- Shockingly unprofessional experience at a Radisson hotel 30 November 2025 I travelled with my wife and two young children after an exhausting 8-hour drive from Kandy due to cyclone damage. I had fully paid for two sea-view rooms, which was the main reason we chose this hotel for our final day in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, the receptionist and manager refused to provide the sea-view rooms we paid for, claiming they “don’t exist,” even though I have a reservation that indicates the sea-view rooms and they were still available online at the same moment. Instead of helping, the receptionist told me “this is not our problem, deal with it yourself” The situation escalated when the receptionist began shouting in a tone and manner that resembled a personal emotional confrontation rather than a professional interaction with a guest simply because I took one photo of the reception desk with the receptionist as a representative of the hotel in a public area after they refused to identify themselves. Her voice trembled, her speech became erratic and aggressive, and her behaviour appeared to be a complete emotional breakdown directed at me. It was so disproportionate and unprofessional that it gave the impression she had entirely lost control of herself. The manager then joined in and began threatening to call the police, claiming I had committed a “criminal offense” by taking a photo in a public area I calmly explained: • that the photo was taken only because they refused to provide their full names and positions, • that it was taken in a public space, • that I would not use it without permission, • and that I had already deleted it. Nevertheless, the manager continued with intimidation and threats. After exhausting 8-hour drive from Kandy due to cyclone damage, my whole family was forced to witness this entire scene. Shockingly, the manager even attempted to involve my 14-year-old son in the scandal, intimidating all of us with fabricated
Healthy options for breakfast were limited, consisting mostly of pastries, pancakes, and other sweet items. The breakfast to-go bag we received was equally disappointing, containing only four pastries and four small pieces of fruit.
The gym was very small, the air conditioning was broken, and it was very stuffy. While guests received a discount at the bar, an additional 30% for service charges and tips was added to the bill. Our key cards frequently stopped working, forcing us to visit the front desk repeatedly for assistance from a technician.
