Basic, very clean room as per the description with a tiled floor, good ensuite! The hotel is situated on an island in the middle of the Nervion river, and I felt totally safe at night walking back to the hotel on the island!
The hotel manager kindly highlighted spots to visit on a map he gave me. The cleaning lady was very helpful and kind, thanks very much to her for her assistance!
As others have mentioned, breakfast isn't provided but there is a coffee machine and cakes etc served only at very specific times in a very nice but cold dining room with chairs that are hard to get comfortable in.
I walk reasonably well and I found that Deusto metro was approximately 15 minutes walk from the hotel and San Mames more like a 25 minute walk away.

Bright airy room. Friendly manager. We parked a hundred metres away on the street for free. We could have taken the metro into town but walked instead and what a good idea. 45 minutes across the Frank Gehry Bridge, along the river embankment, past the famous San Mamés Stadium, and Guggenheim museum further up, the kind of walk we didn’t go on when we previously stayed in the centre of town. A lovely walk

The price for a night at this hotel was very reasonable compared to places in the city centre and you get a coffee and some packaged snacks for free, which many hotels don’t offer at all. I was initially a bit apprehensive about staying in the outskirts of the centre but we were very happy with our experience. It was a holiday weekend so we were lucky enough not to hear the building work going on nearby, but then, that noisy work doesn’t go on at night!

Nos dijeron al hacer el check in que podíamos aparcar el coche gratuitamente en el parking de la esquina bueno, pues nos han multado porque es un parking para residentes y ahora pasan de responsabilidades When you ask while dropping off luggage and checking in where to park the car they may tell you that ''there is a free parking lot around the corner'' Well, we've fined and happens they don't remember of their words Just as well it wasn't towed off luckily

Be aware when you drop off your luggage and checking in, if you ask them where to park the car they are going to tell you that there is a parking lot around the corner on the left

The location was not the best and the hotel had not parking but it was rather easy to find a parking spot plus it was a free zone.. the staff was really friendly and really helpful giving us a map and telling us good places to eat which places to avoid etc.. unfortunately there was no breakfast except for a coffee machine and some packaged croissants and muffins but they were available 24/7. The room was rather small but cozy and clean

super nice and helpful staff, plenty of free pastries in the morning. the only tging thing i would add is a couple hooks/ racks to hang up the towels in the bathroom

If you want to see and be seen, Bilbao has a few chinzy and pretentious hotels, and you will know them when you see them.
But Hotel Ria is the only hotel I've found that can transport you to traditional Bilbao. Open your window to see stunning river views from your room. Gaze at the museum quality old photographs on the walls. Retreat to the garden in the back and drink in the tranquility. Yes--it is a ten minute walk to the Deusto subway and fifteen minute walk to the stadium or Iturrizar Park. Yes--it's not KM0. But it's real, lovely, and offers incredible value to travelers seeking an authentic Bilbao experience.

Beware- you cannot cancel the reservation. The listing does not say non-refundable. Apparently it is in the fine print in email confirmation sent after the booking is made. I disputed it with the management because I wanted to cancel a room three days in advance. I was told, “tough luck.”

Terrible place to stay, the room smells like sewage. They probably had some problems in the last month. Also noise during the day from construction in the hotel and outside of the hotel. Hard place to find because off the construction sites around it. Hard to get to the city center or to use public transport from here. I don't recommend this place.
