Amazing! Fantastic resort, great service, staff, food, experience, treatments. A big thank you to chefs, Pradeep- restaurant manager- super kind, went out of his way to make us feel at home and looked after us with such cheer and great energy! I’ve done Ayurveda treatments several times in Kerala, and spent a lot of time thinking about which I prefer, because they’re both great, but I think that this place comes out on top. My stay at Heritance Ayurveda was incredibly rejuvenating. It’s a beautiful hotel, each room with a stunning view of the gardens and ocean. So peaceful. The Ayurveda centre is the spa environment of my dreams. Utter tranquility. The food is nutritious and delicious. It’s a wonderful thing to eat a huge plate of food knowing it’s healing your body! The rooms are huge, comfortable, exceptionally clean, and have spacious, private balconies. But the main advantage here is the entire staff. Every single member — from the man at the gate to reception to the pool attendants and restaurant staff — was completely delightful, helpful, and towed the perfect line between friendly and non-intrusive. I felt so relaxed just going about my business and never felt watched or judged. In particular, the housekeeping men are the best I’ve come across. So sweet! And they went to great lengths to sort as problem out for me when I mentioned something, and I hadn’t even expected it was solvable. The chef and restaurant staff took note of my food preferences and brought me gluten free roti without me even asking. The reception team were always smiling and helpful. But most especially I was grateful to my kind, gentle therapists — Myomi, Geethika, Dileni and Hirosha — as well as the wonderful special masseuse, the angel who mopped my brow during stream baths, and the super acupuncturist. With the last and biggest shout out to my awesome, clever, funny and compassionate doctor, Dr Nimesha, who took so much time to help me get the treatment I needed and left me pain free and, miraculously, for once, not tired. I can’t wait to return.

I‘ve interested in Ayurveda since long ago, and I stayed at this hotel for 10 days. The hotel was very clean, and the room was large enough, simple, and comfortable. Even if there is a problem with the room, staff would help promptly. I was impressed by the friendliness of everyone at the hotel, from the room-keeping, dining, therapist, and doctors etc. Personally, the three meals a day which were apparently planned daily by the head chef, with the Ayurvedic doctor’s approval were so delicious! When meal time began, the head chef was standing at the buffet and explained about the food to us. He was very kind and professional. My 10-day was a short stay at this hotel, therefore I couldn’t take all sorts of treatments. I would like to stay for at least 2weeks next time. I will definitely come back!

Great place, all employees are wonderful ppl, very friendly and helpful, you feel very welcome and safe. Perfect for travelling alone. The Pancha Karma is the best way to clean your body and mind and recharge your energy. You just feel happy, balanced and fuell of energy after your stay. Even when you leave you get advice what to do at home to keep your balance and healthyness. I will come back and 1000% recommended

The food was very delicious.
As for the facilities, the toilet water wouldn't stop running.
The first time it happened was in the middle of the night, and the second time in the morning, they fixed it, but a part needed to be replaced, so the repair was done during the day.
Also, the water sometimes stopped running around midnight. I had to wait 10-20 minutes in the shower, covered in bubbles. On another day, the water in the sink and toilet also stopped running.
There were belongings left behind by the previous guest in a closet drawer.

A very wonderful Ayurvedic Retreat Center. It’s located on the beach, the staff are amazing and very friendly. The doctors do treatment staff were excellent! The rooms are well appointed and have everything needed for a peaceful Ayurvedic panchakarma experience. Highly recommend!

Good afternoon During our stay at your Hotel Heritance Ayurveda Maha Gedara we had very good impressions about the staff and doctors of the Hotel. Original methods of treatment are well combined with yoga classes. Carefully selected food and organic medicines improved our health. I spent two incredible weeks at Heritage Ayurveda Maha Gedhara in Sri Lanka, and I can’t recommend it enough. From the moment I arrived, everything felt calm, warm, and deeply healing. The hotel itself is just the right size—with around 100 guests, it creates a cozy and personal atmosphere where you’re never just a number. You quickly feel at home, and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and meaningful as possible. The setting is simply stunning—located right on the coast of the Indian Ocean, with spectacular views from the restaurant, the pool, and the garden straight out to sea. Whether you’re enjoying a treatment, a meal, or just relaxing, the peaceful surroundings make it even more special. Rooms were spacious, clean, and cozy, with simple but functional furnishings. Housekeeping was excellent—our space was always tidy and welcoming. The food deserves special mention: delicious, fresh, Ayurvedic meals served three times a day, with options tailored to each body type. It was a perfect balance of healthy and flavorful, and I genuinely looked forward to every meal. The Ayurveda center was outstanding. Under the leadership of Dr. Kalpana, with Dr. Anupana and Dr. Nimisha, we received expert, compassionate care. Each day included four personalized treatments, such as multiple massages, acupuncture, herbal baths, steam baths, and inhalation therapies. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing therapists—Pubudu, Shimaly, Sandhuny, and Shanika—who were not only highly skilled but also incredibly kind and attentive. Their care made a real difference in how relaxed and well I felt throughout the stay. Special thanks also go to: • Restaurant Manager Pradeep, for his warm presence and smooth service • Nutritionist Specialist Manikya - for her profound knowledge on healthy eating habits and for her friendliness and willingness to help in every day situations • Housekeeping Manager Nidal, for impeccable room care and hospitality • Relationship Executive Dilki, who was always ready to help with anything we needed • And of course, all the waitresses, housekeepers, and chefs—everyone contributed to a truly welcoming atmosphere. The front desk staff were also wonderful, and we were so grateful to be allowed a late checkout on our last day, as our flight was quite late in the evening. A real highlight of the stay was the Sinhala and Tamil New Year’s Eve celebration. The staff organized a joyful day filled with traditional games, music, delicious food, and a genuine sense of festivity. It was an honor to share in their culture and be welcomed so warmly. Heritage Ayurveda Maha Gedhara is more than just a hotel—it’s a place of deep healing, warmth, and care. I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and re-energized, ready to return to my daily life with new focus and lightness. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful and restorative Ayurvedic retreat by the ocean.

The room was very nice and clean and the food was delicious and varied. The doctors and Desanti and their team of therapists were competent and friendly. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
