The hotel features an 8-story building and a 2-story villa, offering a range of rooms including suites and villas. Guests have free access to a heated indoor pool with seawater, a fitness center, and a sauna once per day. There are 3 restaurants including a seasonal terrace restaurant and 2 bars, one of which operates on the beach in summer. Kids’ facilities are extensive, including a paid kids’ club, playground, and swimming lessons. We were not staying at this hotel but we had come to Jurmala that day to see the Baltic Sea. After briefly wading into the beautiful sea on a rainy day, we decided to have breakfast at the Baltic Sea Hotel and Spa. We chose not to partake of the buffet. Instead, we ordered pancakes with salmon caviar, which came with a serving of sour cream (it was particularly exciting to eat caviar in a former Soviet Union member country). We also ordered cottage cheese pancakes, which was accompanied by raspberry chutney and forest berries. To drink, we had a cafe latte and an Americano coffee. Both of the pancake dishes were excellent. Our waitress was very helpful and did an overall excellent job. Prices are relatively high. The main thing was the view: we were seated by the window, so we looked out over the vast and beautiful Baltic Sea. We were not able to see Finland or Sweden from our perch, but it was still a highly pleasant experience.

Location was good and that's all. The rooms had carpeted floors and beds awful. The main reason for two stars was the staff.

I had a gift card to the hotel and have chosen family room (290 EUR/night). I have made my booking via phone call and everything was absolutely delightful ... until we arrived. I have asked to make a dinner reservation at Il Sole at 19:30 and also asked for a potty for a kid. These were the only requests I had. This will make sense later. So when we arrived I can not say that there were many guests waiting, but it took much more time than expected to simply check-in. I was asked to show gift card ( which I was surprised I had to have it on me, as I was not informed about it, but luckily I had an e-format card). Then it was mentioned that I had a dinner reservation at 19:00, but all fine - I had an email where I specifically asked for 19:30, so no big deal, human mistake from their side. I have noticed that every guest that was checking in was offered a glass of sparkling wine, except us. So I have asked if the wine is offered to the specific guests and the answer was negative, meaning that all guests are offered. But in my case - I had to ask for it. Keeping in mind, that all other guests that were checking in were offered during their paper work it seemed at least strange. After clumsy check-in we went to our family room and I must say this is not what I have expected from a so called 5-star hotel. The main room was ok TV's were outdated, even remote controls buttons where worn out. The pull-out sofa also seemed like leaving out of hope for utilization in the nearest future. There is a reason why family rooms don't have any pictures of bathrooms and restrooms. It was so outdated and worn out, I must say I was in shock. It was cold (20 degrees, we know it because we have radio-nanny with temperature detection), there was no heat available in the bathroom as well. So keep that in mind if you are planning to go to the spa more than once you probably would need 2 swimsuits. And there was no potty! So I went to the reception, asked about it, was waiting for the girl that was trying to figure out how to solve this. Then she replied that potty will be in a room "right away". I have clarified - right away, you mean literally? As I have no problem with going through the hotel with a potty by myself. The answer was positive. The potty was delivered, but not right away and it took extra 10-15 minutes. The next chapter will be about SPA, but to be fair - about pools and so. The water in a big swimming pool was too cold for small kids, but was ok for adults. For kids there is a small "water island corner" I would say, with a pretty hot water. As I was with my kid I have noticed specific smell, but could not figure out what that was at the start. Then I figured out, that kids corner is just near WC and the smell came out of it. I must say that is quite an inappropriate planning of a pool and water zone for kids, as when I was swimming in the big pool I was swimming towards toilet bowl, as there is no door and people seem not to close the doors after the

Unfortunately, this stay was rather disappointing. The hotel used to leave a good impression and we stayed here every summer , but it’s clear that the quality of service is declining — primarily due to the staff. It’s unfortunate to see a once-reliable hotel lose its standard because of staff negligence or poor management oversight. I truly hope the management addresses these issues and restores the level of service that guests have come to expect. Now the stay is not worth the prices which are increasing every year.

Great stay, fourth summer staying here. Highly recommend! Excellent breakfast with waiters you will find nowhere. Sunbeds and beach umbrellas a plus! Short walk to great restaurants and Dzintari Konzert Hall.
I highly recommend Baltic Beach resort!!
Thank you to all staff and beyond!

The hotel is pretty run down. I’m guessing the last time the carpets or rooms were updated was the 1980s. We had a large family suite with a great view, but the bathroom was tiny. As in we could put a couple of toothbrushes on the sink, but had to store everything else in the bedroom. We all enjoyed the spa services (kids especially enjoyed the salt cave - what an experience!). The breakfast was pretty poor quality.

The hotel is very old – don’t be fooled and don’t book the hammam with massage (The Garden). We paid over €200, and the massage was supposed to last 30 minutes. Instead, they just scrubbed us with a sponge for maybe 18 minutes. The staff is unprofessional and doesn’t explain anything. If you want good service, it’s better to choose a different hotel.

Located right on the beach. Great service. Food was a solid 4. Location is 5. I liked the food in small cafe at the entrance, more than at the restaurant. Also great inner courtyard, protected from the winds. SPA is very good: several saunas and large swimming pool.

Staff was super helpful and friendly! Definitely make up for the place. Breakfast was nice as well as bar area in the evening.

This hotel is a bit dated in their rooms, specially bathrooms as well as no USB chargers. SPA area is nice, yet lacking free drinking water. Strange shopping facilities inside the building, reminding some Turkish hotels. Overall I'd say this hotel is 3* rather than anything more.

Mixed bag experience. The staff is completely indifferent (except for spa staff, one butler, and teenagers working the breakfast service). We have mobility issues and the elevator broke, leaving us to struggle to the 4th floor where our room was located. No one cared. The elevator repairmen arrived 24 hours after we pointed it out. The rooms are nice and clean, beds are very comfortable. The Italian restaurant serves good food (not a great price-to-quality ratio, but tolerable. 27 euro pizza is a crime, it's not even authentic). The breakfast spread was enjoyable. Essentially, nice rooms and good food, but the staff must have been huffing the same fumes since everyone there is equally confused about what their job and responsibilities are. Overall, I did not feel welcome in the hotel and I would only return for the spa.
