We enjoyed our stay here. The front desk service was great, with very informative and polite staff. I’m giving only 3 stars because the hotel is dated, there are no elevators, and there is no air conditioning in the room. However, the location is amazing, which makes it worth it.

We asked if possible, could we have a low floor and they assigned us a room on the first floor - very much appreciated The room was spacious and all aspects were very clean, bright, and comfortable. We chose this hotel because of it's quirky and very individual feel. Whilst we were there we heard that it had been in the Wiechmann family for 3 generations, until Covid came along and they sold to a hotel chain, not a big one, but that they intend to update and refirbish the hotel. If this is true, please DON'T! It's a gem of Amsterdam, keep it that way, that 'family owned' feel ....please! The lounge/sitting room is beautiful, which looks out onto the canals and passing bicycles, with free tea and coffee 24/7 The dining room is also beautiful, filled with sunshine and overlooks the same street and the breakfast is varied and plentiful. The location is perfect for exploring either on foot or tram - 17, 2 and 24, just three of the numbers that take you directly to Central Station from the junction of Prinsengracht & Leidesgracht (the stop is about a 7 mins walk from hotel)

Wonderful authentic hotel right on the canal. Breakfast included … a reasonable selection of pastries etc. extremely steep stairs … fortunately I have the double canal view room on the first floor which is just adorable

Such a terrible experience. Very noisy rooms. Very uncollaborative and unfriendly staff. I could hear the guests next door talking normally and walking, as well as the guest above my room. I asked to change room, even if it meant paying extra. I told them I was pregnant and lack of sleep was harder at the moment. The lady told me that 2 rooms were available but since they were above my room type, I had to make a new reservation to book one, which also meant loosing the money of the 2 nights I had yet to spend. I told her it did not make sense at all, which she agreed to. She looked at me and said that I should buy ear plugs, which I found quite stupid. Her excuse was that it was an old building, then either be clear about it and write it upfront, or look for solutions. On that day I reported this to Booking. The hotel then messaged me in the afternoon to tell me it would be possible to change room, without giving any info on price, asking me to return within 15 mins as cleaning service would be gone. I of course could not as I was out, and explained to them that I would not pay an entire new reservation and loosing the 2 remaining night I had paid, unless they had another proposal. They never replied.

An incredible, lovely hotel with so much character and charm everywhere you look. I love every detail about this hotel, the lobby is so cozy and our room was perfect and felt unique. The complimentary breakfast in the morning and 24/7 warm coffee drinks/tea station were especially wonderful touches that made me feel valued and truly welcomed as a guest. I am so glad that we chose to stay here for our trip and I hope to be lucky to come back!!

Perfect location, central but not too busy, walking distance to everything. A historic building with a lot of quaint touches, the hotel still meets modern expectations with comfortable beds and pristine bathrooms. Staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast room, looking out to Prinsengracht and a bridge over it, was a favourite spot to start the day.

Location amazing. Staff really friendly. Other hotels are bigger but you would need to get transport into the centre every day. This hotel was fab, on the canals and right in the middle of the chaotic Amsterdam. If we ever return to Amsterdam, we will book to stay here without no doubt.

Great location, close to everything and friendly staff, breakfast has everything you need to get through until lunch. The lobby is beautiful. Rooms are a bit dated and mould in the bathroom. The walls are really thin and you can hear everything (I recommend earplugs, if you need a good sleep).

it is an old hotel with an old stairway and narrow .The staff is friendly and overall ,it was a good experience.the room was not the most upgraded but the view of the canal made it worthwhile.Hotel in a nice part of Amsterdam Will go back definitely
