Hotel Ayook in Oaxaca

A truly beautiful hotel with incredible attention to detail. Fantastic breakfast served daily with different options each day. Super helpful staff and cosy rooms. Very well priced. Short walk into centro, perhaps 5 minutes until you hit the main streets but always busy with cars and open food restaurants along the route and felt safe - would definitely stay again!

Beautiful hotel with incredible design and decor. The room includes an absolutely delicious breakfast. My room was on the first floor and I found it to be quiet with great shelf space and a very comfortable bed. I was traveling alone and thought the location was great for exploring Oaxaca. The staff truly went above and beyond to make me feel at home, provide recommendations, and help me book transportation. I can’t wait to return soon!

Omg!! This was such a great place to stay. The breakfasts were delicious and all of the staff was so kind and helpful in making our stay one to remember. One friend advised us to stay away from hotel food…until she saw the photos of the food we ate at Ayook for breakfast!!

The rooms are small but well designed with lots of storage space!! It’s close enough to walk to the centro but far enough to be quiet. Book this hotel! You won’t regret it!

P.S. No kiddos allowed. I like kids. But it’s nice going to an adults only hotel.

Beauuuutiful boutique hotel in a great location just near the city centre. The design of the hotel is amazing and captures the spirit of Oaxaca. Our room didn’t have a proper window, only one into the courtyard, that was my only wish.

We first stayed at Hotel Ayook in 2023, and returned again (twice!) in 2025. It’s a wonderful small hotel with a friendly staff. In fact, I recognized nearly everyone working from our first stay. They are still working there and I think that speaks volumes! The single rooms are small, but the beds are incredibly comfortable and the AC works amazingly well. The rooms are not sound proof but isn’t anything an eye pillow and headphones cannot solve. There are four hammocks on the rooftop that stay shaded in the heat of the afternoon - it’s a great place for a nap. The included breakfast is such a wonderful way to start the day. Don’t sleep on the cafe de olla! This visit we had to leave for a 6am flight and they prepared us coffees for the taxi ride to the airport and a sack lunch. That sandwich was really a life saver when we had travel delays. I love the space, I love the people. Thank you Ayook!

Lovely hotel, delicious breakfast, friendly staff. But the pillows were as hard as a rock and the beds were tiny (-1 star). If you don’t mind small beds then I’d definetly recommend this place! Also very well located.
