Overall Experience
We stayed at Bunks at Rode for five nights with my spouse, choosing a private room (they also offer shared rooms). Overall, the experience was extremely positive, and I genuinely felt that I got more than what I paid for.

✨ Cleanliness (5/5)
Cleanliness was one of the strongest aspects of our stay. The bed sheets, pillows, mattress, bathroom, toilet, and kitchenette were all spotless. Our private room included a small but very functional kitchen, equipped with everything we needed during our stay.
In addition to the room, the general cleanliness of the entire building was consistently high, which really added to the comfort and peace of mind.

⚡ Staff & Service (5/5)
The staff were polite, friendly, and genuinely eager to help. The reception team, in particular, stood out with their professionalism and kindness.
Bunks at Rode offers self check-in and check-out, which works smoothly, but it’s also nice to know that staff are always available if you prefer personal assistance.

🌿 Design & Atmosphere (5/5)
The interior design of the hotel/hostel was something I really enjoyed. Modern, stylish, and thoughtfully arranged—everything felt cohesive and pleasant. The lighting throughout the building and inside the room was well planned and contributed to a comfortable atmosphere.

🛏 Room Comfort (5/5)
The bed comfort was very good, allowing us to rest well after long days out. Lighting inside the room was practical and cozy at the same time. The private bathroom setup was clean, modern, and functional.

🌇 Terrace
The terrace is beautiful and a great bonus, especially in warmer months. However, a small note for future guests: I wouldn’t strongly recommend the terrace during winter, as it’s less enjoyable due to weather conditions.

💸 Value for Money From a price–performance perspective, this place truly delivers. We didn’t pay a high price, yet received clean, comfortable accommodation, good service, and a well-designed space. For Grünerløkka and Oslo standards, this is a very fair and balanced option.

📌 Final Thoughts Bunks at Rode is a great choice whether you’re looking for a private room or shared accommodation. Clean, well-designed, friendly, and excellent value for money. I’d happily stay here again and confidently recommend it to others visiting Oslo.

Very great hostel, good vibe, organized and stylish. The bed has private space. Bed is soft and blanket is in good quality. Bed is ready for you to step in, no need to make a bed. Shared space is very cool and organized.

The vibe here is fun and cool! The room is pretty basic, but having a kitchen and fridge makes it so worth it. It’s cheap for what you get, and it’s right next to Kiwi and close to the tram.

It was such a nice place spend two nights at this place and didn’t find anything wrong . You have all the stuff over there like oven fridge and a coffee machine . I did enjoy my stay at this place like a home and the best part for me was that there is a mosque very near to it

The hostel is good in several ways: the service is friendly, the place is clean and well organized, and the price is reasonable for the quality. It has a dining room, a small kitchen, a bar, and even a cinema. The floor of the shower is heated, which is an amazing detail.

The accommodation was excellent. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was spotless. The front desk staff were responsible and helpful, even assisting with train information. The atmosphere was great too. It offers excellent value for money and is the cleanest and best hostel I've ever stayed in.

Great night sleep in a great location with great staff on site. I will be returning.
And the store next door makes eating in super easy.

The location is far from tourist attractions but reachable with public transportation. Walking from central station takes around 40 mins depends on your walk pace. The hostel is very much set up and professional. Clean and well-designed rooms. There is a big supermarket just next to the building. Luggage storage is the paid one. Kitchen doesn’t allow us to cook, only microwave and hot water are available but it’s very spacious.

Fantastic place. I got a single room and it was top. Super clean, warm and lovely. Cozy bed. Loved the kitchenette. And the bar on the 2nd floor is nice and relaxing. Overall, loved it and will stay again. Also, transportation is so easy. This is a great neighbourhood and it’s close to everything by shirt tram ride!

I was very happy with my stay at Bunks at Rode. The hostel is very modern with its own quirky twists in its decor and facilities. I loved that the restroom facilities were outside of rooms, and I loved the rooms themselves!

The rooftop terrace is a really nice touch.

The staff were friendly and the place was spotless. Very recommended for hostel-goers!
