A small basic hostel nestled in a residential block close to amenities. The bus from the airport stops close to the hostel. When I arrived at the property at around 9pm, there was no staff in the reception for checking me in. A resident who can speak English helped me and contacted the staff. Also during check out, there was no one in the reception and I just left the keys behind and left. The kitchen is basic and although there is a filtered water tap, it didn't work. There is only one shower shared by the residents so there can sometimes be a queue.

I checked out a night early even though I had already paid for the 2nd night. Location is close to sights and fairly safe at night, but good luck finding the place, which is tucked away in an apartment complex. Nobody seems to work here so checking in takes forever and there's no guidance on where to go, like you would expect at a normal hostel. People seem to live here long term and the vibe feels like you're trespassing, not like a nice couch surfing experience. Sheets are dirty and I had to screw in my own bulb to have light in my sleeping area. There's only one bathroom so there's always a wait, and there isn't always toilet paper.

very cosy and friendly hostel. close to metro, ATMs, shops, cafes & restaurants and everything you may need. administrator is so professional. always clean, silent. suggested place to stay!

This hostel is great! The kitchen is artfully decorated and large. The shower/bathrooms are clean, no water pile up, modern. The capsules are wide and cozy (but the lights next to bed don’t work, my only complaint). But the people working here take the cake!!! The receptionist went above and beyond to make sure we found our next ride/destination. And kept in contact with our driver to check up if/when we made it/made sure we had enough cash to get there. Honestly, have not seen that much effort put in willingly to help guests. :) thank you so much, art hostel!!!

The place is a very nice, even though it has nothing too special in comparison with other hostels nearby. The location is pretty good, not far from a bus stop and central Abai Street. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The prices are fair - 2,500 KZT per night. The kitchen is nice, it has a fridge, microwave and untensils. One possible improvement is to have a couple of desk where one can work on a laptop.

One of my favorite hostels on my around the world trip. Fun people, staff and good accommodations.
