During my stay at Rixos Water World Aktau from 04 to 09 October 2025 on the occasion of TurkicSkills-2025, I was deeply impressed by the outstanding service.
The Housekeeping team – Nagima, Tozagul, and Raisa – performed their duties with great professionalism, care, and attention to detail. My room was always perfectly clean, tidy, and comfortable thanks to their efforts.
The hotel itself provided an excellent atmosphere, high-level facilities, and true hospitality that fully met international standards.
Without hesitation, I rate my stay: 10 out of 10 points.

In general everything is fine, but at the arrival there was some confusions and misunderstandings regarding room providence. Each employee was helpful, especially Bekzhan housekeeping assistant in answering questions and showing what does hotel have.

Extremely disappointing experience at Rixos Water World, Kazakhstan
This was my first trip to Kazakhstan, and unfortunately, my experience at Rixos Water World has been deeply upsetting. Despite being a five-star property, the level of service and hospitality fell shockingly short of expectations.
1️⃣ Check-in Experience
I had clearly informed the hotel in advance that I would be checking in around 1 a.m.. Yet, upon arrival, no one was available to assist with our luggage. The two ladies at reception casually pointed us in a direction, telling us to “go there,” offering no help or guidance. Even the security guard I called out to multiple times didn’t move from his spot. For a 300-room luxury hotel, this was a terrible first impression.
2️⃣ Dining and Vegetarian Options
Being a vegetarian, I was shocked to find no proper vegetarian options at breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Even salads contained meat. The only items I could eat were fruits or maybe plain rice with mashed potatoes, an unacceptable situation for a hotel of this category.
At lunch, I politely requested the staff at the pizza counter to make a simple Margherita pizza. When I used Google Translate to communicate, they laughed at me instead of helping, it was humiliating and insensitive. Eventually, they ignored my request altogether. This kind of behavior is simply not what one expects from a luxury resort.
3️⃣ Service and Communication
Most staff members do not speak or even attempt to understand English, which makes it extremely difficult for international guests. The few who do speak English come across as unhelpful or indifferent. For instance, at the bar, when I asked for a menu and mentioned I didn’t have my phone with me to scan the QR code, the waitress (who spoke fluent English) just said, “This is what we have,” and walked away, no attempt to assist or accommodate me in any way.

What makes all this worse is the undercurrent of subtle racism and mockery that I felt throughout my stay. It’s incredibly disappointing that in 2025, guests are still treated differently because they don’t look or sound local.
I chose Rixos expecting world-class service, warmth, and professionalism. Instead, I experienced coldness, disrespect, and alienation. This was by far one of the worst stays I’ve ever had, and I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously. No guest should ever be made to feel this way.

We stayed in July 2021. The hotel is relatively new. The service is top-notch. The cuisine is delicious, with a wide selection of dishes. It's perfect for a family vacation, with plenty of activities for the little ones; our children loved it. The staff is very polite and helpful, a big thank you to them! The only problem was the sea was cold, but that wasn't the hotel's fault.

The main issue lies in the cultural approach. For example, at the barbecue, the food is prepared in advance and placed out for guests. When you ask for freshly made food, the staff simply reply: “This is what we have—eat it if you want, or don’t.” Such an attitude does not meet international hospitality standards.
The restaurant also serves only local Kazakh dishes without considering the food culture of other nations. This lack of variety makes the dining experience feel very limited for international travelers.
The staff’s overall attitude reflects the same rigid approach. Even the DJ entertainment was disappointing. When guests asked him to play songs from other cultures—such as Iranian music—he reacted negatively and insisted on only playing what he wanted. This behavior is unprofessional and not guest-oriented.
Unfortunately, these aspects show that the hotel still carries traces of a strict, almost “communist-style” mindset, where flexibility and guest satisfaction are not prioritized.

No complaints! Everything was at a high level. Food, water, everything is great. There is a swimming pool where children are not allowed. There is also a lot of entertainment for children. Water park and amusement park on the territory. All visits were included in the price of our stay. We are very happy.
