Monika Centrum Hotels in Riga

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this 4-star hotel warrants it. In less than 24 hours, I faced two unsettling incidents that made my stay very uncomfortable.

Firstly, I booked the sauna yesterday, expecting a relaxing moment. Instead, seven teenagers accessed the sauna through the fitness room while I was using it. Despite asking them to leave and locking the door, they started knocking, creating a very unpleasant and distressing situation—especially as a woman. When I reported this to the reception, their only response was a casual "sorry," which is far below the standard of service expected from a 4-star hotel.

Secondly, today, I took the elevator to my floor. As I tried to exit, two young individuals entered and physically blocked my way out. When I asked, "Can I go out?" they mockingly replied, "No." This made me feel incredibly unsafe and unwelcome.

I chose a 4-star hotel expecting both comfort and security, but this stay fell far short of those expectations. I cannot recommend this hotel, particularly for women, given the lack of proper safety measures and the poor handling of such incidents by the staff.
