Popped in for a drink, service a setting and view was so good we returned with friends for an evening meal. Lovely lighting sets the scene for a wonderful seaside meal. With the waves and gentle music working in partnership. Food wow two dishes stood out the seafood curry and the squid. Both some of the best food we have had. The place is nice. However we were expecting to have a calm outdoor dinner near in the beach. But there was no sitting option available in the beach. The Ocean is directly next to the restaurant. The staff is very helpful.I had small accident there and the hotel staff including the owner helped to take me to the hospital immediately and to the extend the owner visited the hospital. It's a small, cozy hotel. It felt like I was visiting relatives. Grisha, the amazing owner, Mahinda, his chief assistant, and their team are very attentive, caring, and kind people. After reading some negative reviews about the hotel, I was worried about going there. I have attended a wedding party on 2023/01/26 there. Hotel was located in a nice place. It has a nice beach area. Food, hospitality by workers were all good. Only thing to worry was SAFETY. in beach premises they put several SWINGS for visitors to be enjoyed while looking at the sea. These Swing items were vulnerable for accidents as those were not tight well and the supports of swings were not well...

Our friends have been staying at Villa White Sambur for several years now. We were happy with our choice. It's very clean, the staff is friendly, and there's security! Mr. Lahiru, the owner of the villa, is very nice. We were very pleased with our stay. There's security, so it's safe.

Very empathetic and friendly host. Helped with the transfer from Colombo airport. Nice and comfortable villa in a good location. You can order a good hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner on site. Very cool place. And the biggest value in the villa staff. The manager solves all issues instantly from hair dryer to transfer. Excellent excursions can be booked on site. Was very skeptical before the trip, but the place is super.

Superb staff, so friendly and welcoming. The owner makes sure you are taken care of. Everything was just perfect! If you want to treat yourself, upgrade to king room; huge room with high ceiling, and most of all - balcony with a view straight to the sea. The other rooms seemed also very nice, you can always go to their beach cafe to sit and stand the ocean.

We didn't stay here but we rented surf boards from the surf shop and hung out after surfing. It's a really nice, friendly place with a great vibe! You can order food from Why Not restaurant right next door. Very family friendly (we visited with our 10 month old baby). Hikkaduwa isn't the easiest place for beginners to learn (Weligama is the recommended spot) but it's still good fun to get in the water...

Seeing that this place has 3.8 on google as we speak is crazy! The price to Value is incredible! Our Room had a view to die for and the owners are so lovely and accommodating, and surfboard rental is 300 an hour or 1000 for the whole day! Imagine getting up to the sound of waves, going downstairs, picking a board up from the shop and within 2 more steps you’re on the beach ready to go, going surfing...

Our apartment had spacious rooms with a balcony overlooking the sea. Very cozy. The downside to all of this is the cleanliness of the rooms. The sheets and towels didn't really smell as they should have and the anti-mosquito nets over the beds had some dead insects on the top. This hotel has a great location just back off the Main Street. The rooms are clean, actually spotless. The hotel is good value for the money. It would be great if they had beach towels, even just for rent. I was missing a safety deposit box in the room and it is a hassle with payment cash only, indeed this is a big drawback in 2026 where you can buy a cup of coffee on credit card, I.e not full score...

Very nice hotel, big room for 3 people on the ground floor. The doors close at 9PM, but you can still go in with a different key to another door. You can dry your clothes outside, very practical. Good price

I have quite a double impression about this hotel. From one side it is rather good: clean, good furniture, hot water (which is sometimes a luxury in Sri Lanka). However I can not recommend this hotel because it is impossible to sleep there. This is a family run restaurant that sits on the beach. Speciality is their jumbo prawns and lobster. These were then biggest and meatiest prawns we have ever eaten. Serves with fresh salads and rice dishes. Family who run this restaurant are truly wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend

The owner was pleasant and friendly. Beach 10steps away. Very nice quite beach with amazing sand and surfing. 10minute walk north to get to busy area. Room was very basic. Cost far to much for the quality of room. Food very expensive for what you get. Taste was good however. May as well look elsewhere for food. I have slept in many hotels and would value this hotel room at no more than £12 a night...

The room was simple but charming. We loved being so close to the beach. The owner was very kind and helpful & had very good taste in furnishings. Lots of nice artworks artefacts and furniture. Would definitely recommend

Very beautiful place, hospitable and caring hosts, quiet, comfortable and 7 minutes from the swimming beach. The house is clean, a very cute dog in the yard, monitor lizards live under the house, it is very interesting to watch them, they are not aggressive, but it is better not to touch them. It's great to walk barefoot in the yard, mosquitoes fly in the morning and evening, but repellents and incense...

An amazing place without leaving. From the balcony in one evening we saw a family of monkeys, fruit bats, mongoose, not to mention monitor lizards that live under the porch and hundreds of fireflies at night. The owners are very friendly people, not intrusive, but always ready to help. There are no huge insects and cockroaches in the house. And of course, the super-duper local dog is always happy to...

I've been to this Place twice...it's unique and amazing The food is great as are the staff...The manager Dale is brilliant he has lived out here 22 years he knows everyone so if you need anything at all he will sort it...The Asian and English food is amazing the best in Hikkaduwa...set by a picturesque lagoon about 3 minute tut tut ride to the beach in the town....I shall be going out with the wife...

Had a fantastic Christmas Day lunch at Asian Jewel. The food was great, I had roast turkey with all the trimmings and my friend had the vegetarian option. Both plates included wonderful roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and sprouts and carrots. The staff are great and Dale is an excellent host ensuring that his guests are happy. We had an amazing stay at the asian jewel hotel. The staff were so attentive, we also had dinner there, which was great value for money as well as delicious. You have beautiful views over the lake, with lots of bird species, very peaceful. The pool was nice in the evening. I stayed at Karma this winter at it’s a really nice guesthouse in the village of Hikkaduwa but still close enough to the beach so you can walk or take a tuktuk and be there in minutes. The pool is huge, surrounded by palms and lots of animals, the rooms are spacious and there’s a shared kitchen where you can prepare your own food if you want to. This is my seventh stay in Sri Lanka. I've been all over Sri Lanka. This is my fourth time staying with Hilda. For me, it's the most beautiful place in Sri Lanka. The rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. The grounds are gorgeous; Hilda loves flowers 🌺, orchids everywhere. I can truly relax here. It's wonderfully peaceful, and the beach is just a five-minute walk away. Hilda also serves delicious food...

Nice little hotel. Very well maintained area with a clean pool. Rooms in the main building are small and clean. We lived in a room with a fan, it was quite enough. In my opinion, a very good location, located 5 minutes from the beach, you can not hear the noise from the main road and the railway. Not far away there is a supermarket, many local shops with souvenirs, bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs...

Actually it is a great place my self i went their with my office finds on 19th August 2023. even though it is a Little hotel which has only 6 Rooms their service is very stranded. i mostly recommend it for friends and family functions. owner of the hotel is also a kind person and maintenance staff also good. room price also very cheep our guys enjoy the hotel pool very much and room are very conferrable...

We were in this nice place just a few days. It is nice calm romantic small hotel. The owner a personal are kind and helpfull. This was our first time holiday in Sri Lanka and we are glad, it was this hotel. We still keep in our minds, when we first time steped on the beach and everywhere around us were hermit crabs. One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. We had a Jungle room with the sea view. Of course, the view made our stay splendid, but the room was also very convenient: really spacious, with plenty of storage place, wide wooden table, kettle, a really big bed. The bathroom was also spacious and well-maintained. It's more of the European style hotel - the service and the menu. The owner Luca was nice and communicative...
