This is a relatively old hotel. The toilets are terrible; they're way too small and not even separated into wet and dry areas. It's cramped even for one person to stand in. The view is okay, nothing special. The staff are quite friendly. Overall, it's not worth over 1000 RMB; poor value for money.

We didn't stay the night but went for the private onsen that are available to rent for 5,5k yen. The staff were friendly and helpful as we showed up with no reservation and were able to proceed to the bath right away. The after-bath drink was included, a refreshingly nice cold green tea. This is a great place to stay. They offer a discounted "henro price" that makes a room around 6000 yen a night. Making the laundry is more expensive than other places (600 yen) and there is no Wi-Fi.

Great location, right next to Dogo onsen and shopping street. a point taken out as we couldn't park at the hotel and hard to park up a steep hill. Okay for us since we only stayed one night and was planning to sightsee by foot but would be a problem if we need to go back and forth between hotel and parking. It's old, but it seems to have been renovated and kept clean. I stayed for two nights and they didn't clean it - there was no explanation in the lobby. They said there was a M size yukata, but when I went in, it was L size.. One side of the closet was full of unused blankets. There was ice water and an electric kettle full of water for tea, but I wondered if I could drink it..there was no explanation...

High quality, kid friendly ryokan with very nice and large rooms. A highlight is the onsen in the roof/11th floor, where you have a good view over the city, Dogo Onsen and the castle.
