🌍
Spain, Denia, Carretera Las Rotes, 21
● Center: 2.8 km
🌞 Beach - 8 min

Guests praise the tropical gardens and tranquil atmosphere, describing it as a "stunning small hotel" with "lovely ambience" and "top class" grounds. Many reviews highlight excellent air conditioning and cleanliness, with beds and linen generally rated good. Free parking and proximity to a snorkeling beach are appreciated by visitors who used the hotel's complimentary bikes. The staff are noted as friendly and helpful in several reviews, with some guests mentioning good English language skills at reception. Multiple guests report poor soundproofing and noise disturbances, including barking dogs from surrounding residences and noise from neighboring rooms. Bathroom maintenance is inconsistent: issues such as leaking showers, broken shower handles, and aged fixtures were frequently mentioned. Breakfast service is criticized for being sparse and poorly replenished, with some guests finding the buffet empty late in the morning. WiFi is weak or nearly non-existent inside rooms but acceptable in outdoor areas; some facilities like hairdryers and USB charging ports are lacking or subpar. The hotel’s location is quite isolated, requiring a long walk to town and sandy beaches, making a car necessary for most guests.

Description

Hotel Palau Verd Adults Only is a three-star hotel in Denia designed exclusively for adult guests, ensuring a quieter stay. It offers a wide variety of room types, including standard and superior rooms, many with balconies and sea or water views. The hotel features amenities such as air conditioning, free WiFi in common areas, a restaurant, bar, garden, pool, sauna, massage services, and free parking. Guests appreciate the well-maintained tropical gardens and the peaceful atmosphere away from the town center. However, rooms vary in maintenance quality, with some guests noting issues like poor soundproofing, dated bathrooms, and occasional unpleasant odors. The hotel enforces a strict no-children policy and allows pets for an additional fee. Breakfast is served a la carte between 8:30 and 11:00, though some reviews mention it can be sparse or inconsistently replenished.

Location

Located on Carretera Las Rotes, Hotel Palau Verd lies about 510 meters from La Marineta Cassiana beach, a rocky nature reserve beach just a short walk away. The hotel is situated in a residential area approximately a 25 to 50-minute walk from Denia’s town center, making a car advisable for exploring local amenities. The nearby restaurant Samaruc Denia, rated 9/10, is just 227 meters away. Alicante El Altet Airport (ALC) is 84 km from the hotel, making it accessible for international travelers. Free parking is available on site, an advantage given the quieter, less central location.

We've stayed here many times over the years and it's still the very nice small hotel that it's always has been. The breakfast is a bit hit and miss which seems to depend on how many guests are staying. The WiFi was pretty much non-existent in our room but the WiFi in the grounds was just about ok. The room was an ok size. Bed and linen were good. Aircon was excellent. Hairdryer was truly appalling. Water pressure and hot water was good. It's an isolated hotel so you'll need a car and in summer you're a 50 minute walk into town unless you wish to arrive dripping in sweat. Closest sandy beach is in town. There is a rocky nature reserve beach 200 yards away.

The hotel is situated in a residential area and the neighbouring dogs barking throughout the night means we will no longer be coming back, which is a shame.

The hotel is very well located, but not in line with the price they offer (€183/night with breakfast). The reasons are as follows: - The breakfast buffet was practically empty at 10:00 am; we had to constantly ask the waitress for milk or to refill the stands with products, as they were empty. - You can hear everything in the rooms; they have very poor soundproofing. - The bathrooms were very neglected and quite old for the price of the hotel; water leaked from the shower in ours, the toilet seat was almost broken, and it was in very poor condition. - The beds are very hard but very small. - The garage ramp (entrance/exit) offers no visibility of oncoming cars and is very steep. - When we complained at checkout about the problems in our room and the constant noise from the room next to ours, they told us they couldn't do anything... (the staff and the service we received were quite poor for the price of the hotel per night).

What a gem of a hotel, from the reception girls to the room and to the gardens. Everything was top class. While away and our or four in the lush tropical gardens while relaxing on comfortable seating as soft relaxing music plays in the background. One thing to mention, travel with your own USB charger as there aren't any here. Many thanks for making our stay with you the best.

This is a lovely tranquil oasis outside of town. I enjoyed it very much, but they need to pay a bit more attention to maintenance. The jets in my tub did not work, the wooden roll up shade on the door out to my patio would not roll up all the way, my patio had not been swept, and I could only take a bath, not a shower, because the handle on the shower fixture was broken.

The hotel is very nice and in a great location. It's a shame about the staff; they weren't very attentive. Details like running out of shampoo or breakfast not being replenished are unforgivable. By the way, the breakfast is decent in terms of quality but VERY meager. If these issues had been addressed, my experience would probably have been a five-star instead of a three. Please take this into account, owners.

We arrived to this lovely hotel and got a great first impression. Lovely garden area and a friendly and helpful receptionist who spoke great English. Once I opened the door to our room, I immediately got an unpleasant sewage smell. I aired the room and hoped it would go away. The room was basic and lacked any character and the bathroom was even more basic. The smell didn’t go away so I asked if we could be moved. Unfortunately the hotel was full so no luck there. I was advised later that the cleaning lady checked it and the smell was gone. Needless to say it wasn’t. We went out that evening and when we returned the gates were locked. Reception was closed so we couldn’t get into the hotel grounds. We climbed over the gate!! Again reception was closed the following morning so I couldn’t even make a complaint. All very disappointing

Decent breakfast, cute hotel grounds, very nice staff, some of the facilities could be renovated (example: shower).

Ok - so if you want to be in the hustle and bustle of Denia this isn’t the place for you, it’s a good 25 minute walk out of town. If you want a stunning small hotel, lovely ambience, great vista, free parking, just a short walk from great snorkelling beach, lovely breakfast, quiet, nice pool, friendly staff, amazing value for money- this is the place to book. As I write this it’s 01.00 sat in lovely garden sipping a glass of wine. Hardly seen another guest since we arrived. Love this place

We didn’t get to stay in this property, so impossible to review , we were moved to another hotel in the group , because of low occupancy, however on our first night we were the only people in the new hotel everything shut bar restaurant and front door at 4pm , we were alone all night . , not happy , I also booked Palu Verde as an adults only , , the new hotel was not and didn’t want children around , if I did I wouldn’t have requested an adult only hotel , I called ******* the next day and miraculously the bar stayed open , I have been offers a £110 voucher , not good enough , more people did arrive towards the weekend, including children !! The Hotel we were moved to was lovely and the staff when there were great but it was not what I booked . This will be taken further.

Overall we liked it but found it too far from the beach, 15 min to the very rocky shore and another 10 to the sandy beach, most of it with no shade. To town, easily 40 min. However they have a couple of bicycles you can use. The pool was nice and clean although small. But there is a lot of road noise. A million plants make it pleasant. Really big fluffy towels, that will not get washed if you hang them ? Their coffee was the only thing we had, pretty tasty. Very little privacy in the rooms in the first floor. The lower floor had small terraces. We saw a lot of people use those for smoking. Our room and the hotel were clean. Service was pleasant but spotty, ie: booked it online for 3 nights, decide on one more, called to add, I was told I would get an email but instead my contact in Spain got a phone call. But when we arrived there was only record for three nights and worried if we had to look for somewhere else. All worked out.
Free parking is helpful. The shower, as you can see in the picture, was very whimsical, water pressure is medium to low. Beds are kind of hard, European style, we slept well. But they are within a metal frame. Which makes it very noisy if you move while on the bed. The side tables looked good but were very rickety, I almost knocked one over without meaning too. The blinds were squeaky but made the room nicely dark. Pleasant stay, would recommend if you don't want to walk to town or the beach.
