Dar Loulema in Essaouira

An excellent choice with great service and nicely decorated room. Location is very convenient in the Medina but of course the noise can be a small issue (but nothing that prevent from a good sleep). I recommend.

Very nice Riad, very well located and with outstanding staff & service. Nicely comfy rooms.
The only minus is that we can hear a bit the noise of the surrounding bars & clubs, which is not a big issue (and it is probably unavoidable in a Medina like the one of Essaouira).

Loved everything about our stay here. Pleasant welcome, nice and friendly staff, good location. It's true that you can hear the club next door a bit but that didn't stop me from having the best sleep here. Would've loved to stay longer. Thanks guys!

The place is located 200 feet from the public parking, just by the shore. The entrance is a bit filthy but once inside the place is lovely.

The terrace by the rooftop is the best place to catch the sunset!. Everything was super comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was served in the terrace from 8 to 11.

Staff is very attentive and chilled. There is a pub next door with chillout, and they sell spirits/beers. The place is noisy till 1am or so. Recommended for 1 or 2 nights.

We had such a good stay at Dar Loulema! Our family of four stayed in a larger room with a private terrace, overlooking the sea. The room was beautifully designed, with a modern nautical theme and separate spaces for parents and for kids. Pure fantasy! The breakfasts on the terrace were a treat, and the staff was so nice. It was also conveniently located - close to everything while being easy to get to.


There was some noise from the nearby club and mosque, but with earplugs, no issue at all. Would highly recommend!!

We arrived late at around 3am (we had notified the hotel in advance) and the worker on duty apparently didnt hear us banging on the door.....

Anyway, after a night in the car, we arrived the next morning to a lovel hotel with great architecture and design.

The breakfast was lovely and Fatiha is an absolute gem (she deserves a pay rise just for being so kind).

Despite not getting a refund for the first night, we did upgrade for a reasonable price to a nicer room.

We certainly miss this hotel and will probably return.

Very nice and clean place, located near the sea

I particularly appreciated the possibility of being able to combine the fact of being in the center of the Kasbah, the historic heart of the medina (the tiny Souss lane appears on a 1767 map as it still is today!), in a riad very respectful of the architectural tradition, yet with charm and at the same time great comfort. Hearty and friendly breakfast on the sunny terrace is fantastic, such feelings of rest and comfort! For a private terrace with a view of the harbor dungeons and the ocean, I chose the Suite "Belem" set as a boat's cabin. The view on the old harbor, its fortress protecting from sea's tides, is going to be one of my best souvenir of Essaouira. The staff is so kind, so dedicated to make you feel good, and so is Nathalie, the discrete owner who nevertheless will make sure you don't miss anything. I'm used to come back regularly to Essaouira since over 15 years and I tried many great places already, but I will definitely come back to that riad.
