Asamushi Kanko Hotel in Aomori

The hotel is directly opposite the aquarium and next to Asamushi Onsen. It's a 5-minute walk, and after a soak, there's a market selling all sorts of apple juice and fruit souvenirs. There weren't many guests staying at the hotel, probably due to the heavy snowfall in Aomori. Both breakfast and dinner were Japanese set meals. The sukiyaki and sashimi were excellent. It was just us and one other couple dining. In the evening, there was a Nebuta performance and sanshin (three-stringed instrument) music. Even with so few guests, the performers were incredibly dedicated and put on a great show. The large public bath is on an upper floor facing the sea, and the island and bay opposite are beautiful. The open-air bath also has two barrel-shaped tubs.

The view from the room was great, I'm so glad I chose this place! The food was delicious too. The shuttle bus running every hour was very convenient for my schedule. I'd love to stay here again if I come back to Asamushi Onsen!

Location is far from city centre, but the view is nice. It takes more time especially during winter. Staff can’t really speak English, but tried their best to assist. As we stayed during the new year period, many shops were not open. Cleaning was daily and everything was changed. There is also a daily performance at 8.30pm.

This hotel is located by the sea, which gives a very nice scenery when you woke up in the morning. Kaiseki meals are provided, gives an unique experience. Rooms comes with tatami.

Nice Hotel. At night with very good shows.

The hotel is right by the sea, and the environment is great! Both breakfast and dinner were quite tasty. Although the bed was a bit small, it was very comfortable to sleep in. I didn't even want to get out of bed yesterday when it snowed.

Large clean room with a sunset sea view. The onsen is great but it will be even better if more towels can be provided.

The room was very clean and the hot springs were great.

The hotel was great and the view is unbeatable. The "bath with a view" is incredible and relaxing. It's a bit further out of the already very small town than other locations, so you're going to be in for a 10 ish minute walk to anywhere except the beach. The hotel staff does not speak much English, but were very helpful all the same. The WiFi didn't really reach all the way to my room. Overall, great stay!

Facing the sea, the view is beautiful. The hot springs were just okay, seemed like plain hot water. The hotel is relatively new, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Great value for money, and they even offered a complimentary transfer to the station.
