******DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL******** PLEASE read all the negative reviews posted here before you book your stay. I did not spend time reading all the negative reviews here (which is a huge mistake on our end looking back), and I ended up having to double book another stay so that I could have a decent place to sleep and shower during my holidays in Mexico City. Pro: They did a fantastic job with the hotel/room decor. The room is beautiful as posted on their social media and it’s situated in a great location, and that’s the key reason that lured us to book the stay at the first place. Cons: 1. The wall is paper thin and the hotel is right ON the street: we’re assigned with the unit (RODIN). It is on the main floor right next to the main traffic street (Monterry) and a pedestrian sidewalk. Monterry is a busy street and passing ambulances and construction trucks are a constant. To make things worse, the room is situated 20 feet in front of the receptionist desk. It’s almost comical that when you speak with the receptionist on the phone, you would hear the response from the phone and also from outside the door simultaneously. It lacks no privacy and ear plugs would be required during the stay. 2. No hot water: My husband and I arrived at the hotel very early in the morning due to our flight. When I was going to take a shower after checking in, there was no hot water at all. They found out that the hot water boiler was turned off at night. 3 No water/water pressure issue with the bathroom sink: while I was waiting for the staff to figure out the hot water issue, I also noticed that there’s no water coming out of the bathroom sink whatsoever. After they resolved the issue, the water would explode every other second when you turned on the water and it sprayed everywhere in the room (the sink is situated in the room). 4 I did not notice an elevator on site, only tiny spiral staircases accessible from the main floor: I’m not even sure how one could bring the bigger checkin bags upstairs. We checked into the hotel around 6am and tried to catch some sleep until 10am when we’re woken up by the constant ambulance noises and traffic and also chatters from the street. We decided to look into another place to stay as the area will only get busier at night with the clubs nearby. We spoke with the receptionists to cancel the rest of the stay as this is not what we expect from a hotel that charges $93 USD per night. Motel 6 has better sound proof than this hotel. We requested refund for the rest of the stay as this is not acceptable for what they’re charging (or even listing as a hotel!!!). The management responded that it’s not hotel’s fault that the area is noisy and therefore they refused to refund the payment. Hotel is a place where we tourists pay in order to have a place to rest and recharge and the quality, not just the appearance, should reflect in the cost of the hotel stay. We ended up booking another stay with Hotel Galeria Plaza Reforma an

Any positive reviews of this hotel were written by someone who works here or someone who has a financial stake. All you need to know is that the hotel is located on a busy street next to a night club. All night you will be awakened by street traffic, screaming bar goers, and the bass line of the techno and dance music playing. The vibrations from the music can be felt as you lay in bed trapped in this hotel because you are forced to pre pay your entire stay upon arrival. I am not exaggerating when I say I did not sleep for three nights. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Deserves 0 stars.

The hotel is very cute, with rooms themed to famous painters. The personel is really nice and helpful, and the rooms are clean. Perfect for a short stay, such as when on a business trip or for a quick lay over.

Terrible experience...upon arrival and checking in, discovered our shower and toilet were leaking. We were assured that it would be repaired or they'd get us another room. Went out for dinner and got locked out of the hotel at 1am! We called, they hung up each time. Rang the doorbell and banged on the locked door for 20 minutes, nothing. Booked another hotel and ordered an Uber, leaving all our stuff behind. The Uber driver felt sorry for us, tried to call and banged on the door too...still nothing. Had a friend come over and he too banged on the door. Finally a very sleepy guy who refused to look up out of his hooded head, opened the door about 30 minutes after we first tried to get back in. He wouldn't even hand us the key to the room we were transferred to. No heat, no hot water in the room
The next day, not only did they not apologize, they messed up our reservation and said our 2nd night wasn't available anymore. Did I mention that they didn't stock pods for the in-room little Nespresso machine and said we'd have to pay extra for them?
Only after being VERY FIRM with the morning clerk did they agree that they'd honor our original reservation and "allow" us to stay another night.
NEVER AGAIN. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!
Their concept of artsy rooms was good, but very poor execution and ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I do not recommend staying at this place. First of all, the floor isn't clean - the rug they use under the bed is old and dirty and probably hasn't been professionally cleaned in years. Also, the location is extremely noisy. The door to the rooms are not normal hotel doors. They are regular wooden doors with no insulation and a big gap on the bottom that lets in a lot of light from the hallway. Every night I had to put a towel across the bottom of the door to block the light coming in.

i stayed recently and was worried because of negative reviews, but honestly i had a nice stay, and the staff were very kind. 4 stars because my original room didn’t have hot water, and that was stressful but they moved me to a new room and the water worked great. the only downside is it was RIGHT in front of the entryway, which felt like maybe a minor safety concern (there is someone on staff sitting right there and all of my stuff was fine). i saw a lot of complaints about the noise but honestly … mexico city is the largest city in the americas. of course there’s traffic. of course there’s sometimes noise. and no boutique hotel or airbnb will block that out. you’d need to stay at one of the big chains on a high floor to avoid the noise. all in all it’s a perfect location and i had a nice stay.

Roma neighborhood. Good value for the money. Active streets.

Worst stay of my life. There was loud techno music until 7 am in the morning. This was so loud that our bed was shaking the entire night and we could not sleep for a second. The rooms is extremely humid and no windows making it even harder to get a single hour of sleep. DO NOT GO HERE

Location is so prime! There are many bars, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance and we never felt unsafe going out at night. It's a small hotel with all the essentials for a good night stay--it was clean, the staff members were sweet and helpful, they have security or someone at the front desk all the times and a nice deck on the top floor! Highly recommend this hotel!
