This is a lovely hotel in a traditional colonial style. The gardens are absolutely immaculate and full of lots of colours. We had the Queen room which was really big with a spacious bathroom. The food was very good. unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the gardens much due to the rain but they have a separate building with pool and table tennis which we made use of. We were sorry to only have 1 night here! Highly recommend

A beautiful colonnial building set in beautiful grounds with lovely views over the Nuwara Eliya lake and town. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar are also cosy and the food was lovely - especially the hoppers! The town is within walking distance through some pleasant scenery and close by is Galway Land National park, which is well worth a visit. There are a nice selection of restaurants and bars in Nuwara Eliya and the town is lovely to walk around. We also hiked up to Lovers Leap waterfall, which was a little scary in places and we got lost coming back down. Horton's Plains is also worth a day trip and very accessible from here. All in all we loved our stay and would recommend it to other visitors to this part of Sri Lanka.

Lovely visit to Mirage Kings Cottage with a cycling group. The hotel was like an old colonial house and the hotel manager was pleased to tell us about its history . Beautiful gardens and hotel; very friendly and professional staff and the rooms were very comfortable . After a hard day’s cycling it was a lovely way to end the day with some excellent Sri Lankan dinner. Thank you for your hospitality

I stayed at Mirage Cottage in Nuwara Eliya and it was a very calm and peaceful place. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice view. The service was friendly and helpful, always ready when I needed something. Location also good, not far from the town but still very quiet. I really enjoyed the stay and can recommend this place for anyone who likes a simple and homely stay in Nuwara Eliya.

We stayed at MKC as part of a pre-arranged tour with House of Travels, via Voyage Prive. Their hotel choices were largely excellent but while MKC was pleasant, it was not one of the highlights. Pros: The staff were courteous and the room clean and spacious. Cons: The facilities were a little dated and lacking (no pool although the cooler temperatures might not make it as necessary), the dining area was small and the range of food limited and very touristy - much more than the other places we stayed - with a definite push towards German palates. The food we had was fine. It is also situated a little further out from the town and walking down to the lake will take a good hour (through streets riddled with various dogs, stray and otherwise).

Lovely grounds & colonial style hotel & room . Rooms could do with an upgrade without taking away its style , but had a good nights sleep . Stayed half board and the food was excellent as were the restaurant & bar staff . Drinks reasonably priced. Equipment in room needs replacing …,very old hair dryer , old iron with black scorch marks meant unable to use & ironing board was ancient ! Apart from this an enjoyable stay with reasonable prices for drinks .

I recently visited Mirage King Cottage and was very disappointed with the service. The plates were not clean, and the staff at both the front office and the restaurant were unprofessional. I don't know their names, but one of the restaurant manager and front office lady manager were even talking about us while we were there, which was extremely embarrassing. The overall attitude of the staff was very poor. Especially in the hospitality industry, staff members need to be more polite, respectful, and professional.
