Apartamentos THe Koala Garden Suites in Maspalomas

Stayed here for 5 nights just me and my daughter who is 14, we stayed all inclusive at LIVVO Koala Garden staying in an apartment not far from reception. We arrived at the hotel late at night and were offered sandwiches and fruit from the lovely reception staff, they answered all our questions and showed us exactly how to get around the complex which was a bit confusing at first. Where the hotel was situated was in a nice quiet area away from the noise so guaranteed a good night sleep. The apartment was great, so spacious and comfy beds, the room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. We had a standard double room which had a double bed, sofa, big wardrobe and a balcony with seats and a drying rack. The bathroom had both a bath and shower which we had no issues with and plenty room for toiletries. You can choose how often you would like your room cleaned, we chose every 2 days although the cleaners still come in every day and empty the bins and often make the beds which was perfect! There was 2 restaurants in the hotel, one was a buffet restaurant and the other an Italian (reservations only for Italian). The food in the main restaurant was by far the best all inclusive food we have had, there was always plenty of choice for us even with the restaurant being smaller and most other people seemed to get on fine too. Joey’s is an Italian restaurant on site which you can reserve online on arrival, we found it much the same as the main buffet restaurant although the food was still tasty just not as much choice. The drinks at the bar were all listed in the menu on the wall so ordering was made easy, there was a slushie machine that was very popular with everyone, branded drink machines, serving sprite, Fanta, Coke and another machine serving fruit juices and water. There was 4/5 pools scattered around the complex, some were definitely colder than others, we only stayed by the colder pools which were a lot more quiet and relaxing so can’t really comment on the more busier pools or pool activities. Seems easy enough to get sun loungers all day, not sure if it’s the time of year of the fact the pool was cold. The staff all over the hotel were amazing, so nice and helpful throughout, reception staff always greeted you with a smile and were so happy to help us with anything we needed, entertainment staff always had a smile on their faces, we didn’t take part in any daytime activities so not sure about those but the kids seemed to enjoy them! There was always a kids mini disco followed by a different Kahoot Quiz then the main 45 minute entertainment show which was a different show every night, we got a lot more than we expected giving the time of year. During our stay there was an acrobatic/dance show, magic show, international dancing show and a couples challenge show. Amazing holidays here. Second time in Gran Canaria. The hotel was amazing. It was close to Holiday world l. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The entertainment was great with Julia, Nariimi, Kendra and the others. The food can improve, because sometime is always the same . Maybe we come back

Family friendly hotel. Travelled with a 4 year old. Kids pool and splash area , kids club, mini disco and animation team all great. Lots of bigger pools to choose from (quite deep) plenty of sunbeds around every pool and 2 in front of every ground floor room. Artificial grass all around again great for kids. Self service for soft drinks, juice and coffee throughout day and evening. Nachos, nuts, pastries and sweets available certain times during day. Family room nice and big plenty of hanging space. 2 beds as a double in bedroom and 2 sofas that are used as beds in lounge area. Bathroom with both bath and shower again great size. Was asked on arrival to tick how often we wanted the room cleaned..could have said every day. We went with alternate days and this was done and towels changed. Wi fi in room and other areas mostly good. Some occasions had to re connect. Buffet restaurant...food not as good as we have had before in other hotels as choices not as extensive but it is a smaller hotel and there is always something to choose from. Breakfast is the same as all other AI hotels with a range of hot and cold food. Lunch and dinner....choices of salads, hot dishes and always 2 choices from the grill. Pizza, chips every night available. Could do with a better selection for children for example plain pasta with tomato sauce or chicken nuggets more often. The food could also be a little bit hotter. There is a microwave if you wanted it. Snack bar with pizza, burgers, salad and hot dogs available daily. You can book into the Italian restaurant on site which we felt was a bit better. Salad appeared fresher and dishes like lasagne, cannelloni etc and freshly cooked pasta were available which were hotter than the main restaurant. Entertainment in evening included mini disco 8.15 till 9.00 and then some shows- dancing, bingo, karaoke etc. Animation team work really hard every day and night Most nights everything quiet by 10.30 AI bar finishes at 11. Not somewhere to go if you like a livelier evening. Holiday World 5 min walk which has a variety of food choices, bowling, amusements, fair etc if you want a walk out. Taxi to jumbo centre playa del ingles €7 if you want a more livelier night out. Also €10 to maspalomas front and €7 to water park so you can get to different places if needed. There are some cats around and we saw the odd dead cockroach but nothing that caused any problems. Overall we had a great holiday and have booked to come back next year as it is reasonably priced and ticked most of our boxes.

It's a great hotel for the price - facilities are good, staff are all lovely. The food is well cooked but there's not a huge choice compared to other hotels we've been to. Joey's restaurant is nice and you can book there as many times as you like. The location of the hotel is a little out the way but there are free buses to the beach and water park daily, plus Holiday World is five minutes walk away. The rooms are spacious and have every thing you need - a little bit run down or 'bodge job' fixed in places, but comfortable enough. There were plenty of places to sit during the day and the whole place didn't feel at all crowded even though we were there at a busy time. Would recommend the hotel for a cheap stay and for the heated pools when visiting in the colder months. We had a great stay but knew we were coming for a cheap and cheerful stay so weren't expecting The Ritz!

Arrived here on Sunday 29th march. Reception was helpful but only 1 off the rooms were ready so went for lunch(which wasn’t the best).Room 220 there was mould in the wardrobe and bathroom we also had issues with our air conditioning which did get fixed eventually! We asked for both rooms 219&220 to be cleaned every other day but this didn’t happen. Need to give a shout out to pedro(maid) who was a very good cleaner and always spoke to us. The food was moderate not much to choose from at dinner time but breakfast time was good. Also snack bar was okay! Pools were nice little cold but soon warmed up. All in all an enjoyable stay at LIVVO koala gardens!

Wanted to start my review with….please ignore all the negative reviews as it is not possible to please everyone. We stayed in hotel for 12 days with our 3 year old son and just had an amazing holiday, weather was just wonderful, rooms cleaned daily, food wise you always could find something to eat, it was sometimes repetitive but that is what you get with all inclusive. There is some cats around hotel, but they do not bother you at all and surrounding not smelling of cat wee and cats not sleeping on sunlougers like many people are saying in their reviews. Entertainment team was just amazing and there is a lot of activities during day, kids mini club, kids mini disco and evening show for adults. Location is bit remote, but there is shops in walking distance, Holiday world across the road and bus to beach from hotel every morning.We really enjoyed our stay and planning to come back next year

Excellent stay at Koala Gardens. Rooms were modern and spotlessly clean (we observed cleaning staff take apart lights to dust inside & lightbulbs!) Bathrooms have modern newly fitted fixtures. Good range of food. The Italian restaurant is Excellent and great service at all. Help yourself soft drinks/coffee Friendly bar staff with good range of alcoholic drinks. Easy check in with room available early. Can't find fault with any aspect of hotel - would stay here again.
