Seven Turtles Resort Hotel in Tangalle

This place is truly an introverts’ heaven — a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by nature, where you can disconnect completely and listen only to the sound of the waves and the endless ocean in front of you. Tucked away in a quiet, tranquil area, it feels calm, safe, and deeply relaxing from the moment you arrive.

The hotel is small, with only 10 rooms, which makes it wonderfully private and intimate. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need. The property has a beautiful beach, a lovely pool, and a cozy restaurant where the food is simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious — especially the seafood.

One of the highlights for me was the four lovely dogs who live at the hotel. They are gentle, friendly, and truly feel like part of the family — they add so much warmth, soul, and character to the place without ever being intrusive.

The resort is owned by an amazing Ukrainian couple who are incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely care about every guest. It truly feels like staying at someone’s home rather than a hotel. The team helped us organize activities and transfers, and everything throughout the stay was smooth and stress-free. The spa is small, with only two cabins, but the massage was wonderful and deeply relaxing.

A soulful, peaceful retreat — perfect for anyone who values quiet, nature, and authenticity. I couldn’t recommend it more — an absolutely perfect stay.

One of the best experiences. We arrived early (after a long flight), the staff went out of their way to welcome and accommodate us. The food was incredible, great variety and amazing flavours. A very relaxed and intimate environment in a quiet location, direct access to a quiet and pristine beach, beautiful rooms, able to watch locals traditional fishing and the most friendly drivers associated with the hotel. I highly reccomend this hotel - beyond brilliant.

The hotel is located right on the beach, with kilometers of coastline and no crowds. The food is excellent, and there are no additional costs like taxes or service charges. Breakfast offers several options and is served directly on the beach.
The staff is very friendly, and the bungalow was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

A True Oasis of Peace

We stayed at Seven Turtles to celebrate my partner’s birthday and had an incredibly peaceful and relaxing experience. The beach in front of the hotel is wide, quiet, and almost empty—perfect for switching off and enjoying nature.

The property is beautifully maintained and designed with great attention to detail, creating a real sense of calm. Our room was spotless, the shower was hot, and the water pressure was excellent—small details that made a big difference. The staff were warm, kind, and very welcoming.

We loved it so much that we came back just to spend another day there, even without staying overnight. The food is delicious, especially the tuna burger.

Without a doubt, one of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka. We will definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Its not super fancy but we wasn't looking for that. It was clean, amazing location, really nice staff from the ladies cleaning the rooms to the lads working the bar and restaurant area. If you are looking for super luxury then don't stay here. But if you want an amazing location, good pool, good service and unreal food this place is for you. its winds down early around 9ish pm so if you want a party place this isnt for you either. Perfect for couples and small families to enjoy the quiet and beautiful location. We often walked along the beach and felt very safe. My husband did some fishing on the beach and walked down to the harbour ,30 minute walk or the lagoon that is around 15 minute walk. The food is so good here and the seafood is top notch. They have dogs that live on the property and are very friendly. Honestly you won't be disappointed. The only thing I thought was the beach bar toilet could do with a little freshen up. The rooms we're tidy, spacious and a good shower. What more do you need. Try the chocolate milkshakes, yummy! Mini bar in room also.

A very homely feeling hotel with about 15 rooms. I was on the top (second) floor not facing the sea. The view was not bad and the room was nice and large. The food was good and the staff and owners were present and attentive. It is out of the way and the last bit of road is quite bumpy. This helps keep the area isolated and the beach itself was very clean without the usual plastic clutter which I assume is due to the currents in January. The sea was also very nice with larger waves which might have worked well for body boarding.

Overall an easy recommendation if you want to avoid the crowds.

Great location on the beach, fantastic service, great and big rooms. Nice beach to walk. Very good food as well. A must go in Sri Lanka!!!

Amazing place with great owners. And enormous long beach

Beautiful rooms, outside space and settings. Very peaceful. Food was very good. Everything is positive except that the hotel runs a taxi "scam" where they charge you around 30-40% above the running price for taxi. I would recommend to reserve taxi before going there. That is why it is 4 stars instead of 5.
