The room is very old and authentic which it almost 200 yrs. But request ice will cost 500 yen which should be free servicea.
This guesthouse is full of travel charm. You can reserve the bathtub for private use, and the meals are enough for 2 to 3 people, with sashimi, tempura, steamed dishes, and Western food—so much food you'll be spoiled for choice. You could buy eggs nearby and enjoy steaming them in the garden, but you won't be able to eat that much. If you ask the landlady for alcohol, coffee, pudding, etc., she'll...

This hotel is amazing - the staff are friendly, the room is big and the view is beautiful. They also provide shuttle bus service which is really helpful. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good so I didn’t have a chance to see the sunrise in the room. I might come back and try the private onsen next time!
Really big hotel by the ocean side. Room was so big that we can prob sleep 10 people in there if we had the futons. This place even got a water dispenser. Bath's view was blocked by safety railing which was a let down but the room made up for it. Recommend.

Good location, great onsen. It's a pity we couldn't try breakfast and dinner, there was no such option when booking, and we couldn't order it on the spot. There's a delicious cafe for breakfast nearby. We liked everything!
The room is equipped with an open-air hot spring ♨️, overlooking the Oita city view; the staff (including cats) provide excellent service. The hotel is located on a mountain, which is a little inconvenient, but overall it is worth staying again.
There was an open-air bath in the room, and it was great to be able to use it 24 hours a day.

Nice place with great staff. The whole hotel is peaceful ground covered with tatami. We reserved the private onsen and was satisfied with the amenities. Bfast was a set meal with refillable sides and rice. Located not too far from beppu station, its just a straight walk all the way.
Love the spacious hotel and its comfortable and zen ambience.
Clean, very good service, breakfast with limited food choices, staff are polite and attend to details. The lady greeter took every effort to get a good picture for you in front of the hotel.

Dinner was very good. I was satisfied. The foreigners were noisy in the bath.
I stayed in a single room for one night. There was a sofa, but I wish there was a table to use with it. The large public bath was the best, as you'd expect in Beppu.
The staff were incredibly helpful. We chose a room where you can take off your shoes since we have children, and it was the right decision.
Our room was on the third floor, so there was no view, but the room was spacious, and the large communal bath and open-air bath were very comfortable, so we were very satisfied.

Lovely hidden gem in the Kannawa area of Beppu. It is walking distance to 5 of the 7 hells of Beppu. The ryokan has indoor and outdoor baths as well as private baths that can be reserved. There's also free parking onsite. The only minor complaint is that the breakfast is quite average, but everything else was great.
The staff were friendly, and the food was clean and delicious. I don't speak Japanese well, so I used English, Korean, and gestures, but they understood me well and provided excellent guidance. I had a wonderful trip down memory lane with my mom. ^^ It's close to Kamado Jigoku, so it's easy to find.
Great food, great location, great service, great room. Onsen is outside on the open and there is a shared shower room in the hotel when the Onsen is closed.
The accommodations were nice, the kaiseki was delicious, and the breakfast was also great! I think it would be easier if I could speak a little Japanese! Even if it's just listening! An excellent ratio quality price if you have to stay in the area. We stayed in a tatami room that was large and had all amenities. Easy access from local train station and good izakaya.
The breakfast was very delicious and varied for the price. The interior of the building had a warm, old-fashioned retro feel, and it seemed perfect for business use.
Quite ordinary. It's neither good nor bad.
My husband and I stayed here for 5 days while traveling to a small city in Japan. It was basically an old hotel, but they cleaned it well. The room was spacious, but the bathroom was too small, and the exterior of the building and the carpet inside seemed to need renovation. The staff were very friendly.
I am grateful that there are few large hotels in Bungoono City that can accommodate a large number of people. There is a large communal bath so you can relax. The bathtub in the room is small, so it's a little difficult to use.

The stylish interior made for a very comfortable stay. The location in Beppu was also very convenient for finding dinner spots. However, I did notice some dust and the window screens were dirty. Despite that, I would still like to stay here again.
The room as a whole was clean and nice. I think it would be good for family trips with small children. However, the bathroom isn't very spacious, so it might get crowded. There were plenty of towels and other amenities provided, which was great. The location is also good as it's in the city center.
The room was spotless. Check-in and check-out were both seamless.
The room was excellent, clean, spacious, and beautiful. It was conveniently located with a supermarket nearby.
The place I located 10 minute walk from Beppu station. The checkin is done through a tablet on the reception. Unmanned. Make sure you have the entrance pin code. Not the easiest of checkins. The walls in the bathroom are dusty, the AC too. The bathroom is not heated, so very cold. We had the AC on max, still very cold, there was a cold draft from one of the light switches. The beds are comfy and clean
The hotel is new and the rooms are large, perfect for families. Everything is very clean and modern, so we were very satisfied. The only downside is that there's no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage yourself. There's a big supermarket nearby, and if you're driving, you can park in the paid parking lot right outside the supermarket, which has reasonable rates.
