Samal Hostel Hotel in Almaty

Advertised as a hotel with 24h reception. Booked a room. Knocked the door for 15 minutes. Nobody was there. At midday. Got the reply via booking I should call. I can't call, I'm a tourist. What is this? Not a hotel...

Fully trashed place. We came at night and then we moved to other place. Terrible stay

We booked a room and were on the road all day with no communication access.
We arrived at the hotel at 20:30 after a 12-hour drive and it was closed, although the check-in time on the booking indicated until 22:00. Since we are not local, we had neither a number nor the Internet. Passers-by helped call the number indicated on the door, but no one answered twice; we went to a hotel a block lower and 20 euros more expensive. Half an hour later we bought a local SIM card and called Samal2 - we were scolded by the administrator that we had been unavailable all day and he tried to call us and approve the reservation (which was already approved on booking). The administrator was rude on the phone - he said that he does not sit at the reception until 22:00 due to the fact that many guests do not come and they say that he should sit there all this time when you can just call the number on the door (I tried to explain to him that not all people are the same, non-locals may have no connection at all)
