Staying at Maniumpathy was a wonderful start to our first ever trip to Sri Lanka, which was situated in a quiet neighbourhood, only a short tuk-tuk ride away from the hustle and bustle of Colombo. A small Colonial-style boutique hotel with 7 rooms and a swimming pool, our suite was spacious, beautifully designed and furnished, with an outside balcony overlooking the pretty manicured gardens and pool. The bathroom not only had a shower, but there was a standalone bath, and ‘his and hers’ basins. Originally a house owned by the same family for several generations, attention to detail runs throughout the whole property, with all the reception areas feeling very homely with large comfy sofas, antique furnishings and family photographs. The outside dining area overlooks the gardens, and the food is absolutely delicious. There is a separate bar, again beautifully furnished, and the cocktails are amazing. As for the staff, what can one say - brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble, they will all stop and have a friendly chat, and they will go out of their way to fulfill any requests you may have - all done with beaming smiles on their faces. We were very sorry to leave, but would like to thank Shannon and all his lovely staff for making us feel very welcome and looking after us so well. Maniumpathy Boutique Hotel is truly top-notch. The service is attentive, warm, and professional without ever feeling overbearing. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of dishes, all prepared with care. The location is very good, yet the property feels like a peaceful retreat from the city. Our room was large, quiet, and beautifully appointed, and the setting overall is lovely. The interior courtyard pool is a real plus and adds to the feeling of calm. An oasis within Colombo—highly recommended.

The rooms are quite unique; it was converted into a hotel in 2016 by a local family with over a century of history. It only has 7 rooms, the breakfast is excellent, and it's a very decent resort garden hotel. It's very photogenic.

The last stop on our Sri Lankan holiday. A superb boutique hotel. An oasis of calm set against the chaos of Colombo. The hotel is very peaceful. Super smallish pool. Food is of a really high quality. Check out the bar.. a real throw back to colonial times. The staff were excellent and really add to the family feel of he hotel. Would definitely recommend!!

We stayed for three nights with family. Absolutely loved this hotel - small, boutique hotel in the centre of Colombo with a peaceful courtyard. The service was friendly, attentive and personal. The breakfast and lunch / dinner were very tasty and good value. I travel a lot, but seldom that I feel sad to leave a hotel - definitely plan to come back!

I love this place, it's stunning. The upstairs room is so bright! I didn't go out, just lay down to eat, drink, and rest. Since we had a flight that evening and were sweating a lot after shopping in the afternoon, the hotel provided a place to shower and change clothes.

Manipati Hotel in Colombo, an old house built in 1906, was once the private residence of the Correa family. Stepping into the hotel, it feels like traveling through time and space, and deeply appreciates the texture polished by time. The hotel cleverly retains the original colonial architectural details and historical and cultural atmosphere. The hotel has only a few rooms, and my room was unexpectedly upgraded with a small garden. A chair and a small coffee table in the corner became a good place for me to read. In the morning, squirrels jumped between the trees, green parrots played on the white walls, and I enjoyed a quiet time in the swimming pool in front of the door. Thank you!
