The staff was friendly, and it was a tranquil spot with plenty to do, such as biking and walking. The room was clean but needed updating. The restaurant was the only letdown. It's suitable for vacation, in the forest, the air is very good. Unfortunately, I'm here on a business trip. The facilities are not new, but they are clean and tidy. But if you don't drive yourself, the transportation is a bit inconvenient. When I left, I asked the front desk to help me call a car.

We only stayed there one night as it was very convenient for our purpose. The lady at reception was very friendly and te room was spacious, light and clean, with comfortable beds and a good shower.

The room is generally clean and the equipment is relatively old. I personally prefer hotels with bathtubs and balconies, so I always book a room on the first floor. The room space is just right. The hotel has bicycles for rent and the outdoor environment is very good. Therefore, Apeldoorn is an alternative hotel when I come to Apeldoorn many times. .

The hotel located in the forest, definitely is very quite and good for weekend.

Only stayed for one night and arrived very late didn't see much of the facilities. But it was good that check in was available till late. Breakfast area clean and good variety of food.

Very very small room,it was a very hot summerday and there was no aircondition. Small window to open and a tiny ventilator on the room. Far under the level to recommend this too another person who is travelling allone or wants too stay here..

The small room and shower in de bathroom was under a sloping roof. That's why it wasn't possible to stand there.

Very friendly staff in all aspects. Breakfast buffet is very good. Rooms are adequate, beds are fine. The hotel is very nicely located. Overall, the hotel itself looks a bit tired and really could do with an uplift. Carpeting, stairs, lift etc. all look a bit weary.

The student trainees did a great job, better than most commercial hotel chains, which would be lucky to have them. You’ll enjoy the extra-spacious rooms no matter who you are. The surroundings are bucolic and peaceful.

cosy spot in the very heart of this centuries olde city. friendly staff. fine dutch breakfast. we had a romantic room underneath the roof with eclectic antiquish furniture. some interior details ask for renovation however. despite this, yes, i'd recommend it.

It's not just the hotel. We haven't seen more than the entrance: an old-fashioned cafeteria annex candy store. And we came back for it! In the context of the city you might call it "The old candy shop" Very "gezellig", as the Dutch say.

Nice hotel, great staff. Being an old hospital, the rooms are a bit of a strange configuration (at least ours was). The hotel is located in the restricted vehicle / pedestrian area of town so transporting luggage is a bit more of a chore. Nice stay overall, and good breakfast.

Location unique and my small room was very good against a good price.

It is an historic building, very authentic, that was very nice. But because of that, it was noisy. The city of Deventer is very nice. There was no restaurant in the hotel-building. Only for breakfast. There was a Fletcher-offer : 3 course diner included, and lower price to stay, but because of the lac of a restaurant, they could not give me the offer, they also did not lower the prise.

Walkable from the hotel! We fell in love with this place especially when it was built in the 1700's and was very easy to walk to city centre from the hotel.

Although it is located in Arnhem, it still gives a feeling of being in the middle of the woods. The room is clean, pratical as to be expected from a youth hostel. We stayed in room 315 on April 30-May 2. This hostel felt like summer camp due to the ambience, amenities, and location. It's in a residential area, but feels more secluded because it's on a hill surrounded by trees. Passable but it’s not a hostel just a very very basic hotel. Make and ***** your on bed, no towels provided and no drying room or usable kitchen facilities. It offers nothing more than the very cheapest European hotels

Excellent stopping point. 8 person room used so military style living required. On site bar with friendly staff breakfast is nice and the staff happily provided a pack up breakfast knowing we were leaving at 5am for the return flight. Recommend a car if you're doing the battlefield tour grounds as its a bit out the way but if you have time and energy a bicycle may be fine.

We stayed only one night - one Comfort room and one Luxury room at the coach house - but it was lovely. We had the most magical time here! The property and the surrounding park is incredibly beautiful. The restaurant was delicious, we loved every meal we ate there. The staff were wonderfully kind too. The room was a great size and the bed was really comfortable. We have nothing negative to say, we loved everything!

The location is beautiful. Super that you can just walk into the woods with several well marked routes. Ample spacious free self parking. The building is very nice. The hotel and restaurant staff was impeccable; everyone was friendly and professional. Our room was clean. However there is a bit of a damp smell coming from the bathroom and the bed matters was soft, which for us means not a good night's rest. The breakfast was rather modest. The location of the hotel, and the bus connection to the center of Arnhem are both very good.

Where should I start? The staff, very friendly, caring and with some really good advice on our day trips. Rooms, good size, very comfortable beds, modern, and clean. Parking, sufficient space available and free. Breakfast, super friendly staff and tasty. Overall a great place. Just the staircase is typically Dutch, so pretty steep.

Service and the food is excellent the decor and the ambiance is pleasant although on a busy intersection the traffic isn't a problem. Staff were excellent. Access to the rooms is via a steep staircase. Gas opposite which is handy for through travellers also a bus stop if you want to get to the centre of Arnhem

Well what can I say about this place? It's was amazing lovely beds to sleep in great food but the staff are out of this world. You can have a good laugh with them they are very respectful and couldn't to enough for me..I highly recommend this hotel to all my British brothers and sisters... Limited transport to the hotel

It’s a great hotel, very spacious rooms, nice interior design in the main entrance and areas, the whole vibe is luxurious and modern. The beds are comfortable, the personnel is friendly and professional, the food is really good. Then the area around is so beautiful, definitely go to park de Hoge Veluwe and take a bike, or go for a hike. Stunning!

I feel I overpaid for the room based on the following: Room was not clean. Sheets had dirt on them and the walls in washroom area were greasy. Shower was missing glass and it made a mess while showering. No breakfast was included even at this room price. The breakfast buffet was amazing! 10/10

Super dated room. Bathroom looked like it hadn't been renovated since the 70s. The room smelled of sweaty feet and wouldn't air out. Popcorn ceiling and walls with no decorations made it look slightly more cheery than a jail cell. On top of all that, the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything your neighbors were doing and when they were walking on the floor above. Would never stay here...

Quiet location, easy access from motorways, friendly staff

Hotel Papendal is a no frills contemporary yet comfortable basic stay hotel used for the Dutch Olympics team. Amazing value, but you get what you expect. Food in the bar wasn't great, but plenty of places nearby to visit instead. Would recommend for a stay when visiting the Airborne Museum ‘Hartenstein’ in Oosterbeek.

This is a design hotel. If you like design: Bingo. If you like function: Sorry (!). Your partner is showering: sorry, bath is under water - can't go to the loo! However, there are four shops nearby that are essential for accomplishing your trip to the Netherlands, two of which are foreigner-friendly and well-reviewed, so it's quite accessible. Welcoming staff and a trendy and beautifully lit room with an extremely comfortable bed. Massive sunken jacuzzi and a steam shower with more heads than I could count. Very lovely, privately owned Café and offering a few guest rooms/suits. I stayed one week for a business trip and enjoyed the warm atmosphere and the great design. My suit had a great size, a steam bath and very modern style. I'd assume that all rooms/suits are less than 2 years old. The excellent and welcoming service in the Café was outstanding. Went here in the middle of covid-19 lockdown. Staff do what they can with what they have at the moment, but the food could be better at the price they charge.
