Prince of Galle in Galle

The hotel is rustic and authentic. It is no generic international standard hotel by any stretch but it is classy, arty and boutique. In a quiet backstreet but an easy walk anywhere around the fort. Breakfast is delicious and very good but can become a bit repetitive if staying more than a day so a couple of other options to select would be good. Service is very good and friendly from staff.

We had the best stay at Prince of Galle. Such a lovely location, with beautiful interior design and thoughtful attention to detail. A real highlight for us was the friendly and genuinely caring service from Rukman, Kapila, and Sarengh, who made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. The breakfast was also fantastic. Truly a little gem in Galle, we would definitely come back. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so special.

Don’t think twice about staying here, Prince of Galle is a real gem. Effortlessly stylish with classic colonial charm, perfectly located inside Galle Fort with everything within easy walking distance. The staff are exceptional and genuinely go above and beyond. Rooms are small but beautifully done and completely in keeping with the building’s character. The iced tea really is the best, and breakfast is on another level. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful colonial style hotel on a quiet side street within the fort itself. We were lucky enough to stay in the Kings Residence on the top floor. The style of the property is Sri Lankan colonial but with western comforts like air conditioning. The top floor suite includes an open plan sitting area with chairs and access to a small terrace to view the sunset.
The staff are so welcoming and pandered to our every need. The breakfast justifies its billing as superb and is a lovely combination of Sri Lankan flavours served in a western style.

Recently visited here and absolutely loved every minute of my stay. From the moment I arrived, the hotel felt special, a perfect blend of historic charm and refined modern luxury, set in a truly serene atmosphere. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, immaculately maintained, and offered breathtaking views that made the morning memorable. What truly stood out, however, was the staff. They were warm, attentive, and sincerely welcoming, making me feel valued throughout my stay. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, from the ambience to the service. Prince of Galle is an ideal retreat for anyone seeking relaxation, elegance, and an unforgettable experience in Galle. I would highly recommend it and would return without hesitation.

We absolutely loved our stay at this unique and historic hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive and the decor and atmosphere is exceptional. We stayed in the upstairs Kings room and really enjoyed the beautiful piano playing in the evening. I particularly enjoyed the tea and coffee placed outside our room on the little balcony early in the morning. The breakfast was unbelievably good - every morsel was delicious and I am so glad that I took photos! Thank you so much for a memorable experience!

We had a perfect time in this beautiful hotel. Great Rooms, welcoming and smiling faces, amazing chilling area with chess game and piano! Breakfast is good, you can find rice and curry just across the street.

We will come back for sure, next time in Galle!

Quick walk to the fort wall. This boutique hotel located in the heart of the Galle fort is a standout. They do all the little things right. Including a nice coffee/tea set up outside the room in the morning. The rooms are clean and beautiful. Shower is a little close to the toilet with no curtain but they provide some extremely comfortable flip flops if you have to use the toilet after taking a shower. The 6 room place is beautifully decorated with old photos from the house. It has an elegant upstairs sitting area. The breakfast was exceptional. Iced coffee brewed right in front of you. Mini hoppers with delish toppings and every dish they brought out stimulated a different part of the palate. BRAVO PRINCE OF GALLE!

Best iced tea ever tasted!

They claim to make the best iced teas and while we can't confirm that, I can honestly they were the best homemade ice teas we ever tasted.

The place is very quaint and worth taking a break at just to admire.

The staff was very friendly too.
