Clarion Collection Hotel Bastion

First of all the food was great at the hotel. We enjoyed the great variety at the breakfast buffet and the dinner options were good as well.
There is complimentary tea and coffee all day long at the lobby.
The hotel is perfectly situated if you want to discover downtown. The central station is only a 10minutes walk away and so is the opera house.
Unfortunately our room was facing the street and it was quiet loud out there (a small street, a major street with a tunnel entrance and a few other streets around) it was almost impossible to have the window open during the night + you had to have the curtains to be closed, because the light of the tunnel entrance was so bright.
Our room was okay. We had two single beds, but the mattress were too soft we had back pain every morning. The bathroom was right next to the one bed and it was tiny. Small shower, toilet and sink. You couldn’t open the bathroom door without beeing afraid to hurt the other person in the room.
There was no space at all in the bathroom to put your belongs.
The room had wooden floors which I really appreciated being allergic.
The staff was always really friendly and happy to have a talk. We got some great recommendations and felt very welcome.
It would be great if the beds would get some real mattresses.

Arrival:
We could easily stop the car in front of the hotel in order to check-in and bring our suitcases to the room.

Car parking:
There is a public parking garage located about 5 minutes by foot. We had to pay 400 NOK per day, which was already the reduced price. But hey, it's Oslo :)

Hotel staff:
Very friendly and helpful. At the reception, the cleaning personnel and those working at the food.

Food:
Breakfast and dinner (which is also included) was great. You can always get water, coffee and tea for free. What I appreciated with the breakfast was that every day they ordered something different, so it did not get boring.

Room:
It was fine. Our room was quiet and clean. It was also large enough. There was a modern Samsung Smart TV. Only downside was the bathroom, which was very tight.

Location:
It can't get any better. It is on a calm street. The opera, central station and the fortress are just a 10 minute walk away.

Stayed 5 days in this hotel. Two adults and one child. Good size room. The bathroom was on the small side but it worked for us. Good breakfast, great afternoon cake and ok evening meal. Free fruit and coffe/tea 24/7. Reception staff was always helpful.

Pleasant stay, it’s convenient that breakfast and dinner are included, the location is excellent just next to the Opera house. A special thanks to Gesa, she welcomed us in German and had a keen interest to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Had a wonderfull, quiet room. Really great breakfast, there was also a complimentary lunch and late evening meal included. Very central. Will stay there again!!

A nice hotel placed in the heart of Oslo. Very friendly and serviceminded staff. Good food and drinkselection during meals. 2 blocks away from Karl Johan street and the main trainstation.

Receptive, helpful, friendly workers all around.. Rooms typical of Europe and smartly design except for the bathroom is way to small though can hardly get in and out.
