Reviews
I had an iPad accidentally left behind after my stay, and the team at Met Hotel Amsterdam handled the situation incredibly well. They were quick to respond, kept me informed, and arranged international shipping back to the UK with impressive speed — even several days after I had already left Amsterdam.
The level of professionalism, kindness, and efficiency shown by the staff was exceptional. They genuinely went above and beyond to help, and it made a stressful situation completely painless.
I can’t thank the team enough and would absolutely recommend this hotel — not just for the stay, but for the outstanding customer service.
Pros:
Friendly staff
Easy access to supermarket
Clean and well-maintained spaces
Great cocktails
Cons:
The rooms differ from what's advertised online. The beds are small and difficult to sleep on, the room only contains one single mirror, no cold place to store drinks/food, and not even a toilet brush. Overall, the room is only half complete.
BE WARNED: The kitchen is permanently closed and the dining menu is limited. The kitchen has been closed since April, and this had not been communicated to us until we arrived. Frustratingly, the hotel on serves pre-made pizzas in the evenings for over EUR16. There's not many dining/restaurant options in the vicinity.
Travel to city centre:
Whilst all credit must go to the city's impeccable public transport system, the hotel is still a long journey away from the city centre so you must make your time there worthwhile. The walk to Vondelpark is in fact 41 minutes from the hotel.
Construction noises:
We often woke up to loud construction noises which was a huge inconvenience in the mornings
Exterior hotel maintenance:
The outside of the hotel was ridden with litter and we did catch a few sightings of mice coming out of the bushes (but understand this would be particularly hard to manage). We were pretty underwhelmed by the location
This is the first time we have felt misled by the positive reviews we had read before booking with Met Hotel, and unfortunately will be our first and last time staying at this hotel.
The location of the hotel was outside the centre of Amsterdam, but it's very close to Postjesweg metro station which made it very easy to travel round the city. We'd definitely stay here again should we return to Amsterdam!
A small suggestion would be to add a side table or raised surface in the room for snacks or small items. Overall, we’d definitely recommend this hotel and would happily return!
The service staff are also very friendly and talkative
The only downside is that it is a little far from the city and there is no space to put clothes in the shower room.
Very cost-effective, I like it very much
