Amazing Ionika Hostel in Chisinau

What a nice little hostel in the center of Chișinău!

The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The hostel had good amenities, like a fully equipped kitchen, and was quite clean. The location was also a highlight, with great local restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and most landmarks and activities close by.

The hostel also offers tours to Transnistria, which turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip.

Overall, I highly recommend this gem of a hostel!

This hostel is the best is Chisinau. One thing i always appreciate is good bathrooms and this place had bathrooms like a 5 star hotel. It was super clean, everyone was super nice and overall i heavily recommend.

no card payment possible, this is the only very annoying thing. In the end I paid around 8€ more which somehow got lost in the currency calculation

Still, would always go back, probably best address in town.

I stayed at the hostel for just one night. The next day, after checking out, I went to Tiraspol for the day, and they kindly let me leave my luggage at the hostel until I returned. On top of that, I had to catch a bus that same night at 1 a.m., and they allowed me to wait there and use the facilities if I wanted until it was time to leave. Rubens, the owner, is an amazing guy, and all the girls at the reception are very helpful. The hostel is really nice, super clean, and very well located. Totally recommended!

So friendly and pleasant owner, super service 😍. Checked in us early without any problems. Pleasantly surprised that towels was included. I know that some hostels take extra pay for it. Also so nice that there is a separate room for women with shower. And it's so clean and comfortably 🤗. Thank you for warm welcome 🙏

Incredible hostel with the most amazing staff and cutest baby. The shower is out of this world and deserves the specialist of mentions. I arrived at 4am and as I'd let the staff know they had arranged for a bed to be ready for me when I arrived without charge which was incredible.

This place is great! There's tons of neat RTW art all over the walls, wifi works perfect, owner is extremely helpful too. I even arrive way later than originally planned, they still held the bunk for me. Definitely stay here if you are in Chisinau. Oh and check out the shower

This is an amazing place, in no small part due to Rubens. He went out if his way to find a place for me when I needed to stay one more night even though they were fully booked. He then said soothing things and rocked me to sleep while softly singing me Italian lullabies. OK, maybe not that last part, but he really did go above and beyond to help me out, as well as finding transportation, suggesting activities and places to eat, and just some great conversation. The hostel has some great community spaces and a very friendly feel. Lots of interesting people to meet and talk to Everything was cleaned often and thoroughly. Comfortable beds. Well stocked kitchen. Clean showers and bathrooms. All around a great place to stay. All of the staff are friendly and kind, especially Anya, she always had a smile and was super helpful. She (as well as all the other staff) speaks excellent English, too. Also, Kitty-Kitty and the neighborhood dog are great animal ambassadors. It's called Ionika, but it could also be called Iconic! If/when I come back through Chișinău, I will definitely stay here again.

The best hostel I’ve ever stayed. The receptionist (a brunette girl with braces, I can’t remember her name) was AMAZING. She explained everything, even gave us a city map. The hostel is really clean, the staff so friendly, we met the owner Rubens and he helped us A LOT. Zero complaints, amazing staff, amazing location, amazing infrastructure, amazing hostel! Thank you!
