An Incredible Stay – Couldn’t Fault a Thing
We absolutely loved our stay at Serein Beach Hotel. After reading a few previous comments, we honestly aren’t sure what they were referring to, because our experience was nothing but wonderful.
Every single member of staff was amazing – welcoming, attentive and genuinely kind. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We asked for extra pillows and they were provided immediately with a smile. In fact, whatever we needed, it was handled quickly and graciously.
The hotel itself is beautiful and excellent value for money. Falling asleep each night listening to the waves rolling onto the beach was pure heaven. The air conditioning worked perfectly (again, not sure why anyone complained!) and kept the room lovely and cool.
The pool area is stunning, and the loungers were unbelievably comfortable – genuinely better than the other five hotels we stayed at during our trip.
Breakfast was incredible. They put out such a generous spread each morning with so much choice – a real highlight.
It’s worth noting that you can’t walk directly down to swim in front of the hotel due to the strong waves, but that’s typical along Tangalle. If you walk a short distance left or right, you’ll find calmer areas suitable for swimming.
We truly have nothing to complain about and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommended.

Had such a lovely time at Serein Beach, the location is beautiful and free from hussle and bussle. Breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious and the team of workers could not do enough to make you feel welcome and at home. Spent ages in the pool with my children and on the comfy sun loungers. Can not fault this place at all and really miss hearing the waves as I go to sleep each night.

On arrival we were greeted with a cold drink and friendly welcome from Nipuna and abey we checked in to a lovely room with balcony looking out over the pool and garden with all the amenities you need lovely fluffy towels for the room and pool they smelt lovely. The whole place is decorated with bright vibrant colours and lovely art work and decadence, A lovely chill out area to read and relax. The cushioned loungers by the pool are so comfortable, the pool is fabulous as it’s gets rather hot and humid. The beach is beautiful perfect for walks the sea can be rough but a short walk away you can relax and enjoy the warm waters and watch the fish we were lucky to see turtles in the rolling waves it was so lovely to see them. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained with lovely attention to detail. We rented a moped to get about and investigate the town but restaurants are a short walk from the hotel there are lots of choice. Breakfast is a serious treat every morning we looked forward to a wonderful start to the day. The hotel is a true delight a small place a paradise to relax and enjoy we would definitely go back we stayed for 7 nights so we could totally relax but this hotel is a great place to stay for a chill after travelling around beautiful Sri Lanka it’s surrounded by nature monkeys birds and large lizards a true haven for nature lovers. I’d love to say a huge thank you to the owners and staff Nipuna abey dayarathna piyseena and ravindra for making our stay perfect

We had a wonderful time at Serein. The staff and the host made us feel as comfortable as we could possibly wish for. We originally booked for three nights but ended up extending our stay to six—and it was absolutely worth it.

The breakfast was great, with the option to request anything you like. The room was very comfortable and had a beautiful sea view—the sound of the waves gently lulled us to sleep. Monkeys were running around, which added to the charm, yet the location is still close enough to the city to strike a perfect balance.

The perfect little getaway. Impeccable breakfast and service from all the staff - attentive without being overbearing. A wonderful selection of seating from sunbeds to sofas to beanbags, a beautiful pool and wonderful A/C (if you upgrade to a deluxe room!). Would return in a heartbeat - thank you

Serein Beach Hotel was ideal for me. It’s a comfortable mid-range stay with thoughtful touches like a fridge and a kettle for those essential cups of tea. I loved its location—almost at the very end of the road—still close enough to the restaurants and town, yet far from the busiest spots. I hired a bicycle which made access so easy.
The pool was lovely, and my early morning walks along the beautiful, quiet beach were a highlight; I saw only a couple of other walkers and the local fishermen starting their day. Swimming is only possible about 800 metres away, but the stroll there was part of the charm.
Breakfast was the standout: fresh, delicious, and generous. I especially loved the curd and tropical fruit. Nipuna and Abye made me feel like part of the family, and their kindness really shaped my stay. I also met the owner, who offered me a drink and was wonderfully welcoming.
Thank you so much for looking after me so well. I would love to return.

This is my second time staying in this great accommodation. It is truly wonderful being semi remote and literally on the beach. I was here in 2017 the last time and have to say it’s like coming home again. The staff are so attentive and always friendly. The infinity pool is always kept in great condition and is a welcome relief after a beach walk or swim.

Very beautiful place. Natural atmosphere and silence. Clean rooms, friendly staff, helpful manager Gaja. Delicious food (Rasai). If you are looking for “bounty” place - this is it. My best recommendations! Five 5 Stars for me. I’ll be back for sure!
