Very atmospheric and cosy place to stop and eat. You can taste local musk-ox here as well, next to good Norwegian food, grilled meats, sausages and fish. Good plates of food for decent prices. The beautiful Dovrefjell park surrounds this magical place full of wooden furniture and woodcarvings. Right on the pilgrim's way and right beside the main road. We'll come back here as often as we can!

A wonderful wild haven in wonderful scenery between the brilliant Trondheim and historical Dombas. I've been there twice and will go again in 2026. You may not see a muskox in the wild but a muskox burger is something else, and close up indeed

An absolutely top-notch destination. We stayed there for five nights. The location was perfect as a starting point for hikes and other excursions. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Excellent host. Booked a last minute stay here for 4 people (2 rooms) and they were immaculate. Had a great stay here a few days ago. Beautiful location (just a few minutes away from one of the best viewpoints in Geiranger) and very welcoming host. Ian has been hosting for a while and has a cute travel book where previous guests leave notes of appreciation (including those from Brazil, Israel and Singapore!)

Close to the center. Sufficiently large apartment; with a small kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom on the second floor. Stairs to the second floor a little extreme (too steep). For the off-season, however, the price is a little too high.

The room was homey and more spacious than expected. Shower pressure was excellent. A lot of effort has gone into the hotel's interior design, and each hotel room has its own theme and character. Free bicycle rental on site.

Rooms were okay apart from the fact that at least some of them didn't have kitchens. Shower water was extremely hot for some reason. Also the rooms don't include any eating equipment.

This was an excellent spur of the moment stop during our road trip through Norway. The rooms were clean and comfortable (heated bathroom floors were an added bonus). The hotel declares as it has pool, but appearantely it doesn’t belong to the same company. They are charging extra for that. Lovely stay at Finnøy Lovely hotel on the island of Finnøy. We had great weather, but I expect weather can be a bit harsh since it is basically next to the Atlantic Ocean. It's a good hotel; Modern, comfortable, perfectly-located, great views in some rooms, good quality food... But the unfriendliness of some staff and general service makes it a bit worse. Coming from the UK, we'd never really come across the 'Fjellstue' concept - it's somewhere between a full hotel, and a hostel. Amazing location. Comfortable rooms and balconies. However, paid around $30 (289 NOK) per person for a buffet dinner of chicken and pasta that was reheated and dry... and gave us diarrhea. So, if you come on an off-day (not Friday or Saturday nights) it might be best to bring food or go down the mountain for some fresh grub. Pre booked the day before. Arrived and went to our pitch. As we were the only people there we moved to a different pitch. You get to choose your pitch online but you don’t know where it is. So we moved. Better view, and same price. Some road noise, but nothing too intrusive. Facilities could do with updating, but there were clean with good hot water. The views over the water were beautiful.
