I really wanted to like Pug Seal Oaxaca because the property itself is beautiful, but unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. The hotel is surrounded by several clubs, and the bass was blasting through the rooms the entire night. It was impossible to sleep, even with earplugs.
To make things worse, one of the rooms was apparently closed due to excessive noise issues on the hotel’s side, which says a lot about the overall problem. We, along with three other guests, ended up leaving after just one night because the noise situation was unbearable.
If you’re looking for a place to actually rest, I cannot recommend this hotel. The location might be convenient for some, but the lack of soundproofing completely ruins the stay

Breakfasts are superb.
BUT:
They have a big problem with noise from a local bar which kept us awake until 3.45 am

I really enjoyed my stay at Pug Seal. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the Zócalo and the Santo Domingo church. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and breakfast in the common area was both delicious and full of local flavors.

My favorite spot was the terrace, with its view on the relaxing water installation. The room we had was spacious and well equipped. The only drawback was the lack of a window, which felt a little closed in—but it seems that’s the design of the hotel overall, so worth keeping in mind before booking.

Despite that, I would happily recommend Pug Seal and would stay again!

Amazing experience at Pug Seal. The staff and team were very helpful and accommodating. Our room was spacious enough and has all the necessary amenities. Great coffee at the reception. The breakfast area is so charming and the entire hotel is filled with interesting art pieces.

Love, love, love! This boutique hotel is beautiful, an old house with 22 rooms. Included breakfast is fantastic. Loved the concept! Can’t wait to visit the other hotels they have in Polanco Mexico City

Very good attention from the staff... the place is very beautiful, rustic rooms and modern rooms at the same time. It includes both recommended and very generous breakfasts. And the location is perfect. I will definitely come back...

The staff is incredible. The rooms are quiet and beautifully decorated. The walls are covered in frescoes and each room is named after the fresco that is next to it. The breakfast is excellent every morning. The staff is always willing to help with anything you need and is very knowledgeable about the area and gives great recommendations. They treat you like family.

This is a stunning little hotel in a bustling part of oxaca! Close to everything. The rooms are just breathtaking. Clean, well maintained. The little water feature in the courtyard is beautiful and our daughter enjoyed the swings.
The breakfast was just spectacular!! At par with any of the fancy restaurants in the city. The kitchen staff were very accommodating, cooking for us an hour early when we had to be out for a day trip early in the morning. There are evening snacks which our daughter loved.
The front desk staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. They gave us the impression of being a concierge, which we realised they perhaps were not, as their knowledge on celebrations in the city wasn’t exactly up to date for some of the events. But that’s perhaps on us. Overall this was a great stay which we would gladly repeat.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a renovated building. It has stunning murals on the walls. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfasts were varied and very tasty with local ingredients.

It was such a beautiful place! I had the pleasure of staying some nights with my partner and the hotel was just magical, especially at night, the lighting and the architecture was very impressive. When I had to work, I could just sit anywhere and it didn't feel like a hotel at all.

Also, the location was great. It's in the downtown area and everything you'll love of the city is close by, we had time to just go walking to the most delicious restaurants.

I've been here for ten years, at least. Not the greatest, but competitive. So we decided to spend new year's eve 2017 here. It was a joke, bad food, bad drinks, horrible service. I will never return. Avoid at all cost.
