It was soooo great to stay there.....In the middle of the nature and have a nice fresh air.The apartment room was excellent! The breakfast was incredibly delicious. The staff were absolutely friendly. Everything were perfect and good timing.!

The location is very convenient (a few minutes off the A79) and sitting on the edge of town, which allows for a quiet atmosphere. The conference center and coffee shop are well appointed and outfitted with modern conveniences and options for any meeting size. The team supporting the Chateau are excellent and provide high quality service with speed and efficiency.

Fantastic place!! Very friendly and well informed staff, great facilities and beautiful outdoor area. Will definitely visit again!

Good Location easy access to motorway and walkable to town centre in 5/10 minutes which has some lovely restaurants, Good power shower. Nice outside space and secure gated parking on site. Slow Wi-Fi in our room just 1 bar but maybe different for other rooms. Decor needs update and carpets etc bathroom was ok ish but could do with a thorough clean. Very strange Bar payment system having to collect...

We recently stayed at Hotel Schaepkens in Valkenburg with a group of 40 school students on a music tour, and the experience was excellent. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout, and the hotel had a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Ok Smelled terrible in the room. Awful room freshener. Maybe to try to cover up the smell of cigarettes/tobacco in the toilet? Staff were very kind. We were waked up early in the morning where they came in to check our towels?? Also not able to put occupied on the door… Overall ok place. Not coming back though.

Stayed for a short break visiting the Christmas markets. Good location and accessible to the town. Hotel rooms a little dated but clean and warm with housekeeping daily. Food good choice and plenty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good stay for a few nights.

A wonderful stay! The hotel was very comfortable, with a delicious breakfast that started the day off right. The beds were perfect; we slept wonderfully. Definitely recommended for a relaxing and enjoyable overnight stay.

Not bad. The style is like “ The Student Hotel”, neat, modern and tidy. Walking distance to city center, cave and Thermae 2000.  I brought my own extra blanket as I m sensitive to coldness.

I paid 200 Euros more for the rescheduled stay. It was an unpleasant experience. The room was not up to the 4-star standard. I will not stay there again.

The facilities and restaurant are top notch. The rooms are on the small side but otherwise fine. Staff was friendly, did not regret coming here.

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff. We liked the small spa and really enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and the big breakfast.

Our room was spacious and bathroom was large, and the bed was comfy. There was daily maid service and towels changed every day. Meals were good with plenty of choice The hotel is in a very good position close to amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was OK but nothing special. They didn't accept cash for drinks but tokens which cost money to buy (surely it would be more simple to just take our cash and give me my beer). Breakfast was nice but the dinners were (in my opinion) bad. The hotel rooms were modern and clean. Staff were friendly and The Netherlands is a nice country with cool people but can't give this anymore than 3*

Lovely room. Location is great, quiet area but close to the main town. Breakfast buffet was brilliant, evening meal a bit bland and disappointing - but we were on a package deal so probably to be expected.

Old but updated hotel. Situated near to cafes, bars etc. Very pleasant, friendly staff. Good quality food served at table. Breakfast is S-S. Well stocked cosy bar. Really enjoyed time there.

The location is very close to Valkenburg Caves, Castle ruins and the centrum. Just 12 minutes away from the train station by walking. Staff is very helpful. Despite i arrived 3 hours earlier than the check in time, they arranged it quickly and i was in my room just in 5 minutes! They also upgraded my room to a bigger one without an extra cost. Thoroughly undeserving of its four-star rating. The food, nevertheless, is quite good, the location allows for immediate access to local attractions and pedestrian areas, and the service is professional and unobtrusive.

Pros: good location, own parking for 5 euros day, very friendly stuff. Min: Bed matras is too soft in the middle, couldn't sleep good. Very poor isolation, I heard neighbours in the corridor and people on the street. Breakfast is very limited vegetarian options, NO SALADS, NO VEGETABLES, NO savory dishes like HOUMOUS, NO NUTS, NO COTTAGE CHEESE, NO MUSLI ,one morning we had sliced tomatoes and cucumbers...

Nice hotel, but meagre breakfast

It is nothing special. The rooms are OK. They are clean and large enough. We stayed over in July, and it was relatively warm in the room. The rooms look a bit outdated. Breakfast was OK—a nice buffet with good options.

Managed to get a 40 euro room, because I was stuck in Valkenburg due to NS train personnel strikes. Got a small and minimalistic but very clean and tidy room. Including a nice breakfast buffet with enough options. It was perfect as a 'checkpoint'.

Pros - This place has an on-site car park behind the hotel. However, you still have to pay for it. Cheaper than in town though. If your room comes with breakfast, they serve a good spread. Cleanliness and staff firendliness is good. Cons- Interior of our room needed maintenance and upgrading. Room had a broken and hastily repaired lock. Wasn't able to lock door from inside.

Verry old hotel, rooms are old, carpet on the floor. Bathroom with hottub i booked this. Hotel is empty, parking € 7,50 per day. Busstop about 2 mins walking. Walk to the city with lots of terrasses and restaurants,nice and ok. Will i come back...nope 🥴

I have been coming back for years. Friendly and good value. Large car park and breakfast included. Limited dining options, but good value for hotel food. See you in 2019

Staff was very kind and helpful. The room was big, and more than that, it was nearly an apartment! A separate room for our daughter, a toilet separate from the shower,... coffee machine included in the room. Across the street, they had their own parking, and the hotel was situated less than 5 minutes walking from the restaurants street. And breakfast was good.

Nice hotel in the city center. The Christmas market and shopping street was just to the hotel. The rooms were neat and the staff were kind. Price of the room was ok compared to others in the area, not too expensive. The breakfast is provided in the hotel and it was the delicious. They provide variety of breads, croissant, butter, cheese, chocolate spreads, fresh fruits etc. There was also cornflakes...

Just a few days away, so we booked quite last-minute. Upon arrival, we were given a lovely room on the ground floor due to elevator repairs/maintenance. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of rolls and toppings. The hotel doesn't have its own restaurant, but that shouldn't be a problem in Valkenburg. We chose this hotel for: its central location, the ease of parking (paid), the junior suite on the ground floor and its large bathroom with bathtub (recently renovated), the comfortable bedding, the breakfast buffet. We still regret the poor soundproofing (noise from the street, neighboring rooms, corridors... in short, it's noisy, but fortunately it's very quiet at night) and the quality of the services...

The welcome was friendly and good, the room was clean but not spectacular for the price we paid. We also found the staff friendly and did their job well. One major drawback is that I had indicated in my reservation that someone was vegan and that they would take that into account. Five days before arrival, I called the hotel again and asked if they would be willing to accommodate someone who was vegan...

Good location, paid for parking available although we didn't use it. Staff friendly enough. The photos of the rooms on ******* don't reflect the rooms, or at least the one we had. Our room on the first floor facing the car park smelt of cigarettes, possibly from people smoking directly downstairs. There are some seatings to the front of the hotel where smoking is permitted so you always walk in to...

Good value for price: good beds & breakfast, quiet area night time and located close to historic city centre.

Clean, friendly and there's a garage for the motorcycle. There's also two charge points for electric vehicles. Hotel price is what you'd expect but the parking is cheap.

This is a charming little hotel, ideal to stay at if you’re visiting the area. Definitely book a room with a balcony as it’s lovely to sit outside early in the morning and late at night with a coffee enjoying the warm weather with a view over the square with its cafés and watching the ducks on the canal below. It was terribly hot, no ventilation, no aircon, with a window open - too noisy and light from the street. Good I found earplugs conveniently left for guests. Low ceilings, steep stairs.

Botterweck staff were extremely helpful and positive. Breakfast was great each morning. Room was large and beautiful.

Quite a nice family run hotel. Went with my sister it is about 2hours on the train from Amsterdam.

This is a small hotel within 10 minute walking distance of the town centre. It's very cosy, with the seasonal decor (December stay) adding to the armosphere, and clean, and the owners are very hospitable and helpful. Heating system is great; you'll feel warm and toasty with -1 outside. Breakfast consists of a huge spread that gets you going well into the afternoon.

Rémy and Desiree are hoteliers at heart. Great warm welcome, very clean rooms and a decent breakfast. Very unfortunate that we had to break down due to lockdown. Valkenburg was empty and quiet. But we will definitely come back to Remi and Desiree

Nice hotel within walking distance of the center of Valkenburg and a stone's throw from the station. I've stayed here with the road bike and it turned out to be a perfect base. The hotel itself is spotless, the owners are super friendly and the breakfast is simple, but fine. Do not expect a polonaise in terms of atmosphere in the hotel, but you will have nothing to complain about when it comes to sleep...

Good location for town centre, 10 minute walk from train station, rooms are ensuite clean and made up every day, great continental breakfast good variety more than sets you up for the day. Hosts cannot do enough for you.

I totally loved the hospitality by the lovely couple (the owners)!! The lady serves the breakfast with all love, which makes it even more filling!!! :) Small yet warm place. And affordable too

We had a great stay in a simple yet tidy room. The temperature was just right, and having a small fridge was super convenient. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was excellent. While €100 for one night felt a bit pricey, it was reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The only thing to note is that the tourist tax (€5) had to be paid in cash. Parking was free and conveniently located...

Clean spacious rooms. Fully equipped. The breakfast is good, wide choice. A nice half hour walk to the center of Valkenburg. Nice quiet hotel. Downside, there are some tiles on the terrace on the first floor. Makes it a bit noisy. Other than that, the hotel is in good order. Worth repeating 👍

Comfy and covid19 safe place with a welcoming host, good breakfast and great surroundings. The only drawback was that the views from the motel itself wasn't great. Great value!

A manager who has owned this establishment for 22 years. By renovating and investing, this is a nice hotel with 8 rooms equipped with toilet, shower. In the café downstairs you get a good draft beer that is carefully cared for. The locals come here a lot. Comfort is of paramount importance here.

5 stars for the price. Unbelievable how quiet the room was while the bar was going at full force (during Xmas). Breakfast was also amazing considering the super low price. Could now have expected anything better.
