We stayed at Hestia Hotel Riga during the Riga Rimi Marathon and unfortunately, the experience has been nothing short of a disaster when it comes to customer service and management responsibility.

We wanted to shorten our stay by one night and spoke directly with the receptionist, who confirmed it was no problem. She told us all we had to do was fill out a form and email it to a specific address to process the refund. We double-checked the email address with her and asked if everything was correct—she confirmed it was and told us we would receive the refund within 5 working days.

Fast forward: it’s been over 2 months now and still no refund, no update, no apology from management. We've sent multiple emails—no response. We've called the hotel several times, and each time we get the same lazy answer: “Sorry, we will ask the manager to contact you.” But no one ever does.

I want to be clear—I don’t blame the front desk staff for the refund process itself. This is a complete failure of management. The total lack of communication, updates, or even basic customer care is outrageous. It shows complete disrespect for guests.

For a hotel that’s part of a supposedly reputable chain, this is absolutely unacceptable. We feel ignored, lied to, and cheated out of our money.

Do yourself a favor: DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. They clearly don’t value their guests once they’ve taken your money.

The breakfast is good, especially the cottage cheese pancakes. The room was reasonable, but I believe furniture needs to be renovated. There aren’t enough toiletries in the bathroom. Only hand soap and shampoo. Be aware of the mosquitos. They are everywhere in the room. The hotel location is very good.

We stayed in Hestia Jugend for six nights. We had two adults and two children with us.
This hotel has very nice location next to the most beautiful art nouveau -streets and the park zone of the older part of the city.
Hestia Jugend has nice, modern launch and some. art nouveau -details remaining. e. g. in the staircase.
Rooms were clean and daily cleaning was made in request.
Negative side of the room was that it was. a little too small, when the extra bed was made of the sofa. It was difficult to. find place for our many big luggages. In general, all details of the room were not very functional, like the location of the WC seat next to the bathtub. As a Scandinavian, I found the wall-to-wall carpeting awkward but the daily cleaning. helped to cope with this unpractical carpeting that covered the whole room. Would a wooden. wall. be more suitable to the old building? I recommend sandals to be used. (In Finland we do not use. shoes inside.)
Good things included the fridge and air conditioning that was easy to use. More sensitive. customers. might. consider that. the air conditioning is too windy.
The bathtub was. in the favour of the children. Yet it was. clogged in the end of the stay and nothing was done for it, although we informed the. reception of the matter.
A beautiful detail was a broad windowsil in the embrasures.
Hotel was peaceful. Yet it must be. said that all sounds of the corridor were easy to. hear. The peaceful and easy feeling might be broken, if your neighbour happens to be noisy.
A negative side of the beds were. big and hard pillows. There was many of them but they were all similar.
Breakfast was served in a restaurant that was nicely decorated in the old style. Breakfast was delicious and included some local details, suh as eastern European pancakes.
In all our stay was a pleasant one.

We stayed at Hestia Hotel Riga for the Riga Rimi Marathon and had to shorten our stay by one day. The receptionist confirmed it wouldn’t be a problem, gave us instructions, and told us we’d see the refund in 5 working days after submitting the form via email. That was over 2 months ago. We’ve sent multiple emails, called the hotel several times, and each time we’re told "Sorry, the manager will contact you." But of course, no one ever does. I understand it’s not the receptionist’s job to handle refunds, but the management's complete silence and lack of responsibility is outrageous. No update, no explanation, no apology—nothing. For a hotel that advertises good service, this has been incredibly disappointing. We feel scammed. Avoid this place. Spend your money somewhere that actually values its guests.

Hotel is in the Art Nouveau district.
Listed as a 4 star, would rate as a 3.
Attic room with a single pillow each, about 3 cm thick.
Listed as having a restaurant, though you can't use it unless your part of a pre booked group booking.
Breakfast area didn't have seating for everyone, some had to take their breakfast in the lobby.
On the positive side, was clean, had a window that opened,though you had to stand on the bed to look out.
Nice reception area, not bad fir an up and coming area but not the best I have stayed in

Good city hotel, in a beautiful area. Great breakfast, everyone will find something to eat.The rooms are small and modest, we got one with a view of the courtyard. You will have to walk through a large, beautiful park to get to the city center.

We had booked their hotel apartment for 4 nights. The apartment was nice, spacious and everything was of good quality. I thought we would be serviced, but they didn’t even empty the trash bin. A little less than expected.
We had great expectations to breakfast due to reviews and image, but was sadly disappointed. Everything was budget level supermarket stuff. The hot food was not well prepared - either over or under cooked. If I was to go again I would have bought bread in the baker store next door.

We stayed a night and walked to the old town. It took about 15 minutes. Our room was small, we had no room to open our cases. The bathroom was small with a shower over a bath which can be hard to get in and out for some. Breakfast was okay, at the front of the hotel.

Everything in this hotel was good but not great. Location is perfect if you want to see Riga. The front desk friendly. The breakfast buffet was good but not great. Rooms are quiet old, but clean. I stayed at winter time and in my room was a bit cold. Parking space a bit tricky, if you are driving SUV, there is not much room to park. But overall, good hotel to stay for not big money.

Great location with an affordable rate! We booked two rooms, and the hotel is just a 20-minute walk from the Old Town through a lovely park, close to the embassy district. Paid parking is available (€20 per day). The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, though they could use some renovation. Breakfast exceeded our expectations with a wide variety of food and delicious coffee. The only drawback was the poor sound insulation, so we could hear noise from the hallways. Overall, a pleasant stay!
