Haritha Villas & Spa in Hikkaduwa

My wife and I recently stayed at Haritha for our honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful! Every touch of detail from the moment we arrived (and even before), until our checkout was so nice. The location is beautiful, and the villas are extremely comfortable and private. Each guest / villa gets their own personal "Villa Master", who is there to assist you, personally, throughout your stay. Ishanka, our villa master, was a gem of a human who was extremely friendly, thoughtful, and helpful. Whatever we asked him, he gave us excellent recommendations and insights. He really made our stay extra special! Everything was extremely clean, and quiet as you are fully immersed in nature. The pools were also beautiful, and the food was excellent too. They also offer free yoga in the mornings, cycling, and a tuktuk to the nearby beach. There is also a really nice gym that we used quite a bit. The staff in general were very friendly, and service was top notch! Thank you again for everything, we will absolutely come again.

I don’t really know where to start. This has honestly been one of the best hotels we’ve been to. On arrival we were met by Axel the manager and Asela who was our butler assigned to us for our stay. Asela took us to our beautiful room with a plunge pool and beautiful garden, and gave us each a foot massage. You can eat all your meals outside on your own terrace if you wish. We did a mix of both. There are no meal times. One day we had breakfast around 2pm. Nothing was too much for Asela or any other member of staff. The people who work here are friendly and warm and kind. I hurt my back and went for a sublime massage which really helped the pain. Beautiful pool and so so relaxing. We really wound down after rather a hectic 10 days here seeing some of the wonderful sights Sri Lanka has to offer. We will be back for sure, and next time for longer.

Before we arrived here, we were discussing what is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. I’m so fortunate to now say Haritha Villa is by far the most lovely hotel I have ever stayed. The food, the drink, the staff, the location, all perfect! Our Villa Master Nilanka took such good care of us. Axel also made sure we always had everything we needed. After 54 days travelling Sri Lanka (a journey that became 20 days longer than planned due to the Middle East flight disruptions), we made a conscious choice about how to end it. Not a functional airport hotel. Not limping home. Something that would outlast the chaos in memory. Haritha Villas & Spa, perched on a hilltop five minutes from Hikkaduwa, delivered exactly that. We actually discovered it by chance while staying nearby, and on impulse took a TukTuk to take a look before committing. What we found convinced us immediately. Two days after that we had checked in. Some decisions make themselves. The property is quietly extraordinary. Seven private “contemporary” pool villas are scattered across the hillside, each hidden from the others by lush tropical planting, with a magnificent main pool boasting views across paddy fields, forest and the distant coastline. The design philosophy is simple and consistent throughout: you are here to be left alone, looked after, and returned to the world feeling restored. What distinguishes Haritha from other luxury properties we've stayed at (and we've tried a few) is the butler model. There are no room service charges, no fixed mealtimes, no transactional edge to any interaction. Breakfast in your plunge pool, dinner on your private terrace, a meal at 10pm if that's what you want, all arranged via a simple WhatsApp message to your butler, all executed without fuss. The food itself is outstanding: Michelin-level presentation, generous portions, genuine creativity. The best meals of our final week in Sri Lanka, without question. Two mornings stand out above everything else. Both days waking before sunrise and sitting on our patio, the air completely alive with birdsong. Peafowl and peacocks, white-throated kingfishers, yellow-billed babblers, greater coucals, white-browed and red-vented bulbuls, black-hooded orioles – an extraordinary collection of sounds. A layered, extraordinary chorus that no playlist could replicate. On the second morning, mist still burning off the forest below, we watched the sun emerge and the resort reveal itself in full light. And then something we will not forget quickly: leaping through the tree canopy, a troupe of purple-faced langur monkeys making their distinctive calls like a howler monkey. A genuine note of honesty: the spa is expensive and underwhelming relative to the rest of the resort experience. I’d suggest you seek treatments in Hikkaduwa rather than on property. The drinks prices are also steep, with taxes and service adding close to 30% to every bill. Go in clear-eyed about costs and you'll have no disappointments. He managed every detail without ever making the management visible, which is the mark of someone who is very good at what they do. Absolutely amazing resort, service, food, rooms, swimming pool give everything 10/10. Including our Butler Ishanka. He was perfect didn’t miss a beat and ever so kind and friendly. Would highly recommend.

We spent two weeks undergoing Ayurveda treatment in November 2025 at this beautiful boutique resort. The treatments were excellent, and both Deepika and Nawne were outstanding therapists. Dr. Nipuna Dayasena, a smiling and very kind person, explained the benefits of the medication, oils, and treatments with great professionalism. Nawne also woke up our muscles and revitalized our bodies through his highly skilled yoga classes. The kitchen team pampered us with delicious, beautifully presented meals that continuously surprised us. Our only recommendation for management would be to review the some of the costs, for example, the daily lunch price of USD 47 per person, which we feel is too high. Overall, it was a wonderful stay with exceptional service also from Gayan, our personal Villa Master. Thank you to the entire team for making our vacation unforgettable! Sandra and Rolf

We celebrated my wife's birthday at this hotel and it was an unforgettable experience. The peaceful nature surroundings, luxurious rooms and modern facilities made our stay truly special. Our personal butler Chaminda was incredibly helpful and attentive, making sure everything was perfect. Chef amila prepared the most delicious and healthy meals that we absolutely loved. An unforgettable experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing stay at Haritha Vilas and Spa. Our villa was completely private, making it perfect for relaxing by the pool in peace. Kingsley, our “Vila Master”, was exceptional: proactive, attentive to every detail, and always going above and beyond to meet our needs. The hotel, nestled in the jungle, offers a tranquil and beautiful setting. Chef Nilaga prepared delicious meals with fresh produce from the hotel’s garden, and the spa, like a tea house in the heart of nature, was incredibly relaxing. We stayed for just 4 days, but we’re already planning to return and stay longer next time! Everything was flawless, from the transfer to departure. It’s an experience we’ll never forget.
