My Hotel Pvt Ltd in Pokhara

I booked this hotel yesterday through Booking.com. However, this morning the hotel informed me that they have no rooms available as all are sold out. If there were no rooms, they should not have accepted my booking. This situation caused me great inconvenience and disappointment. Please look into this issue and ensure it doesn’t happen to other guests.

Generally, I feel I am a fairly easy customer to please and rarely do I feel compelled to write a negative review for a business. That being said I had a really really poor experience staying at My Hotel in Pokhara. From the minute I walked in the front door I felt extremely unwelcome. The staff were unfriendly, unwelcoming and downright rude. At every other hotel I have stayed at in Nepal the hospitality has been exceptional.

During our stay I had the hotel do a small load of laundry for us. The staff quoted me 450 npr. When I received the bill I was charged 2700 npr (the equivalent of $27 Cad). When I questioned the charge, I was told it was 6kg of clothing (450 per kg). Firstly, this was not communicated to me from the start and secondly there is absolutely no way this was 6kg of clothing. I do understand and expect to pay a little bit more to have a hotel do laundry but this was beyond reason. I respectfully expressed my displeasure and was laughed at by staff, saying this is just the way it is in Nepal. It felt incredibly rude and disrespectful. I felt taken advantage of. When I asked reception why I was charged for 6kg of clothing when it clearly was'nt there was no disagreement from her but she basically just said this is the bill she received and could do nothing about it.

The room and location is fine but the service was an absolutely horrible experience. It's a real shame because the reviews are generally good for this establishment. I really do think if you are travelling in the area there are plenty of other hotels that actually want your business and want to make your stay pleasant. I would not go back.
