Fort Bazaar in Galle

This such a beautiful property in the middle of everything. It provides the perfect homebase from which to explore all the beautiful things that Galle has to offer. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the evening cocktail hour is a blast. The pool is also absolutely beautiful. Special shout out to employee, Thuan, who really made our stay special. I'll definitely be returning with another one of my Zoom Vacations tour groups!

We weren’t staying at the hotel but as ours didn’t have a spa, we got treatments at Z Spa at this hotel. The spa is very peaceful - we managed to get a walk in pedicure. The spa therapists (Sayu and Kezang) were so lovely and so kind. Highly recommend treatments at this spa!!

Fort Bazaar is conveniently placed within Galle Fort. There are a lot of shops all around and the outer wall is only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The area is very pleasant with a lot of history. Our suite on the top floor of the main building was large, clean and comfortable. It has a large balcony which looks over a street of shops and restaurants. There was a happy hour each day with free drinks. The is a choice of eating inside in the restaurant or on the terrace at the front of the hotel.

Just so charming and authentic, completely sympathetically restored within the UNESCO guidelines . Tastefully decorated spacious rooms , excellent breakfasts and a unique offering of complimentary drinks at Happy Hour daily , complimentary afternoon tea and cake and not forgetting complimentary mini bar that included beer , a really lovely surprise . Small pool area with attentive pool attendant . The complete team of staff from the chef to the receptionist , bar staff and room staff were so courteous and friendly and nothing was too much trouble . The hotel is right in the centre of the Fort so a brilliant position .

We loved our stay at Fort Bazaar. It's a beautiful hotel - the decor is modern and stylish throughout. The staff are welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Highlights included great breakfasts, afternoon tea, happy hour cocktails and pedicures. The pool area provides a place to relax after exploring the fort area. We would highly recommend and hope to stay here again in the future.

Nice Location and Perfect Hotel. Value for Money. Only downside is Less Food Choice for Vegetarians.

This hotel is located inside Galle Fort, and its biggest advantage is its location! I stayed in room 5, which is close to their offices and has poor soundproofing! I highly recommend avoiding it! The decor is simple, IKEA-esque, and doesn't reflect its historical heritage! The toothbrushes are hard! The pool water is murky! The breakfast server was a slightly overweight guy with a belly and no smile! 75 out of 100! Aside from the location, there's nothing else that stands out!

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Such warm hospitality, especially the bar staff, who kept us supplied with arrack attacks, G'n'Ts and cassava fries at cocktail hour, and Sanjeewa, who looked after us superbly at the delightful, newly opened pool. Great food too, from egg hoppers at breakfast to crab curry at night. And our Family Room was a perfect base for the four of us. The team were accommodating when we were obliged to change our plans. Thank you all.

The hotel has a lovely homely feel to it. Staff is very hospitable and attentive. Lovely food with nice vegan options for me. I don't drink but a bar is right here for those who like cocktails.. Rooms are very comfortable with really nice, soft linen and pillows. I also appreciate that they give us non-plastic toothbrushes here. The hotel also arranged a walking tour with Mr.Tharanga who was a great tour guide. I highly recommend him as he has great knowledge of history and Galle's heritage. He took us on a lovely tour that covered the scenic architecture nearby and landmark places like the Victoria Villa church, the law court premises and other important heritage buildings.

We were warmly welcomed by Nafhan, who greeted us at the front and gave us a personal tour of the property, sharing insights and stories along the way. His hospitality and attention to detail were truly exceptional, setting the tone for our stay. The rooms are beautifully styled, offering a perfect balance of comfort and sophistication. Every element, from the furnishings to the lighting, felt carefully considered. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the hotel’s long-awaited swimming pool, a brilliant addition that elevates the experience at Fort Bazaar. It’s the ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring Galle Fort. The level of service was outstanding. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt valued and comfortable. Their attentiveness and warm manner made us feel right at home. We were pleasantly surprised by the happy hour from 5 pm to 6 pm, where guests are treated to tea, coffee, cocktails, mocktails, and fresh juices. This thoughtful gesture added a memorable touch to our experience. Dining at the hotel’s restaurant was another highlight. The space strikes a perfect balance between grandeur and relaxation, creating a stylish yet chilled ambiance. The food was exceptional, with an excellent mix of local and international flavours. Our kids were thrilled with the selection of Western-inspired dishes, while we indulged in more Sri Lankan-inspired options. The quality and presentation of every dish were impeccable. Fort Bazaar perfectly embodies the spirit of historical Ceylon blended with contemporary island luxury, just as you’d expect from Teardrop Hotels. It was an unforgettable stay, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Galle Fort. This hidden gem offers both style and substance in one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic locations.
