Guest House Diamond - Hostel in Yomitan

The location is quite remote, about 10 minutes' walk from the main road. There are 7-11 and Lawson Aeon on the main road where you can buy things. The room is clean, but the lights in the living room are dim. The landlord will stay in the hotel with us every night, which is a bit awkward.

He was a friendly guy, so it was easy to talk to him.
He even took a commemorative photo for us when we were leaving.

The owner is welcoming and kind, and I appreciated that.

However I had some problems aswell..

1. The owner left me alone 2 nights in a row without telling me, or leaving a note as to when he would return the next day.

2. The owner said it was 'ok' that the front door was left unlocked all day and night, when when I was a single woman, alone in the guesthouse. This made me feel insecure and unsafe.

3.. My room could only be locked from the inside, so if I wished to go for dinner I could not lock my room. Since the owner has left without a word without communication to me, I could not go out, or my room was at risk of theft, since both my door, and the front door were unlocked then.

I didn't enjoy the lack of communication by the owner and the lack of safety, no matter how 'safe' and area may be.

That is not something you should do with guests new to an area, and with valuables.

Would not recommend. 😞
