The room is very close to the Macheng Railway Station, about a five-minute walk from the station. You can get there by following the navigation. The introduction says that the room has a kitchen (but it actually doesn't). The front desk management is chaotic, and there were questions and troubles during check-in and check-out due to fees, which required some communication!
The advantage is the geographical location. There is free tea and coffee in the lobby on the first floor.

Great place! Near the station, cosy cafe attached. Not a fan of the separate duvets on a double bed, but otherwise a perfect stay.

Great location; walking distance to the centre. Friendly staff and appreciate the welcome snacks and lounge area with free coffee and tea. Definitely will stay again when on business trip again in the city.

I stayed there about 10 years ago and since I had a good experience I thought I would try it again. My stay this time was as nice as the first time. They updated the room decors, of course. Breakfast is expensive, like in all hotel, but they can accommodate you with gluten free bread if you a dietary restrictions.

The staff here are exceptional and the little extras make it very homely. We loved the games, the free soup and the room was perfect for our needs. We could easily walk into town.

We booked the grand room as advertised on ********** which was the largest room, with a city view and a large bath. We had been riding in torrential rain for hours and decided to treat ourselves. We were allocated one of the XL rooms, as soon as we walked it it was clear it was nothing like the photos and didn't even have a bath. Went down to question this with the staff. We we allocated a room with a bath. However this room was smaller than the first and had view of nothing really. Again I went to reception and asked why we weren't given the grand room we had booked. The man on reception said there was an error on the site, he said no XL rooms have a bath. I brought up the photo of the room we thought we had booked and asked where it is in the hotel and was told it isn't in the hotel. So save your money and don't bother trying to book the grand room, it doesn't exist. On going to bed we noticed the sheet on the bed has a hole in it. We have been offered complimentary breakfast and a partial refund to be confirmed in the morning. Oh and there's no washer & dryer to use, that was also advertised. We explained that we had booked this hotel for the specifics detailed on ********* if we had known it was false advertising we'd have booked elsewhere.

Delicious food. Home made and fresh. Different beers to try too. Friendly staff. Lovely ambiance and music playing. Would come back or come again. Steee was had by the majority and a burger for 1 all finished, clear plates!

Perfect location for a hotel, as De Poshoorn is only a five minute walk away from Maastricht’s railway station and conveniently located on the main thoroughfare that connects the heart of Maastricht with the aforementioned train station.

The bathroom is clean and modern, the room modest although a bit small in size - so there wasn’t a closet I could store my luggage in.

Staff was friendly and helpful, I’d definitely recommend De Poshoorn if you are looking for a place to stay during a weekend in Maastricht. That, and they have a dope patio with nice views of the surrounding architecture 👌🏻
