The Explorer in Malacca

there is no amenities, so I put 3 stars. Staffs are friendly, room is clean, bed is comfy. the clothes rack mounted onto wall is right below aircon, this make washed clothes dry quicker, which is i like the most. Good for long stay.

Other than the very small room, everything else is ok. Kettle is clean as well. Very good location, which is just beside the mall and a short walk to jonker.

Convenience to reach shopping  centres .  Distance to shopping centres  are walking distance . Easy to get local, western n asian foods.
Veey happy with the location of the hotel.
Room price is affordable,

I had a pleasant stay at Explorer Hotel, and it’s a solid choice for anyone visiting Melaka, especially if location and value matter to you.

The hotel’s biggest strength is its excellent location. It’s within walking distance to Jonker Street, A Famosa, Stadthuys, and many cafés and local eateries. Getting around was very convenient, and I hardly needed to drive once I checked in. This made sightseeing stress-free and allowed me to fully enjoy the historic charm of Melaka.

The room was clean, comfortable, and modern, with a simple but functional design. The bed was comfortable, air-conditioning worked well, and the room felt well-maintained. Housekeeping did a good job, and overall cleanliness was up to standard, which is something I really appreciate when staying in a city hotel.

Service-wise, the staff were friendly and helpful, from check-in to check-out. They were polite, efficient, and willing to assist when asked for directions or recommendations. While the hotel doesn’t position itself as a luxury stay, the service provided was more than adequate for a comfortable visit.

It's very close to Jonker Street, within walking distance! I booked a room with two single beds. The bathroom was a bit small, and showering felt a little cramped 😂. Overall, the experience was still pretty good. There are two malls near the hotel... If you get tired of shopping on Jonker Street, you can head to the malls!

this is my 2nd stay iin this hotel. i got the room in level 4. the room is a bit old compared to the previous one. no smart tv. only afew channels. still a good deal for the price i paid. wifi is good. everything was good.
recommended!

For this price, the expectation shall be for bed and shower, but these are the extras:
1) fantastic location.
2) few malls less than 3 mins walk.
3) ease of getting food here.
4) Attractions are within walking distance.

Will return.

Strategic location can access any place where to go with thru walk ..love the location and the staff also friendly ..
