Hotel Barroco in Puebla

I regret staying at Hotel Barroco. The experience was far from what I expected, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is run down, and the shower was covered in mould, which made it feel unhygienic and unpleasant. The WiFi was very limited—apps like Booking.com and ADO wouldn't even load, which made planning our trip a nightmare.

Noise is a major issue here. If a phone alarm goes off in another room, it feels like it’s in your own. You can hear everything—neighbors flushing toilets or taking showers, street noise, dogs, and even the homeless person who sleeps in front of the hotel shouting. It was impossible to get a good night's sleep.

The patio doubles as a parking lot for cars and motorbikes. If someone comes back late at night, the noise is guaranteed to wake you up, as the motorbike is parked just meters from your bed, with only a flimsy glass door in between.

Rooms facing the street are the worst. The balcony door doesn’t seal properly; it has holes that let in not just the noise but also bugs. We even found a large cockroach-like bug on the wall, too high to reach.

This hotel clearly needs serious renovations and better management. I would highly recommend avoiding it if you value cleanliness, comfort, or peace and quiet.
