Excellent hotel, welcoming staff.
The location is absolutely beautiful. The mountain views are stunning.
- We stayed at this hotel during the New Year's holidays, so it was a bit chilly. The air conditioning was set to 30 degrees, but the bathroom was freezing cold.
I recommend this hotel for a secluded getaway.

This is a perfect getaway from Kathmandu if you're looking for tranquility, great views and comfort. The mountain views are magnificent, and the sunrise views from the rooftop glorious. There were very people staying at the hotel, but the rooms, common area and beautiful garden appeared well maintained. We were only there for one night, but we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. For both we chose continental options, and felt that they catered well to western tastes. The service was excellent, friendly and professional...we felt quite pampered, but as I said there were few guests so I can't say how it would be if full. It is set well-back from the road, and the drive-way is a bit rough but it's well worth the drive.

Nestled in the forest, away from the main roads, the hotel is very quiet. The architecture resembles a classic castle, with tiered outdoor terraces and naturally simple yet elegant landscaping. Guests can relax, dine, or enjoy the views, moving seamlessly between indoors and outdoors, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, lush greenery, and blooming flowers. Every staff member is very friendly, and the rooms are spacious, offering views of the Himalayas right outside the door.

We loved the Fort. The resort was lovely, the gardens immense and immaculate. The rooms were spacious and comfy. The bed was great. Anil, the Manager and his staff were so friendly, very attentive and we felt very welcomed by them all. We love taking local walks around the town and parts of the valley.

Beautiful hotel with so many flowers around that you felt like you were in a magical garden. The staff always had a smile and took care of every need. My "villa" was in the forest where it was quiet and peaceful, except the day the hotel next to us had a wedding, lol. And the view from the rooftop of the hotel was spectacular despite the haze of the summer. If you're goal is a view of the snow capped mountains, go in September- November. But that did not disappoint me.

Hotel is old, and the bathroom is in original state. However the beds are comfortable, and warm water in the shower arrives after a short while.
The garden villa area is quiet during the night, but might have some insects, mostly just harmless bees visiting the flowers.
All in all a pleasant stay, food is average-good.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, although its 100% male staff.

This hotel "The fort resort" is in Nepal, Nagarkot. It is has impeccable views of mountain range and beautifully maintained gardens. I have personally impressed by the organic and sustainable life style of hotel and life around it. It is best place for any type of age group, family or couples. It is also very peaceful like a pin drop silence in nature. Food prepared by staff is also very simple and tasty.
Best time to visit this place is September - October when the skies are clear , you can see the mountain range quite clearly. In rainy season it will be all cloudy and roads are all muddy.
