Riad Emotion is a must stay while in Essouria. This was our favourite Riad in Morocco, topping all the wonderful spots we stayed in Marrakesh, for a fraction of the price. The interior design, restoration and decoration of this Riad was nothing but perfection. The staff were all extremely accommodating and kind. The homemade breakfasts were a particular delight each morning, including yogurt, fresh fruits, eggs whichever way you like them, perfectly curated coffee, mouth watering crepes, jams, honeys and cakes. Would highly recommend this stay for anyone staying in Essouria. No constructive feedback!

Perfect stay in Essouira. Highly recommend! It’s beautifully decorated and spotless. Feels like you are staying in a private home. Breakfast on rooftop is fabulous. Location is central and on a quiet street. Gisele is an amazing host. Hope to be back!

We had a fantastic stay at Riad Émotion. From the first moment entering the Riad, you can sense the serene, quiet, and calming atmosphere. It is stunningly decorated with local art in both common areas and the rooms. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The staff is helpful and welcoming and happy to give local recommendations. Breakfast on the terrace is the perfect start to the day. The location is perfect too, just inside the Medina. I cannot recommend it highly enough and hope to return.

The Riad delighted from the moment of arrival. Tea served in the beautiful lobby in front of the tiled water feature, lovely friendly welcome and the scent of orange blossom. The room was stunning, so clean, comfortable and attention to detail everywhere. All the communal areas felt so authentic and lovingly styled. A hidden gem on the roof top with relaxing places to relax and views of the town. The atmosphere of the whole Road was one of calm serenity. Would love to return one day…

Excellent small Riad which is in a great central
Location. The Riad is clean, very peaceful and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Each morning guest are treated to the most delicious home cooked breakfast which is served in a beautiful location: a true highlight of the riad that sets you up for the day. This accommodation is highly recommended.

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful this riad is. It is stunningly beautiful, peaceful and calm, and has such kind people working there. The rooms are wonderful, the breakfast is delicious. This was my favorite stay in all my time in Morocco! I would absolutely come here again.

What a real gem this is! From the moment we stepped inside into the tastefully decorated, beautifully perfumed interior we were made to feel welcome. Throughout our 3-night stay, Giselle & Philippe were always on hand to advise and ensure the smooth running of the riad, staffed by the most delightful team. A delicious daily breakfast with homemade local delicacies was served on the terrace. The bedroom provided every comfort, lovely linen, great shower, spotlessly clean with rose petals scattered daily and homemade biscuits provided. We didn't want to leave and have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending this riad for an unforgettable stay.

Le Riad Émotion est très apaisant. Sa décoration est très typique, mais aussi très cocooning, fait avec beaucoup de goût ; nous sommes au centre de la Médina mais c’est d’un calme absolu. Gisèle est au petit soin, le petit déjeuner fait maison est très copieux, ses couchages sont très confortables et elle est de très bon conseil pour la découverte d’Essaouira et ses alentours. Merci également à Hayett et Samira pour la qualité de leurs services.

You feel every minute that this place is managed by the owners with love and care. The staff is very friendly and very good at what they are doing. They went extra miles by getting up earlier so we could have breakfast before our early departure. When we left, they call a guy to carry our luggage, even before I asked. We complained about the loud fan which got replaced in an instant. Breakfast is fantastic, very local and very fresh. Location is very central but still quiet. Would always come back when in Essarouia.

Awful food. After coming back twice to say they could not make the Pastilla nor Rice dish, our water arrived. The bottle had been previously used, filled to the brim, and we speculate it was not filtered. 15 dh.
After 25 minutes our food arrived. The Spaghetti Fromage was simply spaghetti with grated cheese on top. No sauce, onion, anything. Dry, tasteless, and late.
Without doubt the worst meal I have ever bought.

Good live music, super friendly staff. Spaghetti bolognaise was good and filling, couscous was tasty. Decent sized portions. Great atmosphere and cool art on the walls and tables.

I visited here last week on a day trip to Essaouria. It's in a little square just off from the medina; I used GPS to get there. It majors in burgers, wraps and things. The staff speak English and indeed are English, so there's a guilt factor involved - why did I go to Morocco to visit an English restaurant? am I turning into an ex-pat? - but you just have to learn to overcome that. I have no idea if you're supposed to tip or not, so I just rounded up to the nearest 10dh and ran away before they could offer me change.
I had a vege-chilli burger with two cups of pretty good milky coffee for 80dh (60dh for the food, 10dh each for the coffees), about £5.70. The burger was pretty big, there was a tonne of salad, plus more salad, it was my only meal that day and I didn't feel hungry the next day. You get crisps instead of chips, e.g. potato crisps, Walker's / Lay's crisps.
It's across from a couple of other restaurants. There were a number of stray cats, but they deliberately ignored me in a particularly cat-like way. Towards the end of the meal a local band popped up at the end of the table and started playing, and I deliberately ignored *them*. NB There's also a La Cantina in Marrakech, but it's totally different.
