Dogo Miyu in Matsuyama

Get yourself a Dogo Beer and eat Jakoten at the store in front of you. It's a pleasure to taste and travel.

This is a local beer shop in Dogo. It's a local beer, a bit pricey, but the taste is excellent. Appetizers that pair well with the beer were also served and were delicious. Best local beer.

After you've peed on the road, get out of the hot spring, order a beer and drink it on the side of the road, it's really convenient!

Matsuyama was originally just meant to be a transfer stop on our way to Hiroshima, but in hindsight, I wish we had left Kotohira earlier and stayed two nights at Dogo Miyu instead of just one. When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready yet, but check-in went smoothly despite the limited English spoken. The staff still managed to give us clear guidance on what to see around town. After spending the day exploring, we returned to our room—and it turned out to be one of the nicest we stayed in during our time in Japan. It was spacious, decorated in a modern Japanese style, and featured a private onsen on the balcony with views over the city. The real surprise, though, was the restaurant. Dinner easily matched the standard of Michelin-starred places in larger cities. What made it especially memorable was the sommelier, who clearly knew his craft and had curated a nice wine list. If you are staying at the hotel I suggest pre-booking your preferred time for both dinner and breakfast as they stack the tables to ensure service and kitchen works fine. If I ever return to Shikoku, I’ll definitely go out of my way to stay at Dogo Miyu again.

Excellent experience. Private soaking tub was amazing. Very gorgeous room. Meals were excellent. Miyu exceeded my expectation. I will book Miyu again next year. Its very high value prop. Since I saw miyu was a 2 star hotel, I lowered my expectation but I think this hotel should be a 4 star hotel.

A hotel with first-class facilities, including an indoor Japanese-style room with two double beds, an L-shaped sofa, an outdoor bath, a balcony with direct access to the bath and a balcony where you can enjoy the breeze. Breakfast is a set meal breakfast with rich variety and taste, including rice and miso. The soup can be replenished indefinitely. The only slight drawback is that you need to climb a slope to go to the hot spring shopping street (the return trip is uphill). If you do a lot of shopping, you need to evaluate your physical strength.

First of all, the location is fantastic; being able to take a bath 24 hours a day while looking down from the top of the hill is wonderful. It was too cold to go out onto the terrace, so I'd like to come back when it's warmer. Dogo Onsen is also very close, and the staff were kind enough to tell us about the shops and shortcuts, and we made it in time for the mechanical clock. There is a FireTV installed in the room, which was great as there were lots of family-friendly movies to watch. Finally, the staff were all very friendly. Thank you for explaining the local attractions and tourist spots, and arranging discount tickets for tourist spots. With a great environment, delicious food, and wonderful staff, it's only natural that we had to spend a fair amount.
