Absolutely awesome hotel run by a father and son duo. There is no other hotel of this nature in Hikkaduwa that has such a big land with garden space, beautiful pool area, and large comfortable rooms with pantry facilities etc. Very kind and good staff. The son, Sachin, who manages the property, is a lovely gentleman and an absolute professional. This is one of the oldest, and reputed properties in Hikkaduwa. Highly recommend this place. Go ahead and make your booking without hesitation.

Every time I come to Sri Lanka, I make sure to stay couple of nights in Blue Fox.
Best location - in the center of Hikka tourist area, very close to the beach, yet far away from the noise of the main street. Lots of good restaurants nearby.
Comfortable rooms. Huge terrace/balcony. Green and well-maintained territory.
The staff is simply the BEST! Wish you guys the best of the season and more and more successful years to come!

It's a very nice location, a little away from the beach, close to a railway crossing. Was there for a function and good and everything looks good.

At first we liked the Blue Note as the previous hotel we had stayed in at Hikkaduwa had cockroaches in the bathroom. The room we stayed in on the ground floor looked nice but was not strictly the sea view we had booked. When we opened the doors, we could see the sea, but the restaurant and gusts were in the way of it. On the second night we had cockroaches in our room which upset my wife as she has a phobia of them. The TV did not work at all, and when I asked a member of staff I was told that none of the TVs in the hotel were working. Not what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. On the day we were leaving I went to pay my bill when I noticed that I had been overcharged for my stay,which had to question as it was not what was confirmed when I made the booking with ***********. Then when I was walking through the lobby to phone for a taxi, I heard a dog barking aggressively to my right. I jumped as I was not expecting it and with that, the owners dog ran towards me in an aggressive manner. I turned to get away from it and it jumped and bit me on my back. Someone then grabbed the dog and I stood there in a state of shock. I went back to my room for my wife to check if I needed medical attention, but luckily the skin wasn't broken. However after a few days a nasty bruise developed (the pic shows this). I went to complain to a member of staff but she just said that it was nothing and there was no apology. I was stunned by this response and told her that it was completely unacceptable for dogs to attack guests. She just stood there and said nothing. If this was the UK I would be employing a solicitor to recover damages - do not stay at this hotel, they do not care about the welfare of their guests!

Since we have been visiting Hikkaduwa for many years, we know how to find the gems of the food, such as Blue Note for the Chicken Cordon Bleu. Good bite of the chicken and the right ratio of chicken and cheese, too bad that this time the crispiness of the outside was missing for us a minus, but the rest with salad served separately in a bowl with delicious dressing and fries made the food successful again. Price with 2 bottles of beer around 7500 rupees.

We were a bit disappointed with our stay here. The location is great, rooms are bright and spacious, the owners and staff are super nice and helpful, and the soundproofing in the rooms is effective. HOWEVER, the services and infrastructure are more in line with those expected of a small, family run guest house. We had to switch from our original room because the air conditioning wasn’t working right so the room was hot and musty, and the locking mechanism on the doors was faulty — the replacement room was smaller and had a limited ocean view, but it was okay. Wifi is unreliable, which makes a working vacation impossible since phone signal is also poor in the upstairs rooms. Food is decent, but bland and quite basic. It seems like a little investment in infrastructure would make a huge improvement. So, a pleasant enough stay, but it seems overpriced for what you get.

Photos and reviews have not been updated for a long time after the pandemic and we worried if the hotel really looks like in the photo. The hotel is indeed a bit older but despite this the room, restaurant and pool are in excellent condition. The pool was clean and was cleaned twice a week, there were only 2 sunbeds. The pool is not illuminated at night, but you can swim in it, as there is light from one lantern. The rooms have everything you need, even an iron) The air conditioning works great, as does the fan, and there is hot water 24/7. There were insect repellents inside every room. Of the minuses: there is no table for work. If you pay in rupees, the hotel considers the dollar to rupee rate not at the official bank rate, but at the rate of exchangers. The staff is friendly and ready to help at any moment, so they helped us with a transfer to Wiligama, as the transport of the hotel itself was busy. Rooms are cleaned daily. The area is quiet and calm, the gates are closed at night, and the territory is patrolled by a security guard, there are also video surveillance cameras. There are many establishments, but further from the hotel towards Weligama. All shops in the area close at 9 pm, kitchens in restaurants stop working at 10 pm, keep this in mind)

Whole property is amazing. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Staff is pleasant and helpful.
Each room has it's own balcony with table and chairs to relax and look at beautiful lawn, bamboo and banana trees.
It's fairly close to main road and the beach (5 minutes away).
WiFi reception is not that great but good enough to check your emails if you are close to the router. Hopefully they'll fix this.
