Grand Garden Hotel Yangon in Yangon

It is a good transit hotel near Yangon International Airport with moderate room rate, if you do not expect a cozy place for relaxation with tranquility and long stay.

The hotel suggests free airport pickup and sending that would take less than 8 minutes. For airport pickup, call the reception and wait 10 minutes at designated place. In a while you can find a hotel staff strolling around holding a sheet of paper printed hotel name on.

They will suggest you a breakfast box if you have to leave too early to have hotel breakfast: simple sandwich, a boiled egg, and a bottle of water.

I stayed in this hotel for two days. The room I had was very clean especially the bathroom. Location of the hotel is near the airport and if you want to go to the city just called the taxi to the airport and then you go by bus cause the price high by taxi.The breakfast in the hotel is average but your stomage will full. Unfortunately while there is swimming pool in this hotel but we can't swim because of the renovation of the pool.,didn't know until when. Cause Yangon is very hot and dusty this hotel is like hidden gem. And as I lover cat 🐈 I was surprised that in this hotel I saw the cute cat in front of the hotel! What a lovely hotel!

Pro:
1) The room is very bright.
2) Pillow has different softness.
3) The room is new.
4) The receptionists are friendly.
5) It provides free airport drop off / pickup.
6) It provides massage services. MMK 8,000 per hour. Hotel guest has 25% discount which is MMK 6,000.
7) WiFi signal is good and fast.
8) Dinner at restaurant was delicious for what I ordered. There were Steamed fish, Tom yum soup and black pepper prawn.
Con:
1) The swimming pool area is lack of regular cleaning. The concrete floor next to the pool has obvious dirty stain.
2) The window curtains can't block the day light. When sun rises, I can feel the day light already. My sleep was disturbed. 2 pictures were taken without turning on any light in the room.
3) The balcony door doesn't have any curtains at all. This is another source of day light that disturbing my sleep.
4) Many mosquito were in the restaurant.
5) Buffet breakfast offered simple choices. Local food, bread, porridge, typical Indian food, fruits.
6) Varieties of TV programs are limited. Only few are English. Signal was not good too.

Only spent a night here. Hotel seemed great. Room very comfy with lots of thoughtful touches. Staff very friendly and helpful. One down side was that the lift doesn't go to the third floor (could be an issue for some) and the rain was so noisy on the roof. Floors 1 and 2 wouldn't have this I'm sure.
